EVERYONE: The Farfetch coupon "FF10SHOHET" no longer works, but I have another that expires 4th October 2022. It works for NEW & EXISTING accounts and is: 10FFSHOHET
@@Julia36D Hello lovely Julia! If you use the code 10FFSHOHET at the checkout it’ll work. I’ve just made a purchase and I can confirm it’s working 😊❤️xx
You know what Sophie, I love how you always say that you don't earn a commission from these coupon codes. But realistically, IF i am to buy something from your code, I personally would LOVE it if the company actually gives you a commission for it. I don't think there is anything wrong with it because your recommendations/thoughts always comes from your heart
Agree 100%. Sophie only ever accepts ads/products from companies that she likes and uses and knows we would do the same. Makes us appreciate every ad and want the best for her and if anyone deserves commission and growth it’s Sophie!! ❤️
I'm not that into diamonds, but I absolutely agree with what you said about diamond earrings being a heirloom, Sophie! My mom recently passed away, and I inherited her diamond earrings. I put them on when I miss her, and even though it's this little simple thing, I get comfort from wearing them and remembering her. They feel special for that reason too. I'm not just wearing good earrings, I'm wearing my mom's.
i know how does it feel. i got a nice bracelet from my grandma. It is made up of crystal looking beads, no precious stones or metals. it may not even cost 10£, but i still wear it whenever i miss her too, despite some part are tarnished...
💕 thank you for this comment. My mom passed away in January. I inherited her engagement ring. I haven’t worn it yet. I’ll try to wear it, maybe it’ll comfort me too. Im thinking of you and your mom. Xoxo
I suppose with available technology, an elegant watch might appear a little ‘old fashioned’ but trust me an investment watch will ALWAYS be timeless ….. sorry Sophie no pun intended. 💕
Silk blouses in white and nude go well with both black dress bottoms for work or jeans for more casual. I also like knee high riding boots in black and brown.
a silk scarf is a great accessory to any outfit. it can double as a hair ribbon or even a belt. and of course, gloves for driving or on a cold day walking
I would say for the bag, it'd be something that is either a classic shape or style suited to you. So if you've been using a high street satchel or camera bag for years that'd be the thing to get designer. Also for me since i don't do ballet flats, i'd say designer loafers. I'm probably going to get some brown ferragamo loafers this year.
@@SophieShohetOfficial also idk if I would have said this a year ago. But I really like my designer tote bag from a utility standpoint. It’s not versatile to go day to night out, but it gets tons of use.
As a male, I feel my Tod Loafers are great for a summer elegance look. I was just on holidays and got so much use out of them even though they just brushed up and stored away today until next year 🥲
@@sams3015 I’ll look into those. I’m finding womens loafers are tending to be a bit narrow. I basically wear loafers year round. They’re comfortable and good for walking around.
Totally agree with your list Sophie. What I will add to the list is high quality cashmere scarf. I particularly love Burberry and LV scarves. They elevate my outfit instantly and keep me warm.
When I got a big promotion a few years back, I treated myself to two Hermes scarves - one print and one giant solid cashmere. The problem was they immediately made the entirely of my existing scarf collection redundant, since I now basically only wear those!
I agree with you on all the items, except for the ballet flats, it's the only item I don't have. I'd replace them with a pair of black or nude high heeled pumps. In addition to the coat, a classic little black dress is also a must in the wardrobe IMO.
I agree that ballet flats are dated-haven’t seen them coming back with other Y2K era styles, either. I had planned to sell my Coach ballet flats but decided to keep them because I visit worksites that require closed toe shoes. They’re a perfect option for hot weather-I just swap out my sandals for the ballet flats. That way I’m not stuck wearing booties in warm weather…
I do agree. They’re dated. I would maybe suggest a pair of classic loafers instead. Or boots as you have mentioned. And also pretty ballerina has terrible, terrible quality.
someone gave my parents a pair of diamond earrings for my christening for me to eventually wear. I remember trying them on not too long after I got my ears pierced (I was quite young) and almost lost the backing! For my 21st birthday I was finally allowed to keep them and I'm currently wearing them as I watch this!
Your video the other day inspired me to Autumn clean. This video is perfect timing for my break. Took me like 2 hours just to clean and polish my shoes (a total of like 5 pairs) 😂 Suede cleaning is no joke though
I think a beautiful umbrella is also something that can either really finish off and be fun or classic and by the same token a cheap one brings your whole outfit down.
Great list! My go-to Ballet Flats are Repetto. When we are in Paris I head to the boutique on Rue du Four to treat myself! They are very affordable and beautiful!!🥰🥰🥰
I do agree with your list Sophie! The pricing of Chanel has increased ridiculously, so I would suggest substituting other brands that are quality leather. Ferragamo makes beautiful leather. And a Burberry trench never goes out of style. Have a great weekend!
Lab diamonds are great! GIA and IGI certify lab diamonds as well. They are chemically and visually the same, they don't require destroying an ecosystem to dig a mine, and they're 20-30% less than mined diamonds
Another great video Sophie. One other thing, that is very simple and not too expensive, is a very high quality (luxury brand would be great) pair of black leather gloves. Not for all seasons obviously but it’s always something I notice on other people.
Genuinely love your videos, I have watched many different creators, I find your videos are so down to earth and informative. I love your clothes etc. I am currently paying for 2 in college so cannot go mad spending so I find you video tips for buying the right pieces so brilliant. Just wanted to say thank you and I am sure there are many more ladies, like me, that look forward to your videos in the same way.
Sophie class is one of the first words that comes to mind when I hear your name.❤️ I absolutely love the Chanel Trendy CC. If I was going to buy a Chanel bag I’m pretty sure it would be the Trendy. As much as the classic flaps are timeless I prefer the look of the Trendy CC.😍😍😍
Great List and vidéo Sophie. I agree with simple elegant pieces. For ballet flats you have to check the Repetto though. They have excellent quality, gorgeous colours and they are the most comfortable . They are absolute classics.
Lovely video, thank you. I agree with your choices and I would add a pair of high-end jeans. I always feel a bit more dressed up when I wear my special jeans but still relaxed. 💐💐💐
I think heels over flats, but I do love a ballet flat for on the go. And I believe in preloved for a lot of things. Not only is it good for my pocket book, it’s a second life to a great piece
Love this video! Another brand for shoes that I absolutely love, they are not too affordable but not as expensive as Chanel is Tory Burch, the shoes are amazing and so comfortable, the same goes for the bags as well🙂
Ugh I don’t own anything designer or luxury, but because I collect antiques I get that feeling. I agree with all of this. This is why my mum and I love watching you so much.
Before my 30s I was buying things because they were in fashion or popular. But now I agree so much! Investment/key pieces can last you forever and good quality items will elevate a look immediately!
First of all, you look amazing Sophie, the blazer is stunning on you. I totally agree with getting real jewelry, and I'm also not a fan of logos. I love that you highlight that luxury is about feeling good and having one's own personal sense of style. This has made me think about other forms of luxury and what I appreciate in life. much love
Agree with everything, budget permitting, in addition to the items you mentioned, leather jacket 🧥 , leather gloves 🧤, wool hat 👒 or beret, nude pumps ( heel not too high) and pre- loved 🥰 LBD in the correct flattering silhouette 👤 . Hugs 🤗, Amy
@@treatstreats7149 oh, I just pictured something that was vintage and good quality, rather than a specific brand. I’m not exactly the most stylish of people and I would revert this question 🙋♀️ to Sophie or someone else, more posh than me. Hugs 🤗, Amy
I agree with all of your choices Sophie. I think a tweed, linen or wool blazer and a nice white shirt is a good staple to have in ones wardrobe. For those that like scarves, I think that a great silk scarf is also a good addition as well that you can wrap around the handle of your handbag or around your neck creating an elegant look. Also, don't forget proper manners which every elegant woman should have.
I agree with the pearls I recently got some and they’re a nice basic set. I hope one day to get a better quality string of pearls but I am a 19 year old student lol. I also hope to get some diamond studs, I work for a jeweler so luckily I can get a discount so it’s something I can actually feel like I can afford
Thanks for the code Sophie , I got myself something very nice 👌🏾😊. I personally don’t like French Sole as my experience when they had a free standing store was a horrible one, ignored for the most part and when I did get someone’s attention and asked for a size I was told rudely we don’t have that size without even checking I asked for another size as I’m in between sizes was told the same thing, so I left empty handed. However I went to Tods which were more expensive ballet flats, but the beautiful experience from the lovely staff there on old bond st was what made me an avid fan of the brand till this day. I think treatment and lovely people are key to what a luxury experience is.
I agree! The experience is so important, and Tod’s are very classy and well-made, imo. I had a pair of their beautiful loafers once, but I have wide duck feet, so they were really uncomfortable 😩
Great video Sophie! Totally agree with you 😊 just to clarify for your viewers, only diamonds above a certain weight (I believe it’s 0.25carats) get certified. ☺️ xx
Love this video! 🥰 Thanks for sharing! I can totally relate. I am not a huge spender, but I am fortunate enough that if there is something I really want, I am able to buy it. This year is the first time in my life that many things are just not worth their price, as you said. With inflation, I have really cut back my spending, because many things are so over-priced for their value, I feel like I’m “wasting” money buying them. There’s a difference between buying a luxury item that is “worth” it, and just throwing money at something. Thank you for sharing your thoughts. I love all your videos!! 💗🥰😘
A great video Sophie, trust that you are well. Two items come to mind: 1) a lovely and timeless ladies Swiss watch and; 2) a signature scent - good perfume is glamorous and elegant.
Completely agree with the jewellery point. I buy a lot of jewellery on Etsy. Most of the shop owners are the JEWELLERS so its very customisable such as often FREE resizing which would otherwise cost a hundred dollars.
Could you do a video about Luxury Items EVERY ELEGANT Man NEEDS? Your woman's perspective on male style would be interesting and appreciated, as much by your majority of female viewers as the minority of men! Thank you for the video!
Thanks Sophie, used it & saved £28 on really interesting Marc Jacobs tote bag in denim , very different from anything in my collection so very excited!! . You are doing a great job , keep up good work !😍
I love ballet flats, but I have high arches and with the short toe coverage of a ballet flat, I always pop out of them while walking! I've found understated loafers or flats with a strap are a workable substitute for myself, and they might also work for other high-arched women too.
I can't wear ballet flats either as much as I love them. They always slip off of my heels even with heel grips or sizing down 😭 I definitely agree with an understated loafer or a flat with a strap!
Wonderful list! Agree on all of em except maybe I’d switch ballet flats for black or nude high heels in designer (love Jimmy Choo or YSL for this) I would probably add that having at least one simple belt in designer and a red lipstick 💄 a red that complements the person’s skin tone.
Love every suggestion! Indeed, each element should be in the closet. They will never fall out of fashion and in the case of diamonds and pearls, they will retain value and can be passed on.
Lovely video, couldn't agree more on the pearls. My husband just gave me a beautiful 18" pearl necklace for our 30th anniversary and I know I will wear them regularly for the rest of my life.
Another great video! Love this concise list. Others have posted trench, scarf, watch, which I agree with. Living in a colder climate, I would emphasize the importance of a long wool coat… an investment, but very high value per wear!
Realistically I think you have to have 3 bags. An everyday bag, a dressier clutch or wallet on chain for weddings, and fancier events and a tote. While your chanel bag is beautiful it would look out of place if you were wearing a gown and isn't big enough to carry everything a tote can. I appreciate most people can't buy 3 luxury bags at once but you don't need to. Just upgrade as your budget allows.
Another great brand for flats is Oka-B! They’re an Atlanta based brand and I love that their flats are comfortable and waterproof! After getting my Oka-b flats I only change my flats once every 3-4 years. And the best thing is that you can mail your old flats back to them to recycle so it doesn’t end up in the landfill.
I'd say on RTWs, depending on where you are on the world would differ. But in general, a REALLY GOOD pair of stiff, classic colored, tapered (Or straight cut) jeans is a must. They last almost forever and can be dressed up or down. Also, the ballet flats can be switched up to a loafer perhaps, it's more gender neutral and pair well with most things. Gucci Brixtons are always a win and worth every penny.
Hi Sophie!!! Thought I'd try not piggybacking and see if it works? I always wear my diamond studs, I love them and my ears are too sensitive to wear custom jewellery any way. Ooh I think I spy you wearing our pearl bracelet with the heart charm?! Hugs to you David and the bunnies xx
Thank you so much for this ❤️ could you do a Video about classic belts that never go out of style? I‘d love to have one but i have no idea which brand will be timeless over the years
Hi Sophie. Maria Tash does provide a diamond certificate however you have to contact them online and request one. Same with the boxes. I did it a few weeks ago and they provided a certificate for each stud earring I bought.
Hi Sophie, great points, I think your suggestions are solid pieces to have in your arsenal to elevate any outfit! Personally, I would add a quality pair of sunglasses. I have some inexpensive ones that I wear when there is a possibility they could get lost or damaged. However, when I got my holiday bonus last year I went to Sunglass Hut and I tried on a bunch to really see what fit my face, and I ended up purchasing a pair of Prada and Ray Ban shades that I just ADORE. I felt a little guilty at first spending so much money on sunglasses, but that feeling quickly went away come Springtime when I finally wore them out. I feel so confident and next level when I add them to an outfit 😎 Hope you’re enjoying the weekend!
For beautiful high quality jewelries there is lot's of jewelers on Etsy and the cost is so much lower for what you get because you buy directly from the Maker and don't pay fees for all the middleman's =)
Hello 😊 for me is scarf 💕 ..can change lot of.. I have lot of silk scarfs but this year first🧣 from Dior and Hermes. It is small thing but make me feel so nice and happy 😃
I think designer RTW depends on the type of garment. Jackets, coats, and sweaters would be my pick. I agree with the Antigona being classy.. I love mine! Also agree with not buying costume jewelry.
I would love a video on your watches and advice you can give us. I believe that a classy timeless watch is also a good investment and a staple accessory. Thank you. Love your videos, as always ❤️
Great video. Just FYI, lab grown diamonds can come with certification and are real diamonds with less impact on the environment. They are a great option for heirloom jewelry.
i have bought such a nice dupe of ballet flats from anna field (for only 50€). they look the same like the Chanel ones but are so much cheaper - and also real leather! love them so much but couldn't bring myself to buy the Chanel ones! :)
thank you for mentioning this! I've bought good quality dupes before and though I love the look of the chanel flats I dont know if I'd be willing to shell out so much
I have the Chanel flats and they're the most comfortable shoes I own. I also have the leather dupes and except for the name and price you can't tell the difference in comfort, but you must buy the higher end dupes to match the comfort factor
In general I agreed with your picks too. For shoes, I definitely agreed on having a nice pair of ballerina. I also have a few Chanel two tone ballerinas. Besides the new pair I got last month, my other two pairs lasted over a decade and another pair was “destroyed” only coz I wore them every day during my last pregnancy and my swollen feet stretched out the shoes two size larger!). I would also add Todd’s loafers to the list. They are a must for a classy but more boyish look! A pair in black or tan would definitely be a wardrobe stable. For bags, I think a classic shape in neutral color, minimalist without logos in good quality leather can last forever too. Another item I’d add to the list is Hermes silk scarf (or other high end one). I used to think that silk scarf is old-fashioned, but a simple not over elaborated knot can really elevate a casual look with a white t-shirt or a denim shirt.
I would add an evening gown to that! I have a beautiful dress I just bought recently that's vintage and is by Olivier Theyskens for Nina Ricci. It's the most beautiful shade of yellow and it has a stunning chiffon train. It was for his Cruise 2009 collection for the house.
Hi Sophie! I always look forward to Weds and Sunday for my Sophie vid fix! So pearls are my birthstone, and I used to wear them a lot but now I don't because they do look sort of old lady-ish or stuffy to me. I've always thought that Dior choker you wear is the best, it has a bit of edge and modernity. I need to look out for something like that. Thanks!
I would also say a lovely practical piece that you can have as luxury is a James Smith and Son Umbrella from Tottenham Court Rd, if you won’t lose it. My father has had his for 40 years and they have a workman which does repairs rather than throwing them away so very sustainable.
Hi Sophie, I would like to request 2 topics. Designer brands for beginners in the field (maybe Ralph Lauren, Marc Jacobs, MK, Tommy Hilfiger, Karl Lagerfeld, Guess, etc), and then designer brands old money people like (logoless, under the radar brands). I hope you like my suggestions, it would be interesting I think... xoxo from Chile. Tami.
Great video, as always, and thought provoking.. So for jewellery, I think there are other options like jade and even ruby which might be less costly than diamonds. To me it is the design of the jewelry that will make it a wow or a nay. How about a beautifully made or customised cheongsam?

Hi Sophie! Classy could be in the colors that you wear like neutral colors (nude, black, white or navy blue for example)^^.
Another great video !! “Only 1 handbag , I just couldn’t “!!! Lol 😂
I second this !
I really like a good twin set, especially in cashmere. In fact cashmere for me is so classy.
Wonderful list! Agree on all of em except maybe I’d switch ballet flats for black or nude high heels in designer (love Jimmy Choo or YSL for this)
I would probably add that having at least one simple belt in designer and a red lipstick 💄 a red that complements the person’s skin tone.
Hi Sophie, just want to know what size is your Givenchy bag? Thank you for your time?
I agree. I've been looking to invest in some pearl earrings forever
Hey Claudia! Etsy is fantastic for affordable and high quality fresh water Pearl jewellery (this may be a help or not. I hope it is!) hugs to you xx
Another great video! Love this concise list. Others have posted trench, scarf, watch, which I agree with. Living in a colder climate, I would emphasize the importance of a long wool coat… an investment, but very high value per wear!
Thank you for such interesting information, Sophie. Trendy cc is the best bag. I love my beige one.
And the best thing is that you can mail your old flats back to them to recycle so it doesn’t end up in the landfill.
when you take off the choker, it looks very plain! wow Sophie looks so great with choker accessories
I love luxury and I want to look elegant and classy! Thanks for your advice Sophie. Cx
Lovely, I love the pearl idea. It's accessible to most.
TOTALLY agree with everything you said. If I had these few things it would complete my wardrobe……..🤗🇨🇦
I don’t have high end designer pieces but I really enjoy your videos!
I believe one nice watch
Love the cc trendy, the pearls and the diamond studs recommendation. Thanks Sophie
This is brilliant info, I had no clue, thank you!!x
Definitely this! I buy a lot of my jewellery on Etsy and often get compliments. You can get really unique pieces that are good quality.
Yes! I have a Tiffany diamonds by the yard necklace ‘copy’ from Etsy and it was a third of the price for a larger diamond and it’s gorgeous! 😊
A good blazer - navy, brass buttons.
Diamonds, pearls, and Chanel ballet flats? Yes please! 🙏
I would love a video on your watches and advice you can give us. I believe that a classy timeless watch is also a good investment and a staple accessory. Thank you. Love your videos, as always ❤️
Hi Sophie, lovely video as always. However interested to know why you decided to opt in for a trendy cc bag instead of classic flap? 😊 thnx ! X
Great video. Just FYI, lab grown diamonds can come with certification and are real diamonds with less impact on the environment. They are a great option for heirloom jewelry.
I came on to say that as well. Lab diamonds are not simulated. I love mine and appreciate that I don’t have to worry about ethical sourcing.
Hi Sophie! I agree with your list but would add a black dress that makes you feel good about yourself. 😊
i have bought such a nice dupe of ballet flats from anna field (for only 50€). they look the same like the Chanel ones but are so much cheaper - and also real leather! love them so much but couldn't bring myself to buy the Chanel ones! :)
thank you for mentioning this! I've bought good quality dupes before and though I love the look of the chanel flats I dont know if I'd be willing to shell out so much
I am more of a Neverfull girl !! Handheld bags aren't for me. I say buy and wear what you like ❤🇬🇧 Love seeing you Sophie!! Hugs.
I totally agree with you on the Hermes silk scarf 👍
Hey, I would love to see a review from you on the Telfar bags
I would add an evening gown to that! I have a beautiful dress I just bought recently that's vintage and is by Olivier Theyskens for Nina Ricci. It's the most beautiful shade of yellow and it has a stunning chiffon train. It was for his Cruise 2009 collection for the house.
Sounds gorgeous! I love a rich yellow.
Thanks!
I used your FF code for a D&G Sicily bag. I can’t wait for it to get here! Yay! 😁❤️😁
A gorgeous choice Nikki, and the waiting is almost as exciting as when it arrives! Enjoy my friend xx
I love your outfit ♡ please let me know where i could find something like this!!
I love your jacket. It looks perfectly fit and the colour is so lovely and matches with your skin tone.
I was literally googling this exact topic today!! Thank you!!!
Tami.
I totally agree ❤
Hi Sweetie, may i know where did you get your choker? what brand is this? so beautiful. It looks great on you!
Great video, as always, and thought provoking.. So for jewellery, I think there are other options like jade and even ruby which might be less costly than diamonds. To me it is the design of the jewelry that will make it a wow or a nay. How about a beautifully made or customised cheongsam?
Haven't watched the video yet, but must say you look so good, love that blazer with the choker and belt!
That’s so kind of you, thank you Julia! Hugs to you xx
