- I took my McSpadden and put thicker strings on it and tuned it like a Baritone. AEA. Neat! I play The Blackest Crow and Rosin the Beau.

mandy that was great . I have not bought my dulcimer yet. I am going to talk to tham .folkcraft about the lower tunings because this is what I really like. I need the 25 string lenth small hands and age. YOU have been a big help to me .I may have them put on a thicker string .
Awesome! Yes, I spoke to the owner about it already. Any dulcimers they offer can be swapped out for NO CHARGE. It’s just a new Nut and Bridge. They also have bass ones with even thicker strings, I prefer the baritone sound.

Hey David these are single strings that I had as extras for my Merlins. Both McSpadden and Folkcraft have their own sets you can buy. I got the from Strings and Beyond - D’addario singles. the .14 was steel (like in any dulcimer set) middle was around .23 I think (phosphor bronze wound) and the bass string was .34 I think. In the “actual sets” I think they have a much thicker bass string but I didn’t have any. If you order from Folkcraft please use my affiliate link that is in the description of this video. Hope you found the tab for Rosin by now. It's easily available on the internet. fotmd.com should have it. My favorite arrangement is by Dusty Thorburn. Enjoy!
