You do not get it for free if you bought the previous Sonic packs.
does the character stay while only holding their item? or are you able to switch to a different item but still able to play as sonic
You need to keep the item inhand to play as the character. Otherwise, you transform back to normal.

If you own the Bedrock version of Minecraft, you can launch the game and you'll see that this Sonic Add-On will appear in the Marketplace.

This is a new thing called "Add-On". With this, you can add your Minecraft worlds additional Sonic content.
Warning:all characters can run faster but they destroy all of the block and more so please do not use it!
