For a runnier (non-chilled) version like the film: 1-1/2 cups whole milk 1 tablespoon sugar ½ teaspoon vanilla blue food gel dye and you can do whatever you want with this
Came here to say I made this drink and tweaked it JUST right to be 100% spot on. 1st thing, MELT the oil first. This helps it incorporate better. 2nd let these liquids "marinade" together in the fridge after blending REALLLLLLY well. Seriously I did this side by side with just doing everything immediately and the difference in flavor profile is crazy. 3rd and SUPER important, go lighter on the citric acid, Like the lightest of pinch realllllly does make it less "soured" and helps incorporate the flavors better without overpowering them. Still, this is definitely blue milk to a T!
We tried this out this past weekend (minus the liquid nitrogen...we put it in our ice cream maker instead) and it was VERY sugary. Had the familiar flavors of Blue Milk from the parks, but there was so much sugar it was hard to take more than a couple of sips. Wondering where we went wrong lol
We cut down the sugar from the recipe, about only 3/4, and it was still too sweet. I used the orange blossom water and it was tasty and unidentifiable like the park. I wonder if the pineapple would add anything.

Hey Greg, just wanted to say thanks for all the great content! We celebrated my wife's birthday this past weekend and did a makeshift home whiskey tasting...thing (she loves whiskey) where everyone brought a different type of whiskey to the party to taste. I rewatched several of your videos for inspiration on cocktails (especially the old fashioned ones) and made several different types of cocktails and it was a huge hit. Made my own demerara syrup for the first time and even did the whole 'light a match and use the orange zest to smoke the drink' maneuver. It made for a great time and I just wanted to say keep up the great work!
Hey, I asked for this some months ago! Thanks, Greg! Other youtubers, take note. The man pays attention and (eventually) responds to his fans! Awesome.
I appreciate how hard it is to make recreations of drinks, ewspecially from memory, but personally this doesn’t taste like the blue milk to me. I followed every step step by step and mine came out sickly sweet. I tried watering it down with ice and it made it barely drinkable, but the taste still seems quite off. I also had a problem with the coconut oil not really incorporating into the drink, but that could be completely on me. I am going to try it one more time, but will half the sugar and use only 3 drops of orange blossom, but I was so sad when it didn’t work out. Thank you for the video though,as I said earlier, it definitely is hard to recreate these drinks, especially when you don’t have easy access to them.
I just made it as well and my coconut oil did not incorporate. I will try this one more time and maybe warm everything up beforehand. I even put it in the blender, but it still is just chunky coconut oil. And it tastes nothing like the one in the park :( I'm very saddened by it

Jamba Juice launched a similar drink with blue spirulina right after Galaxy's Edge opened, called the Vanilla Blue Sky. You could totally do the star wars blue milk in a blender with frozen pineapple, coconut milk, and a little bit of orange or passionfruit-mango juice.
A note on liquid nitrogen safety do not wear long pants, or long sleeve shirts when using liquid nitrogen. Lidenfrost effect wont protect you against clothes soaked in liquid nitrogen, and you clothes become negative napalm. Tight fitting jewelry, like watches or rings are also a no when handling liquid nitrogen. As counter intuitive as it seems, the less coverage on your skin, the better.
I make blue milk by using a quarter cup of plain vanilla ice cream Half a cup of cow milk Some blue food coloring Blend it, serve, and enjoy. It tastes decently sweet, simple, and delicious. 😋😸👍
Hey, you mentioned the risk of skin/eye contact with liquid nitrogen, but there are additional risks worth mentioning in case anyone decides to try this at home. The first is the expansion ratio of liquid nitrogen. Liquid nitrogen expands at a ratio of 1:694 when it evaporates, displacing atmosphere, reducing the oxygen content of the air you're breathing. At the small amounts you use, the risk is low. However, an accidental spill of the primary container could easily create a risk of hypoxia in a small enclosed room. I don't know what your studio setup is, but if someone tries this in an apartment kitchen, they should open all windows, or better yet do this outdoors. Second, there is a chance someone could accidentally ingest liquid nitrogen that has not had enough time to boil off. The constant stirring should help it all evaporate before ingestion, but it's still a risk worth mentioning. There have been cases where people had to have portions of their esophagus and stomach removed because they ate marshmallows frozen with liquid nitrogen and didn't allow it to all evaporate first.
He mentioned that the coconut was mostly for texture, you could probably do without it entirely. I'd be surprised if you got the same results with most other oils, but common replacements for coconut oil would be grapeseed, sunflower, or palm oil. Palm oil is especially similar, but pretty unhealthy. Since the amount is so small I doubt it would be an issue one way or another.
I tried making a version of this, a recipe I found online and somehow it contained milk, blue curacao and amaretto .... as I didn't know better I made it and drank a glass... I had stomach aches for 3 full days, and actually had weird feelings in my stomach three weeks after that .... So suffices to say that I don't have fond memories of this drink hahah ^^ but this looks wayyy better
Blue milk was also really popular in some show called Breaking bad I think? They frize it cuz they're in the desert but people seemed to really like it
I work at the Milk Stand in Galaxy's Edge at Walt Disney World! This video was great and I love your Blue Milk! All you need is a Bubo Wambo Souvenir Sipper to complete the drink!
Dragon fruit tastes pretty much like nothing for those of you who are curious, no distinct flavor just a slight sweetness is a unique texture that’s somewhere near an overripe apple and a pear with tiny seeds in it. Typically they just use the name and the image the fruit for marketing so he doesn’t really need the dragon fruit in there.
So obviously you do a lot of drinks from/inspired by specific fictional universes. Have you considered drinks that don't come from a specific fictional universe but are kind of common to/inspired by a certain genre or something like that? Like generic high-fantasy health-/stamina-/magic-potion drinks?
Yes, ( I considered a "Space Cowboy" episode where I did drinks from Bebop + Firefly + and some 3rd thing) but it's probably not a great idea to do so. The reasoning behind this might sound crass but it's just reality, basically for the most part I find, that if people don't instantly recognize the thing in the thumbnail and ALREADY have a high degree of interest in that thing, they don't click it. At least not in the volume that I need them to for my content to not simply get absolutely buried in the sea of videos on UA-cam. It takes me a lot of work (and money) to make this show, and it doesn't make sense to make content that I know basically no one will wind up seeing.
@@howtodrink Dang. I had ideas about how I would make those generic potion drinks and was curious to see how you would make them. In that case, may I suggest Veritaserum from Harry Potter? I imagine you'd make something high-alcohol-content and then pour out shots of it, since it's a super-potent truth potion.
I'll just say that I actually watch a lot of your videos because the drink looks good whether I know the media you referenced or not, I don't have to be familiar with where the drink came from, I just click because it's intriguing, your videos are very high quality and fun to watch.

Hey, that's real neat, thanks greg. Coincidentally I'm going to be playing some ol' battlefront, I'd suggest you try it some time, if you like your star wars.
Fun trivia: The wolfman and devil characters from the cantina scene you mention are some of the early work of legendary mask and makeup artist Rick Baker. He was a freelance makeup guy who was experimenting with prosthetics in 1976 when a friend of his called up and asked if he wanted to work on a sci-fi film, and could he bring any crazy masks he'd been working on? Rick had made the devil horns and the wolfman mask as practice, so he grabbed them and a few other pieces and ran down to a newly founded place that called itself Industrial Light and Magic. The rest is Hollywood history.
Rice milk- didn't spill a drop. Blue spidadamanaba- Kobe bryant'ed every single grain. Liquid nitrogen- its supposed to look like that. Thousands of dollars of hard to find liquor- clean up on aisle everywhere. *EDIT* Fun fact of the day: did you know the words aisle and island are no way the same? "aisle" comes from a old Latin word that means "wing", and "island" comes from a combination of 2 old English words literally meaning "watery land". The more you know. 🌈🌠
Your bar gives off a great starwars vibe. I am a starwars nerd I love the disney area in Disney. But idk if it's just me or ur bar gives off a slight sifi vibe when you had certain camera angles. I think it's a great team to do there
My mother and my grandmother was making me blue, green, red, purple milk back in the late 60's early 70's and it's real easy. Milk, food coloring and they tossed in vanilla for flavor.
Be sure to work in a well ventilated area when liquid nitrogen is involved. The visible condensation is heavier than air and will creep along the counter but the gas released is almost exactly the density of air and it can fill the available space, reducing the oxygen needed to breathe. I wouldn't say don't risk it, but I would say to put a window fan in the window set on intake and run it on high to get the most outside air into your workspace that you possibly can.

There have been cases where people had to have portions of their esophagus and stomach removed because they ate marshmallows frozen with liquid nitrogen and didn't allow it to all evaporate first.
"satan and the wolfman are there"
WAIT, HAVE YOU ACTUALLY SEEN THE AURALNAUTS PARODY!?
Blue milk?! Oh hell yes! I've been looking forward to this.
Gaz twice the pride, double the fall
I'm allergic to coconut. Got any substitutions for coconut oil that you think will work well?
Palm oil?
He mentioned that the coconut was mostly for texture, you could probably do without it entirely. I'd be surprised if you got the same results with most other oils, but common replacements for coconut oil would be grapeseed, sunflower, or palm oil. Palm oil is especially similar, but pretty unhealthy. Since the amount is so small I doubt it would be an issue one way or another.
@@petergray2712 Thanks
@@dokidokiduckie Yeah I definitely wouldn't be drinking this every single day or anything, hahaha. Thanks for the other suggestions.
@@theoptimisticmetalhead7787 Yeah! Hopefully I was at least a little helpful haha
I'm a simple man: I see Greg dressed as Han Solo I click and like!!
Blue milk was also really popular in some show called Breaking bad I think? They frize it cuz they're in the desert but people seemed to really like it
Perks of being a Floridian: Disney is in your backyard.
The edit was absolutely nailed in this one ♥️
Concerned about protecting eyes.
Doesn't wear safety glasses.
Definitely a concoction that calls for eye protection! So cool! ...literally.
Do it how to drink
@@howtodrink Dang. I had ideas about how I would make those generic potion drinks and was curious to see how you would make them.
In that case, may I suggest Veritaserum from Harry Potter? I imagine you'd make something high-alcohol-content and then pour out shots of it, since it's a super-potent truth potion.
I'll just say that I actually watch a lot of your videos because the drink looks good whether I know the media you referenced or not, I don't have to be familiar with where the drink came from, I just click because it's intriguing, your videos are very high quality and fun to watch.
Trying your butter beer for Christmas. So excited!!
POINT OF ORDER:
The second ride opened last week.
I totally recognize that y'all probably filmed this before it was open, so legit, but I HAD TO OKAY?!
Not open at Disneyland yet. January 17th.
I've always wanted to make this milk, since Aunt Maru served it to Luke and Aunt Owen in A New Hope. Epic!
This "BLUE" my expectations out of the water!
Dad joke #56
Shout out to your editor for adding the names. Great work!!
Greg this is incredible. My Rise of Skywalker experience will now be complete.
His name is Nien Nunb not Nien Nubn
I mean, are the editors even Star Wars fans? Smh
This was sarcasm, btw if anyone is actually offended.
@Reynaldo Lara :(
Your bar gives off a great starwars vibe. I am a starwars nerd I love the disney area in Disney. But idk if it's just me or ur bar gives off a slight sifi vibe when you had certain camera angles. I think it's a great team to do there
Blue Milk DIY:

My mother and my grandmother was making me blue, green, red, purple milk back in the late 60's early 70's and it's real easy. Milk, food coloring and they tossed in vanilla for flavor.
There’s no alcohol in this. Are you trying to poison me?

We just going to pretend the "Green Milk" scene never happened. Ok.
This guy is totally what you get if Kevin Smith and Mac from "It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia" had a child together. Awesome channel!
