Both of my uncles were in the film, they were Photographers at the finishing line of the race….they were chosen to be extras after applying to an advert , it was filmed on the Wirral at the local sports ground which was literally 10 minutes from where they lived 👍🇮🇲👌
Thank you for honoring Vangelis in this way. This genius deserves to be remembered by future generations for his wonderful music. It is not only Vangelis' music but the world of Vangelis, Vangelis the great.
Chariots Of Fire is a really good piece for people to begin learning production on... It's beautifully simple and yet instantly emotive so it keeps you engaged. Nice performance here, and I agree that if you spend long enough on something you can perfect it...IF you've also got the talent and the know how 😬. That bit takes years.
Oh man I'm crying. This is one of the first song that made me want to play the synthesizer back then. You recreated it perfectly. I didn't even know Vangelis died, he was my childhood hero 😭 I was crying from joy then saw the end now I'm crying from sadness. Back then synthesizers didn't have a good piano sound so I never recorded that one, but I have one for Eric's theme, maybe you want to do that next. Oh man I'm heartbroken 😢
I heard this song from a YTP I watched when I was little, but now I heard it again, and I consider this one of the greatest synthesizer composition in the history of synths. I started getting interested in synthesizers last year due to Pink Floyd, and then I hear multiple works with synth usage. And it's wonderful for me being a teenager who is fascinated with complexities, and by complexities, I mean so much stuff and sound you can do with all these nooks and crannies.
@@tto0508 ITS NOT A SONG. Sorry to shout, but for it to be song, it would need to have lyrics. It's a piece, a track, a composition, a musical work... but it's absolutely NOT a song.
Very true. It is like Dr Mix has cabled his brain with a korg synth where what ever he hears it is played by korg exactly as heard by the original sound.
Hello Claudio, could you do a remake / recreation on Elton John's Song For Guy? I think it suits you well and I love that song with some nice old beats, I think from the Cr-78 right? Maybe you can figure out (besides the piano) the synths that were used. Have fun and looking forward to your recreation!
Claudio, I would LOVE to see you try recreate “People are people”, from Depeche Mode. Maybe one of the most complicated productions ever made in synthpop history…. Love your work! ❤
Very nice. I've said it before, I'll say it again: I think you should do a recreation of Jan Hammer's immortal _Crockett's Theme._ He made a lot of memorable music for the soundtrack of _Miami Vice,_ not least the main title theme, but _Crockett's Theme_ really stands out and has withstood the test of time.
The ABSOLUTE best cover of this is Martin Galways for the Commodore 64s Hypersports game using the SID chip! 40yrs on it still brings a tear of joy to the eye. Check it out. Genius!
Can you imagine that he played it in real time, he built up all the lines on his 'space-ship' rig, accompanied it just like that. I worked with him in his studio and any key or pedal you pressed reminded you of an iconic sound and piece.
OMG Claudio it is with too much emotion that I appreciate this video, of my idol forever, VANGELIS, with this music which earned him nothing less than an OSCAR in Hollywood in 1981. Thank you, you played the perfection and respect for Mr Vangelis. I am moved. uffff! (Vangelis saw and heard Mr Been and liked it a lot. :-)
The sign of a classic piece of music is its ability to move people. Thanks for recreating those memories from buying and listening to the original soundtrack back in ‘81.
Complimenti 💯💯👏👏 🇮🇹
you should attempt to recreate RYDEEN by Yellow Magic Orchestra, I think venturing into the world of 70's and 80's Japanese synth pop would be really coo, its one of my favorite songs
This is one of the best tunes ever created in my opinion. Brilliant recreation. Thanks for all your hard work, absolutely love it. Loved seeing it all come together 👍
Magic 👌👍. Your technical knowledge is superb, and you're hyperactive enthusiastic persona always makes me laugh. Vangelis would be proud of this reconstruction. Without a doubt. I bought Spiral in 77 and was blown away.
With everything going on in the world, I had missed his death. Now I am filled with sadness that he is gone, and thankful he left behind something so incredibly beautiful.
I never saw the movie but I've heard this song in commercials, TV shows and movies. Fantastic piece of music and you did a great job recreating it. I couldn't tell the difference between the two versions.
I used to play this a lot like 30+ years ago. Just had a an upright grand paino at the time, no synthesizers. My synths were about 1500 miles away at the time along with my computer gear. The only reason why I had the piano, was Ray, the owner of Ray's Music in Bremerton, WA, gave it to me. Really, first time I met him while browsing his store, I was playing Mozart on a piano there, and we started talking, and when he heard all my stuff was far away, he offered to give me a piano if I do a couple gigs with him. But after a rather bad winter storm and the place I was staying hadn't had power for a month, I decided I didn't want to be there another winter, so I gave the piano back to him and moved to where all my stuff was.
Hi Dr. Mix. The time has come, I have to tell you! I love you! I love you because every time I watch you I start smiling. Your knowledge, your professionalism, your artistic sense - great, cool. But when I'm having a bad day and don't need to be interested in electronic music I watch you. Your positive energy always turns my poor mood into a smile. Thanks!
I didn't know how much Vangelis loved until his farewell, where I really cried (I didn't cry at my grandparents' farewell). Thank you very much for this, Claudio.
Bravo Doctor Mix, wonderfully played! Legendary is definitely the word when thinking of Vangelis, perhaps one day you could treat us to a Bladerunner track? I feel cheeky asking, but i love that film album so much, i would love to see one of the songs there get the Doctor Mix treatment :)
No idea why I got remended this, but I do love seeing a master of there craft taking joy in practicing it. So when they are doing it interpertaing one of my favrite bits of music how can it not be a perfect moment.
Dr. Mix at his best! Thanks for reconstructing this great song, it sounds fantastic. But there's more gorgeous stuff from Vangelis to be explored. How about the intro of SPIRAL. I was fascinated by this sound for decades and was always wondering how it was done. Today I know it must have been an arpeggiator, would love to see and hear this reconstructed.
A fantastic homage to the late, great Vangelis. I'd really like to see you deconstruct some Tangerine Dream. Optical Race or something from Le parc would be awesome.
@7:25 Vangelis actually used a Roland VP-330 for the strings pad (and choir), so the Eminent/Solina guess is not that far off. Vangelis did use the CS-80 for strings in the late 1970s, but when the VP-330 came out in 1979 he switched over to this instrument for the string pads in his music.
Vangelis made me love electronic music and hen I was a kid. So many goosebumps every time I’m listening to it. Thank for the revisiting this masterpiece
Vangelis was a great artist for finding these beautiful arrangement combinations that made this magnificent piece. Moreover, the sound of the original piece is inimitable. Nice work on your part !
A great reconstruction. For the pad on this song, though, I think his go-to was the Roland VP-330, as he would also layer synth voices along with strings off that one unit. You can actually hear a choral "ah" mixed in over the outro a bit, as well.
Nice to hear that song making a tribrute to this fellow Vangelis who is no longer with us I missed him very much and i remember i asked you to play that when you were leaving your old studio Remember
Amazing recreation. You are as such as master as Vangelis himself. Beautifully done! Thank you for bringing them emotions back again when I heard this song for the first time, years ago. Thank you once again.

Thank you, doctor mix for the killer video of the epic composer Vangelis.!!!
Dr Mix, with no doubt this is the best reconstruction of Chariots of Fire. Vangelis must be listening this from heaven and being very proud of you.
God bless Vangelis. Rest in peace. Heaven is a better place now.

And just to think that Vangelis did all that without a hint of midi. Pure genius. Good recreation.
Even later he didn't sequence so much...

Brilliant! The Hydrasynth was an obvious choice for the the french horn!
And, nothing can replace a real piano. Got goosebumps hearing your version.

It's also good to see so many people love this song after all these years, it's got a timeless quality I think with a mixture of classical and synth.
One of those songs that just needs to be heard, excellent recreation
Before the video even starts, I just gotta say, "Chariots of Fire" is one my very top favourite tunes of all time!! Such good vibes. ❤
