HAHAHAHHA Dang
2:12 “I also feel like americans like to rename things because they dont want to admit they took it from us” that’s EXTREMELY bold coming from a brit 💀
the irony in that is insane 😂
She's delusional. She's not even white but is talking about "Americans stole from US." 🥴 GIRL YOUR PEOPLE WEREN'T EVEN IN ENGLAND YET 😂
She knows the truth, no matter where she is from 😊
Especially because she’s probably a first generation Brit at that!
I agree...especially when using American slang and mannerisms
"Anything that has Louisiana on it; you can trust it." As a Louisianaian, I approve this message.
Facts
On me
She said that and, as a Louisiana woman, I immediately loved her.
Same!!!!
Crazy that even from the UK she knew that!
We have to talk about how the production team was trying to kill them, by not giving them any sweat tea to drink with those biscuits 🤣🤣
As a Southern woman, my advice is that you have to have the biscuits with honey and something to drink!
I'm Mexican and I always eat my biscuits with the honey and the unsweetened tea. I'm happy to hear I was doing it right.
Biscuits with syrup as well
Orange Drank
Don't forget the butter on that honey biscuit!
I'm northern and u do the same!!!
As somebody from New Orleans, I have never put gravy on my biscuit from Popeyes. I didn't even know they gave you gravy separately lol
Period. Lmao
I had no clue there was an option to have biscuits and gravy there either. 🤣
Honey only!
@@shutupandeatasmr4498 tbh I didn’t even know they had honey either until I went to college 😬😂
I’m from the south and I never seen anyone order biscuits and gravy from Popeyes
I always hear from Brits that our food isn't as greasy as they were expecting. And that tells me that maybe y'all are not doing something right over there across the pond. If fried food is greasy, your oil isn't hot enough. Or it's old and needs to be changed out. Gotta have your oil up to temp before you put food in it, otherwise the food will just absorb the oil and it'll come out greasy. When the oil is hot enough, the food starts cooking right away and it seals the food pretty quickly under the batter.
Absolutely. They also don’t put the food on a rack to let the oil drip
No its bc we assume that all American fast food is greasy our food isn’t that greasy
Fun fact, they majority of words British people say Americans renamed are actually the original names of them, the Brit’s renamed thousands of things in the 17-18th century and the American immigrants were too far away and stubborn to change how they said it
Funnily enough, the most widely known “American” word soccer, was originally the British pronunciation that was exported to America
i was going to add soccer to your comment, and then i clicked read more. america, fuck yeah.
This is adorable. Hear me out, Popeyes in Louisiana is a totally different experience. Come visit.
And guess what, SPECIFICALLY in New Orleans it's better. If you venture like 45 min outside of New Orleans, Popeyes somehow changes. But yeah I was thinking the same thing their experience is almost certainly toned down. I don't think they even are getting the spicy chicken and spicy sandwich options!
Yes!!! I was eating Popeyes every day for my 7 day stay sometimes twice. Can I get the 3 piece!
You got me wanting to go to New Orleans!
What makes it so much better in New Orleans?
My cousins didn’t TOUCH Popeyes unless it was from Louisiana 😂
Aww! They didn't serve them Cajun Fries, or Red Beans and Rice. I was waiting to see them try those. I am glad to see, that they did enjoyed what was served to them.
I don't think we have red beans and rice yet
They should have given them that instead of the wings and jelly for the biscuit.
I said that to wheres the fries
Red beans and rice would blow their minds.
They may not have them on the menu.
It’s hilarious how much the pickles add to the chicken sandwich. It just adds a perfect flavor along with the chicken, bun and mayo. Simple yet perfect.
Lol the way they all were hunched down, looking at the food, turning it over and over again in their hand so they can inspect and appreciate it was funny and joyful to see. 😂❤
“I understand…I understand the madness…I would have fought for this as well.” No better validation than this.
And that she went right for that second bite before she'd hardly chewed the first one, and with her eyes closed - she was for sure loving that sandwich.
The one who said the biscuits needed jam is 100% correct!! Even better is honey on them. That's the real chef's kiss 😌 I've never in my life eaten a Popeyes biscuit with gravy before.
^^^^ this so much. I've never dipped em in gravy it's always split em apart, butter on one side jam on the other then back together for the om nom nom. Especially after a bite of chicken so you get the sweet, savory, buttery flavors all together.
I thought the same thing.
@@Drknow1984 fatty boomsticks
I like to drizzle the gravy over my chicken.
I bring them home and put strawberry jam on them 🤤🤤
I laugh everytime I hear them call it a chicken burger😂
It's in a burger bun, it's a burger. That's how most people outside the US defines a burger.

Brits experiencing flavor for the first time makes me smile
they’re black so it’s different 💀 they’re seasoned
theyre always so amazed lol. its funny to see
Naaah these are Black Brits we all grew up in African and Carribean households and cooking they definitely know about seasoning more than you "African" Americans don't disrespect us, White brits on the other hand you are 100% correct they can't season for shit.
@@secretagent9474 right 😂
The british are so unused to eating food with seasoning other than brown sauce ( it's like catsup with spoiled hot sauce mixed in) that their atrophied taste buds interpret flavor as being a defect in how it's supposed to Taste ,

People were getting straight up MURKED for $3.49 + tax 😂😂😂😂😂
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I remember those days. I was like, folk losing their sh!t over a five dollar sandwich? I love Popeyes though, beats the competition easily.
I remember trying it the first time during the craze, took me over an hour to get my sandwich. I literally just looked at my friend after I finished it and told her were going back in line for another lol.
I think someone got shot for 3.49 + tax too 😂🤦🏽♀
@@max2082 it was definitely worth it. Definitely the best chicken sandwich I’ve eaten
Y’all did them dirty with the gravy and the biscuits 😂😂😂 We never eat it with gravy. Either jelly or honey.
You eat Popeyes chicken with biscuits and jam for dinner?
@@b2kzangelalwayz lunch or dinner. Also fried chicken and waffles is pretty big for brunch
What wat?
Jelly?
not that kind of gravy but white gravy and its breakfast lol
Okay?! Where's the jelly?
I love Brits sense of humor. Extra entertaining to see them respond to American fast food! By the way… since when did Popeye’s serve gravy with the biscuits… I think they stop doing that 10 years ago lol
Next time try more Georgia treats such as fried okra, grits & shrimp, and the heavenly delight of Brunswick stew. Also pecan pie & peach cobbler.
No disrespect to Georgia, but Louisiana just has its own unique cuisine. Hence, the global appeal of Popeye's (and cajun/creole food)...
@@jodizzle6321the foods listed above are considered soul/southern food, of which creole derived from along with French and spanish influence. Soul food has a equally delicious global appeal and taste. Its like trying to compare sisters, one is not better than the other since they stem from the same tree
Those are all good but shrimp and grits is a Charleston og! I’m a native Georgian but my daddy is from Charleston, Savannah does it pretty well too though but thats SC claim to fame😂
A Popeyes opened near us recently and my mom wanted to get some. I said "Let me check the reviews first." It was like 2.8 stars out of 5. The words unprofessional, slow and ghetto were used in a lot of the complaints. I said "Bet!" so we went and got some. It was delicious.
😂😂😂😂
🤣🤣 All those reviews are correct… but the food is still 🔥 🤣😋
The more ratchet the spot, the harder the food hits
That’s just Popeyes
That’s just part of the Popeyes experience 🤷🏽♀️🤣🤣
As an American, it kind of breaks my heart that Popeyes hasn't been in the UK. It's so good. Just happy it's opening up now.
Popeyes is the best. I want some spicy chicken now!
That's because they fell in love with KFC, Other chicken places were placed in certain areas.
Popeye's competition in the US in terms of global expansion in the fried chicken biz is Jollibee. KFC have been stagnant and the other good fried chicken shops in the US are kind of regional, unlike Popeye's where most Americans have ate or tasted it. So it's Popeye's turn to take that next step going global.
@@Fabulos1 hardly anyone in the uk eats at KFC, we prefer local chicken shops with actual flavour
@@Kingcloudii speaking for urself

Teeyana is funny..the more bites she takes, the more American she sounds 😂
You noticed that too lol
Right...😂😂😂🤣
Popeyes will do that to folks!😂😂😂

Her lipstick stayed in place the whole time. I was astonished!
I wonder if the Popeyes customer service will be the same in the UK. Issa whole experience mate 😂😭
I laughed so hard at this cz it’s so true 😂😂
🤣🤣
My neighbor Popeyes has NEVER gotten my order right. I have a love/hate relationship with that restaurant. Lol
I hope not😂😂😂
Literally😭
Nah, they can’t do that here 😂 we’re complainers and Karen’s about getting what we paid for
Way too cute - I enjoyed their reactions! How honest and so sweet. So what does fried chicken taste like in the UK? I would love to see US tasting UK chicken dishes!
Its kinda oily, not deep crispy but when its good its quite flavourful and tender
I love this reaction. England has some beautiful Queens. I loved the smiles. U.K is our Fam. Great reaction.
As a Black American, I have to say ya'll understood the assignment. A+ for everyone!
Popeyes has better than Canes. I would recommend the burgers at Fosters freeze in Carson, CA if they are visiting that area.

Yesss😂😂😂🥰

OMG yes! After she didn't like the biscuits with gravy( jam, jelly or honey is better on the biscuits) I thought, she was going to be the one that didn't like it.🤔 When she took that bite😳 she was hooked😂😂🤣🤣
She looked like she never had anything so good in her life. Her eyes said everything 😂😂😂
Popeyes make u do that
The mashed potatoes & gravy & red beans and rice mixed with extra gravy is soooo frickin’ gooddd. I also love to break my chicken up and mix it in as well. Sooo good.
We don’t put gravy on Popeyes biscuits. The gravy we put on biscuits is a white, (usually) sausage gravy. Brown gravy tends to be more for meat, rice and potatoes.
The lady in white was living her best life. Sis was happy fr 😭😭😭😭
She was pure entertainment.
As a guy who grew up in Louisiana this put a smile on my face. The chicken just hits different in Louisiana. I wish they could try out Southern Classic fried chicken. Its a trademark in Shreveport that you have to try if you're in the city.
Shreveport as in True Blood? Didn't think it's a real place 🤣. Super cool
Omg yess!! As a Shreveport native I agree!
Cars will be lined up around the block to get that chicken!
Whew! That Classic! I miss it
I went to Grambling State so I feel you on the Popeye being different in Louisiana. I live in DC now but frequently want to get on a plane to get some REAL chicken in Louisiana. 🧆🍗
Popeyes employee here. We dont give a cup of gravy with biscuits, although im sure we would if asked for it.
In Florida y'all do thanx
It's so nice to see them enjoy themselves.
When those chicken sandwiches were first introduced here in the US, they caused a frenzy. They totally sold out nationwide in a few weeks and we had to wait months for them to get enough chicken breasts to satisfy the demand.
In true American style someone was killed trying to skip the line to get that chicken sandwich.
It’s crazy looking back at it😂
when the sandwich came out in my city, they sold out in 3 days. supposedly they had a 3-month supply stocked up but the initial sales were crazy.. i remember seeing cars lined up for blocks at the drive-thru.

I love them calling the chicken sandwich a “chicken burger” 🤣🤣🤣. Loved this! So happy they enjoyed it, as if it’s my recipe 😂
so my mom is from ireland and i was there when i was little like 30 years ago and i ordered a hamburger and literally got a piece of fried ham steak on a burger bun - they called hamburgers "beef burgers" then not sure if they still do now but they do the logical, literal thing over there
@@dummypants hamburgers are named after
Hamburg, Germany because they originated there.
@@statementpeace Yeah, but tbf the Hamburg steak, which is made of ground beef, came before the hamburger, and the only reason it's called a hamburger is because of the Hamburg steak, which again, is made with ground beef.
I used to live in Germany, and their McDonald's called anything between a circular piece of bread a "burger". Fish burger, chicken burger, veggie burger, etc.
@@cf7833 yep, same here in the UK, pretty much everything between a bun is a burger. We are saying the same thing, I clarified that the reason why it’s called a hamburger is Hamburg, not because of literal “ham” (pork meat).
In the US “biscuits and gravy” is a specific dish with white gravy and meat topped over biscuits (not a Louisiana food btw). We don’t really eat biscuits and brown gravy like y’all did and as a Creole girl from Louisiana I can assure no one where I’m from does this 😂😂😂
You have to try the spicy chicken sandwich ! OMG ! I am in love with it ! And of course the spicy chicken itself. Mild is good, but spicy let's you enjoy the flavors !
"I'm trying to get big bites in case you're trying to take it away." That reaction had me on the floor. I'm glad that they enjoyed the food. I wonder will the British Popeyes will have Cajun Fries, Red Beans & Rice, and Dirty Rice.
The Dirty Rice was disco'd in Jan '21. I'm still mad about it..

I was wondering that about the spicy and thinking that about the gravy too! I think I tried a KFC biscuit with gravy before tho…
But we should start
@@pimpenstein right tho. Like I’m surprised we never thought of that. We mostly just use honey on top.

I’m saying 😂😍💯
To the woman who didn’t want her biscuit with gravy, but wanted it with jam, the answer is - go ahead. American biscuits are Bi, bi-flavourful. Have them with jam (strawberry, orange marmalade, raspberry, whatever you want), golden syrup, honey, sorghum syrup, etc. Or have them savoury, with fried chicken gravy, chicken fried steak gravy, red eye gravy, etc.
Or serve them with hash (chopped up left-over roast - beef, chicken or turkey - dipped in a little flour, salt, and pepper, moistened with some water - not too much - and cooked up in a cast iron skillet where you’ve already sautéed chopped onions in butter or pork fat drippings (or lard) split open the biscuits fresh out of the oven and spoon the hash on top, OMG that is good! If you like meat pies I defy you to not fall in love with biscuits and hash. The difference is, unlike scones, you don’t add sugar or dried fruit to the biscuit dough so it can swing both ways😄 The other big difference is biscuits are rarely served at room temperature (they’re more crumbly in texture than scones and don’t hold up as well as scones when they go cold).
I felt her. I also love jam, jelly, preserves, honey on biscuits
It’s the “bi flavorful” for me 🤭🤣
You’re right!!!!
ESP about the definition of an American scone. US literally stole every culture’s pastries and bastardized them-honestly I’m not too mad about it 🥲🤣
This place is made up of people who came from everywhere. They brought their food with them voluntarily (with the exception of Native people and kidnapped Africans}. Things changed over time as food cultures mixed together. Its own separate culture was created. I agree, it's not a bad thing.

It drives me mildly nuts when people compare biscuits to scones.
@@allisonmb1930 because in the uk/australia the US biscuits are called scones lol
@@allisonmb1930 I'm sure it drives them crazy that we've bastardized the English language. It's not that they're comparing the two, it's that we call it by a different name. Our biscuits are their scones, and their biscuits are our cookies. It's like jelly/jam/jello, what we call jelly they call jam and what we call jello they call jelly.
@@the2tum I don’t think that’s entirely true. Popeyes biscuits are dense similar to how scones are dense but many biscuit recipes in the US are light and flaky and not all like scones. I watched some UK UA-camrs try flaky biscuits and say they didn’t have anything exactly like that in Britain.
