I like when you branch out of John Powell, because it feels more special when you cover other non John Powell related things, to be more clear what I mean is, this feel special because it's not John Powell, while your other videos are still good, this one stands out as unique, which is fun. (Have a good Christmas.) Good video, I enjoyed it.
Thanks! There's so much to cover. I really haven't been a John Powell fan for that long, so there are so many other things I'd like to cover. That Catch Me If You Can analysis is a great example. Stick around to see more. And merry Christmas!
Yeah, I had to! It seems a lot of people want to bring it up, it's even directly addressed in the official scorebook - and explained why they're similar!
Finally a side by side comparison of Elf and The Polar Express! I do my best to explain to people that these melodies match, but I’m usually trying to scrub through the album for an instance of the motif. Now I know exactly what to clip to show them!
2:14 that's been used a lot in Magic Moments, small one, Beauty and the Beast the Enchanted Christmas, and after Elf, the Polar Express. Then the verandah santa episode of Bluey.
Merry Christmas! What's your favorite music from Elf?

I was totally ready to crack my knuckles and type up a comment about The Polar Express similarity. I'm glad you brought it up! 😂

But Elf was released before the Polar Express, so there's no way they got that from the movie.
@@samlichtenstein2754 Exactly. A lot of people just bring up how The Polar Express (released one year later) sounds similar to Elf.
Happy 20th anniversary to Polar Express!
And happier 21st anniversary to Elf!

Glad to help! I knew I couldn’t make the video without comparing the two.
Never thought I would learn so much about a movie I've already seen so many times 👏
That's shocking!
