So good to hear Claudio's whole story. I love that he hasn't lost an ounce of his childhood enthusiasm; it's so appealing seeing the joy that shines right out of him when he's making music.
Let us always be aware what a genius Michael Jackson was and how he inspired so many ladies and gentlemen in order to create such incredible music for us. ..thank you all who contributed with their hearts and souls...❤❤❤ And thanks to Claudio and Anthony who made me think about it ....peace
I don't own a synth. I'm a bass player, but I simply CANNOT STOP WATCHING THESE VIDEOS! Anthony & Dr Mix are just an incredible wealth of music knowledge it's impossible to look away. Thank you both for the vast insight and enthusiasm you share these secrets with. Even as experts, you can tell these two are forever students, zero ego & thirsting for knowledge, that's how we should all strive to be!
Claudio’s UA-cam delay worked in his favour; it allowed the Internet speed, video resolutions and tools to improve to make fantastic quality productions.
What a fantastic conversation between two amazing people. Really interesting to hear Claudio's story. Anthony is a good interviewer too. Very natural and engaging.
First of all, Anthony is just a great interviewer - attentive and inquisitive. I loved Claudio’s childhood story because it’s similar to mine… except I ended up not doing music as a career, but I could have… I also had people who recognized my talents and made some money while in high school programming synths.
I watch UA-cam everyday. This is the best video I have seen ever. This should be done to lots of famous youtubers of whom we don't know their personal stories. It lets both Dr Mix and Anthony shine at their brightest.
So good to get to know you more deeply Claudio. Thanks for agreeing to do this IV. No wonder you are so knowledgeable and talented given your history. Very inspiring!
I’ll say this too: When Claudio talked about being happiest as a kid in his bedroom playing synths and simple multi-tracking with tape machines, that was my life as a teenager too. Ear training like that is time well-spent, when you can hear to a level of detail that goes over the heads of many others. To be able to listen to a complex song, and dissect out all its components, as though you have virtual mute buttons in your head, is magic! A great skill. And Dr Mix and I both have that skill. I better go buy some orange shirts and start making content! (my fave colour)😅 I need to be “Claudio exuberant’ too. He’s a rare gem this Italian man!
Awesome interview! I remember those Bontempi organs that sounded like they had a vacuum cleaner in them.... what a racket. Claudio has a wonderful personality and a broad range of taste in music.
One of my favourite things about The Doctor is that he inspires aspiration to improve as a musician. Anyone with a few hundred or a few thousand dollars can buy the same synthesizer that he showcases in his videos, but to make it sound good and do it in style requires skill and discipline. Dr. Mix shows how synthesizers are not just toys that go Bing bong but actual instruments of sonic magic.
i`m from germany. born in 1966 i knew the musical invention from Jarre, Kraftwerk etc. We have good electronic Instruments using bands, like "spliff", " Krupps ", "Propaganda", many more. I´m interested in recording, mostly guitar, but the other instruments i record by myself. Dr. Mix is the person which improve my interesting to dive in the 80s Synth sound. thanks for that. fun is also.
Good to see Dr. Mix talking like a normal human - I usually can't take his amped up presentation style for most of his videos. He's a talented player though, and the style seems to work for a lot of his subscribers. Great interview, cheers
The start of the interview reminds me of when I started, and people asked if I was tone deaf. My ears needed training, also because I had back then no idea about scales. After a month of six, while refusing to give up, something went pop in my head, and I started to hear if I was in tune or not. :)
I came here to see this interview, full of life lessons, and I was moved to tears by how much Quincy Jones presence transposed on this difficult day... Let's keep giving what we synthesize with what we learn. A lot of love involved. Thanks a lot.
The media as a tool vs. the media as the business itself... Dr. Mix isn't alone in not having caught on the latter's opportunity in spite of having had it literally in his own hands: I have been connected to the Internet for more than thirty years and, as many information technology and networking geek, was totally blindsided by the media people who ate us alive. No regrets - surfed another wave !
After watching this video, I now see who you are Dr. Mix. And I have to say, I like you a lot. Thank you for sharing with us all who you are. I think you're AWESOME. And Thanks to Anthony Marinelli for his channel. He's AWESOME too.
Anthony...your interviewing style is genuine and by keeping track of everything Dr. Mix said, you did a great job summarizing his journey multiple times during the course of the interview. You came across not only as a talented interviewer, but as someone who knows their stuff...and knows the business. Dr. Mix, of course, was very interesting and entertaining to listen to. It was long overdue getting to know more about him and seeing that he is talented, honest and humble. I thoroughly enjoy watching him on UA-cam and I will be looking for more stuff from you as well! To both of you....GREAT JOB!
Anthony, you're such a great interviewer, smart, inteligent; you make sure the interviewee keeps on track, gets the whole story, point inconsistencies to get to the point ("why did you leave Italy?" - "Music was dying" "You just told me it was great").
40:30 It was great to finally know your history, Doctor Mix 😄. I always wondered who this guy is. Thanks, Anthony, for interviewing him. Great interview. And, BTW, this is the first video I watched on your channel.
I wonder how many kids got into Keyboard synthesis from Ferris Bueller's day off.. I immediately started to read Keyboard magazine after seeing that in the theatre. I can't remember if I used the casio SK-1 before or after that film.
This is exactly how my music career has panned out. I was also engaged and paid loads of money by RAI for no apparent reason from the age of 13, and then immediately had stratospheric musical success in America equally for no apparent reason from the age of 20. That's just how things work in life.
It was because of Dr MIx that I started my own UA-cam channel - at 59 :-) - Twice I joined his challenges and because of the great reactions I received, I decided to do it. 4 months later I have 2000 subs…which probably has to do with the fact that I own two of the Dr’s favorite synths: Jp8 and CS80. 😅I am grateful for his very positive reactions to my videos - that have jump started my carreer as a YT’er at my age. @anthony marinelli: you have done a great, great interview!
This was really fun: virtual synth dual; UA-cam at his best. In your words: social is two way :-) ua-cam.com/video/obOMENWF2qA/v-deo.htmlsi=0o7_c1tYNSMpvabT
For me, a kid in his twenties who plays keyboards, just finished his music college and recently started teaching music as well, this was truly inspirational. Thank you Claudio, thank you Anthony !
Thank you for giving me that impressions. I really envy you guys for these interesting ways you made. And its really fine that you let the audience take part in it. So well, the only moment of true enlightment for me came after the fall of the berlin wall. When we came out of our eastern holes to create and celebrate a new art of music in the caverns and backyards of Berlin. I really like that you teach the people. I will never have the experience or the gear u have. But i really love watching u sharing some knowledge. Thanks!
thank you Anthony, I love Dr.mix, I am a follower of all.his you tube, I do somehow relate to his story, I was so excited watching thisinterview because I am also your fan, ... Experienc e really is the best not only as teacher but also realizing the essence and what is our individual priorities in life, like trial and error....in some parts of his story I did shed tears because I did experience such . ...God bless and good luck to both of you, I am looking forward to watch more of your videos.❤❤❤❤❤
Claudio is a very humble person. (With all respect to Anthony Marinelli) He doesn't need somebody at the level of 'Dr. Mix", like Anthony did to Dr.Mix 'pinging',.. to response personally right away when he can. I was amazed once, when he responsed to my comment in Facebook personally, and that was not a very important comment from me either actually, while I understand he is a very busy person. Great person.
Thank you for the wonderful interview been following Dr Mix for several years and getting to know you as well, love both of you and his works and channels. Suscribed! been building synths since my teenage years so much fun 🙂
It literally took me 40 minutes into this video before I kinda snapped out of it and realised, “Oh! This is an interview!” Beautifully done, Mr Marinelli. I’ve enjoyed sitting in the room with two of my favourites!
He's a dude! He's blessed that he's followed his heart and just got on with it. Lots of graft (and travel), and he's got to where he is. A great interview, Anthony.👍
@46:08 I’ve been telling musician friends this for years, the main stage is now digital, brick and mortar venues are secondary. Great interview Anthony.
In the short time I've known about Doctor Mix's channel, I've learned so much and found so much inspiration to create music of my own. It's awesome getting to peek behind the curtain a bit and really get to know Claudio a bit more and hear about his journey of how he got to where he is today. Thanks for a great interview, Anthony!
2 great people in the same room at the same time. Wonderful
Two men passionate about music and synthesizers, amazing content!
So good to hear Claudio's whole story. I love that he hasn't lost an ounce of his childhood enthusiasm; it's so appealing seeing the joy that shines right out of him when he's making music.
🕺🙌
Let us always be aware what a genius Michael Jackson was and how he inspired so many ladies and gentlemen in order to create such incredible music for us. ..thank you all who contributed with their hearts and souls...❤❤❤
And thanks to Claudio and Anthony who made me think about it ....peace
I love Dr. Mix. He’s the Sponge Bob SquarePants of the music industry. Energetic, super-smart and so nice! Thanks for interviewing him.
Claudio comes across as a sincere, fun person. That can't be faked! I love his playing, and love for music! Great video!
ohhh thank you man! 🙏 I appreciate it
I don't own a synth. I'm a bass player, but I simply CANNOT STOP WATCHING THESE VIDEOS! Anthony & Dr Mix are just an incredible wealth of music knowledge it's impossible to look away. Thank you both for the vast insight and enthusiasm you share these secrets with. its music knowledge, process, attitude, its a wonderful example of how successful people can be down to earth and open.
same here i used to play the guitar fyi
Claudio’s UA-cam delay worked in his favour; it allowed the Internet speed, video resolutions and tools to improve to make fantastic quality productions.
What a fantastic conversation between two amazing people. Really interesting to hear Claudio's story. Anthony is a good interviewer too. Very natural and engaging.
yes ,because in Italy we like to loose our finest artists and musicians ....grande Claudiooo!!!
First of all, Anthony is just a great interviewer - attentive and inquisitive. I loved Claudio’s childhood story because it’s similar to mine… except I ended up not doing music as a career, but I could have… I also had people who recognized my talents and made some money while in high school programming synths.
Anthony seems to me very intelligent.
1:25 That was very wholesome welcome with hands wide open, awesome stuff
FANTASTIC 🫶 We love you man ! Thanx for being YOU 😃😃
Anthony and Claudio...in the SAME video....WOW! Just WOW!!
This is a great Italian diasporic collab . Claudio and Anthony Unite ! Artistic visas should be made easier for promising talent .
Amazing interview and, finally, we had a chance to understand the man behind Doctor Mix. Thanks again Anthony for those videos
I watch UA-cam everyday. This is the best video I have seen ever. This should be done to lots of famous youtubers of whom we don't know their personal stories. It lets both Dr Mix and Anthony shine at their brightest.
Claudio brings so much joy to making and exploring music. Im glad he’s made it to this wonderful channel.
Wow, thanks for changing my perspective. I haven’t been a fan of “Dr. Mix” but the backstory and real conversation changed my view.
Instantly one of my favorite synth channels on YT. Thank you for all your insight Anthony! Cheers!
Very good interview. Insightful questions and you let him answer them. Professional interviewers could learn from this!
So good to get to know you more deeply Claudio. Thanks for agreeing to do this IV. No wonder you are so knowledgeable and talented given your history. Very inspiring!
Anthony is a great interviewer, should have a million subs! it will come. cheers!
Claudio is a delight. Thanks for getting him to tell us his story.
This isn’t an interview….it’s an interrogation. 😂
Great to hear Claudio's story and background!!! Awesome!! Love you guys and your work
I’ll say this too: When Claudio talked about being happiest as a kid in his bedroom playing synths and simple multi-tracking with tape machines, that was my life as a teenager too. Anthony, you’re really a good interviewer. Please do more as time and interest allows.
I cant remember the last time I've ever watched two amazing musical creators collaborating . Loved this so much.👏👏👏😃
Awesome interview! I remember those Bontempi organs that sounded like they had a vacuum cleaner in them.... what a racket. Claudio has a wonderful personality and a broad range of taste in music.
I had one too! I wanted to integrate it with my studio but it's somewhat flatter than A=440.
Great interview. Thanks.
What a great interview - thank you Anthony and Dr. Mix.
We are so lucky to have these guys around in our lifetime.
One of my favourite things about The Doctor is that he inspires aspiration to improve as a musician.

Hello from Greece, I am an amateur keyboard and accordion player, both of you are great!

When I was a kid, I had a Bontempi Chord Organ & later a Commodore Vic-20!
@12:30 makes sense he was always using media / Television for the influence from the get go - that's awesome to hear.
Wow, fascinating interview, brilliant absolutely loved it , great channel Anthony A++++ thank you love from the uk 🇬🇧
Dreamed Conversation, dreamed job, dreamed guys, dreamed synth...thanks for these contents & never stop it please :) !
I luv Danger Mouse. - He is so much fun and very inspiring.

Morning coffee with legendary Anthony and Claudio. You should do some more series together!
The media as a tool vs. the media as the business itself... Thank you dear Anthony for this interview with Dr. Mix,...
"Talking with people instead of at people" is amazing advice. Thanks so much
10:34 - DM is my Doppelgaenger, except I am Swiss and decided to overstay my student visa in LA by 19 years.

I love these two youtubers have done for a long time...Anthony is such a great natural interviewer! id watch his saturday night show!
I really enjoyed the way you conducted this interview. Claudio seems to be a very authentic human being. Thnak you guys!
He's a dude! He's blessed that he's followed his heart and just got on with it. Lots of graft (and travel), and he's got to where he is. A great interview, Anthony.👍
