To the woman who didn’t want her biscuit with gravy, but wanted it with jam, the answer is - go ahead. American biscuits are Bi, bi-flavourful. Have them with jam (strawberry, orange marmalade, raspberry, whatever you want), golden syrup, honey, sorghum syrup, etc. Or have them savoury, with fried chicken gravy, chicken fried steak gravy, red eye gravy, etc. Or serve them with hash (chopped up left-over roast - beef, chicken or turkey - dipped in a little flour, salt, and pepper, moistened with some water - not too much - and cooked up in a cast iron skillet where you’ve already sautéed chopped onions in butter or pork fat drippings (or lard) split open the biscuits fresh out of the oven and spoon the hash on top, OMG that is good! If you like meat pies I defy you to not fall in love with biscuits and hash. The difference is, unlike scones, you don’t add sugar or dried fruit to the biscuit dough so it can swing both ways😄 The other big difference is biscuits are rarely served at room temperature (they’re more crumbly in texture than scones and don’t hold up as well as scones when they go cold).
It’s the “bi flavorful” for me 🤭🤣 You’re right!!!! ESP about the definition of an American scone. US literally stole every culture’s pastries and bastardized them-honestly I’m not too mad about it 🥲🤣
This place is made up of people who came from everywhere. They brought their food with them voluntarily (with the exception of Native people and kidnapped Africans}. Things changed over time as food cultures mixed together. Its own separate culture was created. I agree, it's not a bad thing.

@@allisonmb1930 I'm sure it drives them crazy that we've bastardized the English language. It's not that they're comparing the two, it's that we call it by a different name. @@the2tum I don’t think that’s entirely true. Popeyes biscuits are dense similar to how scones are dense but many biscuit recipes in the US are light and flaky and not all like scones. I watched some UK UA-camrs try flaky biscuits and say they didn’t have anything exactly like that in Britain. I don’t think anyone would ever cover a scone with sausage gravy because of all the sugar in scones. And we also eat scones in the US. Ours usually have fruit in them.
The fact that y’all didn’t give them Mardi Gras mustard, sweet heat sauce or jelly is ludicrous. But it also speaks volume to the quality and flavor of Popeyes. They were able to enjoy it without all the bells and whistles or even a drink lol.

They were trying to be negative at the start but that crispy chicken brought them around straight away! They should have an American tell them about what they are eating!
Fun fact, they majority of words British people say Americans renamed are actually the original names of them, the Brit’s renamed thousands of things in the 17-18th century and the American immigrants were too far away and stubborn to change how they said it Funnily enough, the most widely known “American” word soccer, was originally the British pronunciation that was exported to America

I felt her. I also love jam, jelly, preserves, honey on biscuits
It’s the “bi flavorful” for me 🤭🤣
You’re right!!!!
Teach!!!!!!!
she needs to try a honey butter chicken biscuit from whataburger next. That sweetness with the biscuit & chicken is so satisfying
LMAO to the 1000000 SCONE references, never thought of a Popeyes biscut as a scone
The way they give them no water for that biscuit 😭
Thats actually a war crime. Just looked it up.

I'm a need some soda or something. 🤣🤣🤣
They should have brought them Popeye's red beans and rice to try! Or Dirty rice. I don't know anyone who eats biscuits and gravy at Popeyes, but the rice is a must!
Yes! Their beans and rice are a gift from God! And I’m wondering where that gravy came from bc I never noticed it on the menu😂😂
I didn’t even know Pooeye’s had gravy. 😂😂 I was so confused when they brought that out. The red beans and rice is a staple.

Next time try more Georgia treats such as fried okra, grits & shrimp, and the heavenly delight of Brunswick stew. Also pecan pie & peach cobbler.
No disrespect to Georgia, but Louisiana just has its own unique cuisine. Hence, the global appeal of Popeye's (and cajun/creole food)...
@@jodizzle6321the foods listed above are considered soul/southern food, of which creole derived from along with French and spanish influence. Soul food has a equally delicious global appeal and taste. Its like trying to compare sisters, one is not better than the other since they stem from the same tree
Those are all good but shrimp and grits is a Charleston og! I’m a native Georgian but my daddy is from Charleston, Savannah does it pretty well too though but thats SC claim to fame😂
They forgot to give the honey with the biscuits. You are correct, Popeyes biscuit will choke you to death without the honey. Also, we have scones and they are not biscuits.
It drives me mildly nuts when people compare biscuits to scones.
@@allisonmb1930 because in the uk/australia the US biscuits are called scones lol
@@allisonmb1930 I'm sure it drives them crazy that we've bastardized the English language. It's not that they're comparing the two, it's that we call it by a different name. Our biscuits are their scones, and their biscuits are our cookies. It's like jelly/jam/jello, what we call jelly they call jam and what we call jello they call jelly.
@@anndeecosita3586 Those light and flaky biscuits are the ones from the can. Real biscuits are dense.

This has to be the best promotion for Popeyes. Wow! This is why you should really take the time to create a brand that people love.
Why did BuzzFeed only choose Black British people to try fried chicken?
@Joe Schmoe because white people complain about a tiny bit of spice and alot don't know how to season or what's it suppose to taste like lol
@@CasiodorusRex you don't understand what culture is do you
I like to come back to this video whenever I see a British person argue that they make better fried chicken there than in America lol
The fact that y’all didn’t give them Mardi Gras mustard, sweet heat sauce or jelly is ludicrous. But it also speaks volume to the quality and flavor of Popeyes. They were able to enjoy it without all the bells and whistles or even a drink lol.
Right?! Not even honey or Cajun Sprinkle
Gotta have the mustard!

I felt the same way about the chicken sandwich. Its just done so well, consistent, and by a big chain no less.
They were trying to be negative at the start but that crispy chicken brought them around straight away! They should have an American tell them about what they are eating!
Fun fact, they majority of words British people say Americans renamed are actually the original names of them, the Brit’s renamed thousands of things in the 17-18th century and the American immigrants were too far away and stubborn to change how they said it
Funnily enough, the most widely known “American” word soccer, was originally the British pronunciation that was exported to America
i was going to add soccer to your comment, and then i clicked read more. america, fuck yeah.
You’ve got to try their honey on the biscuit. I’m glad they enjoyed it!!
