if the purple potatoes the recipe called for meant something like blue andes potatoes then it's too bad you weren't able to find any! Besides just the color, they do have a unique, kind of nutty taste that sets them apart from a russet or yukon gold type of potato and I bet they would have been really good in that stew.
I would for a bit more alien vibes recommend purple carrots, they would colour everything deeply purple an get white
I never heard of the blue Andes potatoes before
They also have a different starch content and slightly different texture. They are my favorite and so cute, too! 🥰
There's currently about 4-5 thousand types of tubers (potatoes) throughout the world! Apparently, most are found in the Andes. Though, many of them are way too bitter for human enjoyment
Just a random fact
A few pointers for why your dought didn't work. if the water is too hot, it will kill the yeast. A good temperature is 110F. Also I am not sure why the recipe would tell you to add salt to yeast because it also kills the yeast. If you were to make it again I would suggest adding the warm water, sugar and yeast together and let it bloom for 5 mins (it will start to bubble) then add that to your dry mix of flour, spices and salt (though you should blend all your dry together first). The oil can be added at that time as well and it should be better. Also cover with plastic wrap and a dish towel and leave it in a warm area. if your house is a bit cold it may be better to let it rise in your oven just for a controlled temperature area. I hope it helps you 😊 Can't wait to see your next video!
There's a guy who does a lot of videos about bread making and he tested the salt and was shocked to find no difference... That said this feels different, I don't remember what order he mixed it in, but I feel like it was different from this, maybe it bloomed separately from the salt and then just got mixed directly with the salt.
Yeah, he didn't activate the yeast first.
Literally came here two years later to point out the salt! I see this so often in recipes even though that’s like the first rule of bread.
Yeast is always such a funny lil moody ingredient haha. Thank you for showing this book off , I might pick it up since my husband is a big fan of Star Wars ! (I hope you think of doing more recipies from previous cook books ! Im always curious about some of them)
Thanks for watching! Yeah I'm definitely going to be revisiting previous cookbooks. Just gotta find the time!
He's gone back and done more from the Destiny, Fallout, Pokemon and Elder Scrolls books, the videos just don't mention cookbooks in the title.
@@MisoHungrie It's possible that your yeast failed because of the salt in the water and wasn't left to bloom. Salt and yeast have to be kept separate most often, as the salt will kill the yeast. Next time, leave the salt out of the water and let the yeast "bloom" for a few minutes. The liquid mixture should foam up a little. Then add your dry ingredients.
Yeast could’ve also been dead since that can cause issues
@@MisoHungrie so with the yeast its usually supposed to sit and foam up for 10 min in just the sugar and water, must be slightly above luke warm. the oil and salt probably prevented it from growing.
"A surprise, to be sure, but a welcome one"
Oh man, you couldn't end this video any better than this reference 😄
Hopefully the official D&D cookbook will appear one of these days!
That’d be a good one to do
It will! I have a long queue of cookbooks to do but that's on it
hate to remind you but D&D is for nerds
@@fartdoodoostinkfart6864 I mean so's Star Wars but you still clicked on this video so...
@@BJGvideos star wars is for manly men last time i checked
This was actually my first cookbook that I owned, and I absolutely loved it. It's also great that this cookbook is officially canon to Star Wars, and the authors wrote it in character as Strono Tuggs, who is officially my favorite Star Wars character.
Yeah it's pretty cool! Eventually I wanna try the baking and Life Day ones as well
The blue milk is super interesting and creative. As was the wrap which looked way better than the themepark version (though I guess there's only do much you can do with themepark food).
As for why it didn't rise: Maybe the place you stored it wasn't warm enough? If I have troubles with my dough, I just put it in the oven for half an hour at about 50 C° (obvs w/o the plastic wrap). But also that's just how yeast sometimes acts. Fresh yeast usually gets better results, but that's also no guarentee. A moody lil thing. 😅
Yeah I tried rescuing it with the oven thing but to no avail. Just wasn't happening for me 🥲
themepark food has efficiency as a major point of prep, the less time they need to spend making anything makes getting through the lines of impatient folk so much easier
I really enioyed the video, as always! I've been looking forward to you covering this cookbook.
Since I bake a lot and used to struggle with bread too, my two best guesses when comes to your dough not rising, besides the water temperature, are:
1. Adding the salt directly into the water mixture instead of mixing it in with the flour, since salt can kill yeast
2. You possibly didn't let the yeast sit with just the water and sugar for about 5 minutes and get foamy before adding in everything else
Ahh yeah that could be the case. Baking is such a science! Thanks for the tips ☺️
Contrary to popular belief, salt does not kill yeast unless you're talking like 60%+ saline water. Half a teaspoon of salt in 3/4th a cup of water killing a whole package of yeast is... silly.
Honestly, the olive oil was probably the real culprit. Oil and water don't mix, but yeast and oil do. The yeast gets covered in oil and it inhibits the hydration of the yeast.
Next time, mix in everything *but* the olive oil and let the yeast bloom. You'll know it when you see it.
...and this one might be a silly moment but:
Make sure to check the expiration date on your yeast.
@@veraducks Or the yeast could've just been dead. Yeast is a living organism. The stuff we buy is just yeast in hibernation.
@@oneblacksun That's why I brought up checking the expiration date at the end.
The cookbook series is so entertaining!
Just bought this cookbook so that my family and I can try some new dishes, while also eating some themed food as we watch Obi-Wan every week. We’re making the Bespin Cloud Dropsp, the Sweet-Sand Cookies, and some of the drinks like the Coruscant Cooler and the Hyperdrive.
I’m glad to hear that you enjoyed the food in here, and I can’t wait to make them! Really excited for the Mandalorian Uj Cake, Mustafarian Lava Buns and so many more! Also, I now want to try the Mandalorian Stew since you said it wasn’t actually that spicy! (I’m a wimp when it comes to spice XD).
But yeah, I can also recommend this book and I hope I can try out all the recipes someday!
Nice! I also really wanna try the Cloud cookies and the lava buns! I've yet to start watching Obi-Wan but I can't wait for the series to finish so I can binge watch it all in one go!
Now that is how you enjoy watching a show.
That stew looked sooooo good, and I loved the le creuset pot LOL
It was! And yeah I love that pot, so reliable
You picked three of my favorite recipes. And for the purple potato, I use a purple yam. It compliments the apple really well.
Nice! Purple yam sounds like a really good substitute
These videos are super relaxing and comforting. I was having a pretty bad day and this was a nice way to switch off, so thank you
I made the ronto wraps and added some paprika to both the filling and the dough -- it was the perfect addition! it added a wonderful smokey quality to the meat and the wraps ended up a really cool orange color that was very appealing
This is definitely the recipe you’re looking for.
I started watching your videos and now I can’t stop! Love the format, delivery, and content 😍😍
Your channel is so underrated. Keep up the good work!
Thank you!!
That stew looks so delicious 🥣
These cookbook videos are really fun to watch!
Glad you like them!
I have been waiting for this for soooo long. I love this cookbook.
Wooohooo! I feel so inspired! Love this series
These videos are so fun and soothing, I’ve been playing them in the back while I cook 🥰 The ronto wraps look tasty af!!
Such an underrated series. Love it!
I love these cookbook vids! Nice work!
I might have to try this trio! They all looked so good
Absolutely love your channel dude keep up the great work :)
I've been busy with work so I haven't been able to see many of your videos for a while but I'm back and The Star Wars cookbook and recipes actually look and sound really good haven't been able to get it yet but I will soon. Welcome back and thanks for your support! I totally get it, my work has been super busy too and it's hard to find the time to focus on everything. Good luck to you and I hope you're getting some good rest in between!
i love your videos, its one of the reasons I started experimenting with recipes
Glad to hear it! Hope you're having fun in the kitchen 👍
It amazes me how your channel isn't big enough these videos are so we'll made

love your content keep it up miso!
I absolutely love your video platform keep up the great work you'll make it in no time.
I'm going to keep watching and liking these videos until your channel blows up
I love the videos, keep it up!
I got my favorite taco meat from the ronto wrap. It's a bit sweet, but the chorizo sausage really adds to it. And the park version also was wrapped in chicken or turkey, it was good
Glad to hear the park version is good 👍
OOOH i know what would be cool, an avatar the last airbender cookbook
Does that exist? I would love to see that!, and a Genshin impact cookbook if they ever release one
Definitely on my list!
Keep doing these please
Love it
The tea looks really cool tbh
Just recently made the mandalorian stew, cayenne was a welcome addition! Gave it a nice tingle without making it too spicy to handle.
I would love if you revisited some of these cookbooks and try even more recipes. I love your cookbook series! 💯
Oooo looks good! Might buy this one for myself!
It's a really cool cookbook! I definitely recommend
Great review!
Bro and his content deserves at LEAST a million subscribers
Thank you so much! Appreciate the support
Star wars and food is the perfect combination
That stew looks so good.
That bantha blue milk looks absolutely incredible
let's go, love watching these.
Another great video as always! I got my friend the one-piece book based on your other video and he loved it, so this should have my star wars friend covered
Lol that's awesome. Glad your friend liked the OP cookbook!
The king has returned
I have this cook book. My kids love the Mandalorian Stew and Nerf Kabobs.
Those kabobs look so cool! I wanna try them out also
Really enjoy your videos! :)
Thanks so much! Glad you like them 😄
Great video
I always end up buying something as a result of these videos. This cookbook is just the latest thing!
I took a look at this at Barnes and Noble. Some of the recipes actually look pretty cool. I was particularly impressed that they took inspiration from some of the books too with things like Corellian Ryshcate from the X-Wing books. If I had one complaint, it would be that I was really hoping for a recipe for Tomo-spiced Karkan Ribenes from the Timothy Zahn novels. If it is in there and I missed it, someone please let me know, but I wanted to try those since I first read about them.
Great video 👍
Yay you did my request!
I gotchu fam 😎
Finally got to watching this one. I actually served the Ronto Wraps for my D&D group, and while I was finishing the prep on the meat mix and as my group was coming in, I was playing the Mos Eisley Cantina theme on my phone for ambiance.
Nice! Sounds like a fun time. And yeah the Mos Eisley song is so catchy
@@MisoHungrie I also had a selection of drinks available for the group, one of which was the Coruscant Cooler from the same book.
Nice video! Who would've thought
Very nice Video as always :)
Maybe for the next time the witcher theme cookbook ?
I really wanna try making all of these dishes!!! Also shout out to the David’s Tea bag 😎 I love their stuff soooo much
If you present the chai to someone add a few drops of lemon juice inside to change it to purple
I had a friend who like Star Wars and maybe he would like that cookbook.
This looks far better than the other star wars cookbook you reviewed more recently.
the stews looks really good
Important question: What is the functional difference of instant dry yeast to other forms? Because I've never seen it before. In my country yeast comes in little cubes. I don't know how other countries do it.
I have no idea. I don't bake often so there's a lot I still have to learn. Sorry!
This guy's is really cool! he deserves more attention
Thank you for the kind words ☺️
@@MisoHungrie :)
The tea was a good touch
I'm hoping we'll get the werewolf cookbook or mage cookbook from onyx path at some point. The mage one has so much stuff in it
I just ate but those ronto wraps look sooo good! I love me some chorizo!
Chorizo is amazing! 💗
funny how i can just pick butterfly pea flowers in my back yard right now lmao
Lucky! I wish had your backyard lol
Have you done a review of the HALO cook book yet? If not, I'd love to see it, I wonder how many tasty recipe's they have in there.
Coming soon!
@@MisoHungrie Cool, I can't wait to see what the Moa burger taste like, of course you'll be the one to do it since your the best chef around. We might as well "Kiss the Chief" get it? XD
I made the spicy mandalorian stew and it was absolutely delicious
The stew is really good, I found that adding some diced bell peppers brings it up a level
Ooo that's a good idea. Would add some nice pop of red color as well!
Yes! I was waiting for this one! This and the life day one they released a few months ago.
The life day one straight up is just like...stuff themed around the old holiday special and shit, and it seems pretty interesting. It's basically just a cookbook for christmas, i think. I haven't been lucky enough to get my hands on it yet. but from the recipes i've seen on the wiki, it seems like life day cookbook has the better recipes.
Also my only real criticism with the galaxy's edge cookbook is that the ronto wraps aren't the same as the ones in the park for some reason.
I got this cookbook last Christmas, as a gift from my aunt.
And i just LOVE it. I have made so many recipes from it (including the ronto wrap and bantha chai you showed) and they are just perfect. I have never had before a cookbook in which every single recipe i try simply works perfectly without tweaking anything, but this one is just perfect every time. Sure,, a few recipes aren't my favorite, but not because of any failing from the book!
A few of my opinions on some of the recipes (and also my personal recommendations!!)
Mimbanese Mudslide: perfect chocolate dessert. I've made this SO many times, i've lost count. It's just so tasty, even warm!
Zoochberry Surprise: such a great cheesecake recipe. I've had friends literally pay me to make this one for them, no joke. It's just THAT good. Highly recommend it! And it's super easy, too
Huttese Slime Pods: i just couldn't believe how good this recipe was. It looked gross (on purpose haha) but the flavor was mindblowing. It's a bit expensive to get the ingredients here where i live, otherwise i'd do this every week.
Moogan Tea: I didn't have much faith in this recipe, to be honest, but i wanted to give it a go. And im so glad i did, it was just so great! sweet and cold, perfect for summer, and particularly for people like me who love both tea and chocolate milk~
Overall, im just really happy with this cookbook, and it may be my favorite one ever. It's just great, it has so much variety, so many fun recipes, amazing pictures!! it has it all
Oh man, they should make "don't starve" into a cookbook!
That game kicked my butt but I would be all over that cookbook if it existed 👍
Does the Blue Pea Butterfly tea taste like much on it's own? If I get some I'd like to use it for more than just blue coloring; otherwise I could just use food coloring
I love this channel
Thanks Krohnos! Appreciate the support
The Tyroshi dessert reminds me of churros or funnel cake. If you recreate this, I’d suggest a piping bag for the batter since it’s kinda wet. 😊
Thanks for the tip!
Had some Blue Milk from Disney. Might have to pick this up!
About the purple potato.. I think it is really available.. It is sourced from Japan and maybe the violet pigment could also color the dish..
Edit: That Banta Milk Tea is amazing!! I knew that the butterfly pea flower could add blue pigment and has medicinal benefits!! But to add more spices to it is so amazing... I could feel that will be so delicious to drink!! 😍😍
Not a fan of Star Wars but this series is so interesting for me, since I have never had a fantasy inspired cook book!! This channel's content is amazing as always... Totally deserve more subs
Whole foods might have purple potatoes
Thanks! Glad you liked the video
You can get purple potatoes a lot of places. I think they mainly come from central and south America but they can grow anywhere potatoes are grown.
I own the cook book to and i also made the ronto wrap it was good. I don't like avocado so I didnt use it but it was still a awesome dish
I agree! I love the meat filling
4:00 I was able to find Garam Masala at a local Indian grocery store.
Got this book and the baking version as presents. All n all it’s pretty solid, recommend the nerf kebabs and the blurgfire(+tequila).
I love your videos :)
I've always been really interested in what the food is like in Star Wars and this cookbook really scratches that itch. Kinda disappointed the recipes aren't 1 for 1 with the stuff they serve at Disneyland, I would love to make Disneyland Ronto Wrap at home. Still all of the recipes in here look absolutely amazing and I really hope you revisit this cookbook in the future to show off more recipes.
I'll definitely be revisiting this cookbook! So many more cool recipes I wanna try
It makes sense they aren’t 1:1 with what Disney sells (it forces you to actually buy food from them if you want to try their food)
Looking forward for you to make hopfully whatever the Food Nipple might be from the Halo Cookbook in August. Cause this is a trend now that reached Halo
This channel is great. Sad I JUST discovered this gold mine
Welcome to the channel! Hope you enjoy the videos 😀
I actually have this one!
Though I haven't tried every single recipe, I'd still say the ones on here are pretty dang good (those tacos especially)
I also personally enjoyed the lore and thoughts of this books, Cookie. (Even if I'm not at all too well versed in Star wars lore beyond the movies and a bit of the shows, I still enjoyed it for what it is)
Nice! I agree, I think the recipes are top notch
would u say its a good gift for someone whos vegetarian? or are most dishes dependent on meat?
@@NuhUHey You can always substitute the meat out, so yea I think’s worth a go! Just let them know they’ll have to do substitutions first
If you don't have the time to make the Wrappers,
small Naan bread rounds are a good substitute.
I agree!
The expanse has belter kibble but i couldn't find a cookbook though since currently the show doesn't have one.
Excellent work as always, man! Any plans to review the Halo cookbook that came out recently?
Most definitely!
It didnt rise because you added the yeast on top of the salt before mixing making the salt deactivate the yeast . Learnt this in food tech lol
If blue milk doesn't show up I'm going to riot!
coxa de frango? eu amo isto!
chicken thigh? I love this!
Stoped playing skywalker saga to watch this video. This content is great 👍
Thanks for watching! Now back to the game! 😄
About the dough, maybe you should let the dry yeast activate first before you put all the other things.
I want a lot of the kitchenware that is pictured. The unique bowls, plates and condiment bottles. If anyone knows what they are called or see something similar, I’d love a reply.
The problem with your wraps was probably the salt. If yeast comes into direct contact with salt, it doesn't rise
Ahh, good to know! Ill keep that in mind
That is definitely not the case. You would need way more salt for that to have a significant effect
TIINGILAR!!! You made tiingilar!!! I wonder if they have Roba pie
Please tell me this book has a recipe for space waffles.
