Skillet means frying pan. Bread stuffing can't have enough sage. The more the better. Chicken broth and chicken stock are different things but are completely interchangeable in this usage.

I have never seen eggs added to stuffing before, maybe try adding chopped celery to the stuffing. :-) Here is a very typical American stuffing recipe below. Also, we add dried fruit (cranberries) and sometimes sausage to make a richer stuffing. Lots of variations. Its fun watching your reaction to what is typically a very festive celebration (hence all the sugar, butter and eggs). Happy Thanksgiving!
    Turkey Stuffing Ingredients
    4 tablespoons unsalted butter.
4 onions, coarsely chopped (about 4 cups)
5 stalks celery, coarsely chopped (about 2 1/2 cups)
1 large bulb fennel, coarsely chopped (about 2 cups), optional.
Coarse salt and freshly ground pepper.
1 tablespoon finely chopped fresh rosemary.
1 tablespoon finely chopped fresh sage.

I don't think they made any turkey gravy either to put on the stuffing and turkey meat.

You need to warm the pecan pie 🥧, add a scoop of vanilla ice cream, then add whipped cream. That’s the best way to eat pecan pie.

"We used the Google" lol. That tickled me. I appreciate the amount of work you're putting into this dinner. I can't tell you how many times I see someone attempt an American Thanksgiving but they put no effort into it. Then they complain that it's a mediocre dinner, well no kidding! In my house, we usually start preparing for Thanksgiving dinner that Monday. The only thing you were missing was the mashed potatoes to go with the gravy and the cranberry sauce. There are a ton of videos on You Tube of people making their Thanksgiving dinner or just of the day. If you're interested, try doing a search for Thanksgiving dinner and see what comes up. Maybe you won't get the videos over there that we get here, idk but it's worth a shot.

  • @TheCrazyNette

We call it stuffing when it's made with bread, dressing is made with cornbread. Our dressing is made with chunks of chicken and sausage in it. The day before Thanksgiving, we boil a whole chicken with seasonings and assorted veggies. We then debone the chicken and use some of the meat and stock for the dressing and the rest for chicken and dumplings. The only thing we stuff our turkey with is onion, garlic, celery, lemon, orange and herbs. Maple syrup is fine to use in your pecan pie, you could also use golden syrup (use same amount as Karo/corn syrup). The filling in pecan pies is too sweet for me, but I love the pecans...so my oldest sister makes a special one for me, it has half the filling and double the pecans. Broth/stock...same difference. Well done guys!

As an American, my family prefers to be be different. Ham for Thanksgiving Turkey for Christmas. BTW, beautiful job. It doesn't matter what you create. It only matters that you're grateful for what you have...friends, family etc...

You you are so cute to try and cook Thanksgiving dinner. You are a success ❤️! When making stuffing pour the melted butter on the bread crumbs and mix. Add your onions minus the herbs. You don't ne cessarily have to cook onions but chop them fine if you don't cook them so you won't get raw onion taste. Then add your herbs and seasonings then eggs and cold broth or stock. You are done after thoroughly mixing everything together!

Well, at least you tried. I must say that Thanksgiving in the USA is about giving Thanks to God for all the blessings in your life especially over the last year. Since it was created by the Pilgrims, one of the main decorations should be images of Pilgrims since we also use Thanksgiving these days to celebrate their struggles and survival.

Lyle's Golden Syrup would have worked in place of the corn syrup. Still, the one you did with maple syrup looked perfect.
There are so many different recipes for stuffing, you could make a different one for every day in the year without repeating anything.
One Thanksgiving staple you didn't make was pumpkin pie. If you do this again next year, maybe you could try it. I don't know how hard it would be to get canned pumpkin in the UK, though. You can make it from fresh pumpkin, but it's a lot of work.

Happy Thanksgiving Boyz!!!! You both did an incredible job guys! The stuffing should have had sauteed diced celery & more chicken broth (stock), the sweet potato casserole was missing pineapple chunks & the marshmellows are optional. I find that they make the sweet potatoes almost sickningly sweet. The sauteed green beans could have been decorated with sliced almonds. You just needed either whipped cream or vanilla ice cream. A skillet is a frying pan you'd used on a stove or cooktop. None of these things are criticisms, just helpful hints for different results. Question, why is corn syrup band in the UK?

Hi, guys. First I loooove listening to your British accents! You did pretty well with most of your meal. But, here in the south part of the USA, we typically use corn bread for the basic part of our stuffing. We add onion, celery, salt and pepper, and, of course chicken stock. Then it all goes inside the turkey. Most people have certain routines for how long the turkey stays in the oven (did you call the oven a "hob"? We typically buy a huge turkey, so there is plenty of room for the stuffing. We use a lot of gravy on top of most anything! So, guys, your turkey meal was well done! In the northern states, they use just bread and other gross stuff. Like oysters. I just can't eat stuffing made like that! Oh, and the flag and maple leaf additions were great! See you on your next blog. Stay well!

Family would start pouring in at about 9 am. My Dad had 9 siblings and Mom had 16. Not all would come over but we still hosted somewhere between 50 and 75 guests every year.
