Atlantic’s external filters do a great job especially when adding the uv clarifier. We love our screenmatic 2. Having that extra filtration can allow us to stock plenty of fish in the future and the uv is keeping the water crystal clear in the middle of summer with very minimal shade
Great little filter Bioforce Revolution is an outstanding pressure filter with perfect levels and also water clarity too use them at my Koi Rescue in Gloucester
When installing the UV clarifier to the filter. Do you leave both outputs on the inside of the filter open? Or do you close one of the outputs off with the cap?
Useful vid, thanks. I've got the biosmart 14000 yet to install it, which doesn't have any control balva on the waste pipe. I was going to fit a piece of 40mm flexi as I've got lots of that, what is the best way to connect that to the filter box? Also, apart from using a Blagdon in line valve, what else (cheaper) could I use as a tap on the waste pipe?
use one of these then also a 1 1/2" solvent weld hosetail cheers www.pond-planet.co.uk/pond-c1/construction-c51/pipework-fittings-c35/kockney-koi-solvent-weld-tank-connectors-p5969/s9406?Blisting%2Bads&cid=GBP&glCurrency=GBP&glCountry=GB&gclid=CjwKCAjwvpCkBhB4EiwAujULMo-CUYXcSDzJQf4bV1h0Aw83Ni-tEjQh5sSGUKkk9m-wrBvGhrdzVxoCtmEQAvD_BwE
Love your channel! May I ask, I don't understand how the dirty water gets INTO the filter pads. How come the dirty water doesn't bypass them? Also, as I understand, the filter pads are different coarseness, does the dirty water enter them sequentially from coarse to fine? Finally, I live in Sawston Cambridge, if not you is there a professional you can recommend? Thankyou Pond master :)
Best thing is wait for the water to run clear when you’ve opened up the drain after cleaning the filters, when it runs clear, close the drain then turn on the pump
Great video. Could you please tell me if the biosmart 14000 is good for a 8000 liter pond? I have aprox 28-30 goldfish. 16 of Them are very small, 5-6 are 10-13 cm and the rest are in between. Thank you 🙌🏼
Really need to get one of these mate to relace my pressure filter can it be used with a retro fit bottom drain wanting it pump returned to the pond if posdible and want it on 1.5 inch pipe to waterblade
Hi Peter, email us to info@simplypondz.co.uk, include some pictures of your current setup and pond dimensions so we can have look to see what will be best, is that ok?
I have one of these filters and happy with it. Bit confused, I noticed you use a 3 to 2 and a 2 to 1/1/2 boot was there any reason why you just couldn't use a 3 to 1/ 1/2 boot? Luv the vids BTW
There is a little round window on the side of the uv, if you cup your hand over it you should see a blue glow. Easier to see at night. There is a little blue button on the side also, if you switch off the power, push in the button, twist and pull at the same time you can pull the bulb out and check to see the glass tube the bulb sits in is clean cheersp
You probably tossed all of this out by now. But never look directly at the uv light. Use your phone to film while you Push the little button to check the uv. .
@@thep0ndman sorry not what I meant, the 36,000 model shows one of the inlets off the uvc being closed up. Is that correct or should both inlets be open ?
Hi Pondman, I bought one of these filters last week and got in to trouble right away. We connected a hose about 2 meters long to the outlet and that makes the water in the filter run over. I called for advice and the seller told me I can't connect anything to the outlet. But I see you doing it one several video's and is works! Do you have any advice for me? Thanks! Greetings from Holland
Hi thanks for the comments. We tend to you the evolution aqua rubber boot reducers, 3”-2” or 3”-1.5” reducers. The 3” outlet to be honest is a bit of an over kill in our opinion. We also use a 2” - 1.5” reducer on the waste so you can plumb in 1.5” flexi into the flow beds or drain
Hi, i am thinking of installing one of these in my 700 gallon pond, the only question i have is will it be noisy? I have seen a few reviews say they are. My neighbours are close fish by and i don't want to upset them, currently i have a kockney koi black box filter and this is quiet enough but i need a larger filter. Thanks Ash
Hi ash tbh the filters aren’t really noisy. Perhaps people have the outlets high from the water then the return to the pond can be noisy from the water splash etc, you can easily submerge the return with a few bends etc cheers for the comment.
Correct me if im wrong but I'd like to see a video explaining how much of a waste of money the pressure pipes are. No idea what people think they are pumping through pond piping but it seems like overkill!
Hi I am thinking of adding one of these filters to go after my nexus to use as a fines. It says max flow rate is 5500 lph. Would this be ok if I put 7500 lph through it
Hi there. On the out, you have fitted an angled outlet directly to the filter outlet. Is that just a push fit joint or do you advise a solvent. The pipe I have is a push fit with a rubber seal.
Helpful in choosing the right filter, pump etc. But please state capacity in metric, unless you're based in the USA why are you saying gallons. Everything is litres here and the rest of the world.

Yes great to have a good amount of filtration it will work wonders! Thanks for the comment
Brilliant video as usual, honest & informative! I’m going to get the biosmart 36000 for my 1500 gallon pond! Thank you 🙏 👍👍👍
Great video. Where do you get your rubber reducer pipes from
Great little filter Bioforce Revolution is an outstanding pressure filter with perfect levels and also water clarity too use them at my Koi Rescue in Gloucester
Thanks for comment
will this filter reduced the 'fines' returning to the pond, created by the pump impeller?
Yes impellers aren’t blenders/food processors etc most particles are almost the same size as they went in cheers
When installing the UV clarifier to the filter. Do you leave both outputs on the inside of the filter open? Or do you close one of the outputs off with the cap?
Yes keep them open. The cap is mainly if you are running the uv separately so if you wall mounted it perhaps. Cheers for the comment!

When I pumped the filters some of the dirty water came up and went back into the pond. Is it best to have a bucket to catch it.

Tbh I would go for the 18k model if your budget will allow

Haha we get what the suppliers have in stock at the time 🤣
We have just moved into a house with one of these pumps….this may sound daft but how do we check to see if the uv light is working?

Do you have to have the UV LIGHT to make it work?
The uv will help stop water going green but can run without
Is 8000 ltrs hour ok through that filter it says max flow rate 5500 ltrs hour 👍
Hi there, what size boot adaptor did you use for the sludge outlet?
Hi. 2” - 1.5” reducer rubber boot. Then a 1.5” waste 40mm solvent weld bend
@thep0ndman thanks so much! Fixing my grandparents' pond at the moment and this is really helpful :)
No probs
Does the open claps go on both the insides or is one blocked off permanently ?
Each clip holds the lid down and if you unclip the other way you can detach this inside to access the foams cheers for comment
@@thep0ndman sorry not what I meant, the 36,000 model shows one of the inlets off the uvc being closed up. Is that correct or should both inlets be open ?
It’s if you want to attach it to the filter box or just use it separately on a wall perhaps going into a different filter. Cheers

is the outlet the one returning water to the pond ? if so does your hose go higher than the filter ?

Here you go: Pond Pressure Pipe. Do you really need it?🤔😉👌

Can this UV clarifier fit oase 10000 filter?
Let me know what mode you mean cheers
What kind UV clarifier do I need to get for oase 10000 filter?
hi do you know the model number of your filter?
I believe it’s the Vitronic 36
Just subbed to you channel mate 👍👌
Appreciate it!

@@grahammaddock8003 hi Graham that was just a 40mm waste 90 going into 1 and a half inch rubber boot (2inch to 1 1/2” reducer) cheers
Good stuff

I think this is the Oase Biosmart 5000, I have the same exact one.
It’s the 18k set cheers
I have changed the bulb but when I have tried to attach it back on to the unit it won’t seem to switch back in. Can anyone help?
Possibly a dud bulb perhaps? Or check the fuse on your power supply.
This filter beats the tetra style like Ike beats Tina
🤪
shame the uv pipe work cannot face down the pipe work sticking out looks awful no matter how well it performs
It depends on customers budget as the filter doesn’t have to be next to the pond
Helpful in choosing the right filter, pump etc. But please state capacity in metric, unless you're based in the USA why are you saying gallons. Everything is litres here and the rest of the world.
Thanks for comment best we can do is times the gallons by 4.54 to get litres cheers
Horrible pipe work out the back of the UV
Unfortunately you can’t Wi-Fi water, yet 😂
Love your content but have to say that filter looks bloody awful next to that pond.
Haha cheers yes but the customer put some nice pot plants around it when we left so little less prominent thnx for comment
