@@lizapb You would be surprised how many people deny he has an episode during that scene or even argue that it is a good thing for his development.
@@Louves192 I think he’d be open to trying things for his own enjoyment after his personal quest but he still needs time to heal and to really enjoy sex in this case. That said I don’t find it all that bad letting him try and do it. He finds himself still not enjoying it but not that he is objecting to trying.
@@Louves192 yeah, I think people just really want him to be poly. But in my opinion, the developers should have chosen for this someone without such extreme sexual trauma. I think it suffers from being a very late addition in the process. For example, both Shadowheart and Minthara think he doesn't want to share Tav at all.
I love the moment of consent in the Sharess’ Caress scene with Astarion feeling able to say no when he expresses that he isn’t comfortable doing anything with the drow twins yet. I really appreciate this line for his character considering Astarion’s past of being controlled and used by Cazador, and his struggle rediscovering his ability to make his own choices after escaping Cazador. This game has amazing writers along with incredible actors! 😊 Neil and Tom, thanks for always making this a safe and inclusive space! These playthroughs are always a highlight of my day. Neil secretly sneaking items to Tom cracks me up! 😂

50:22 who else as an Astarion romancer does this scene BECAUSE he says no? I do it every time, not because I want us to sleep with the Drow twins, but because I want to hear him say he’s not comfortable with it. To me, it’s an important moment of growth for his character. He’s learning that he can say no, and be honest about how he’s feeling. And Tav/Durge won’t judge or shame him for it.
And the line afterwards is so sweet. “Ugh, stop being so nice to me. It makes me want to be nice back.”
Those expressions while putting junk in Asra's unknowing pocket are pretty great drawing references.

Ehr, yes. The goblin camp, the Grymforge and Moonrise were an *_absolute_* veritable *BLOODBATH!* We didn't leave a soul standing (well, except for Roah and her crew at both the camp and Moonrise, that Drow chick that wanted Astarion to bite her, she fled, and that one Duergar dude that was charting the statues and the like in Grymforge). So, uh, in *that* respect, I was more brutal/chaotic than Neil/Astarion was. Tom/Asra wouldn't approved.

Hey, uh... I dunno how you forgot the reason/s why Astarion wouldn't be into a foursome, lol. I know it's been years, but still.
I already replied to a comment like this, saying that it's kinda wierd how much pressure some fans put on Neil. Although i get ur thought process, the way you guys are acting makes it seem as though he was upset at astarion for not agreeing or something of that sorts. It has been years and there were millions of lines so expecting him to remeber off the top of his head astarion's reasonings, especially when he 1. hasn't played the game before and 2. didn't get the line where astarion said it feels tainted and they won't do it for aslong as he needs, is something i wouldn't really say is impossible to remeber but also wouldn't be suprised if he forgot it.

@@oceanicGrimalkin I won't lie it is a valid reason to be confused but some people might just have a lot on their minds even if it's a big part of his character's story. Sorry if i came off too harsh i just found it wierd how some fans were treating neil especially in the comments of not only this video but the other episode streams he did. It's as if the fans forgot that he is doing this to have fun and enjoy himself, not to do a deep dive on the story as if he hasn't done interviews on that before. obviously i'm not saying that we should all ignore astarion's issues, and pretend as though it's not a big part of his story but instead just let the creator play the damn game, he may have played astarion but he is his own person seperate from the characters he plays and people clearly need to remeber that. One moment of confusion shouldn't ruin the game for everyone. But i do understand why it shocked people how he didn't remeber, it did kinda confuse me too but to be honest, i think it was just an honest mistake and also like i said before we should take into account how he hasn't played the game before and didn't get the specific confession line where astarion says it feels tainted and how they can wait for as long as he needs.

But I also wish you be more wary if the person you're replying to is even that rather than quickly assuming things. Even I get accused of some harsh labels, especially by the toxic part of the fandom.

i get your thought but it's kinda annoying to see fans putting so much pressure on the VA. Like first off he didnt get the scene where astarion says it feels tainted, even if he recorded it himself, he recorded thousands of voiceline so its kinda hard to remeber every single one of them. The way some fans act towards the VA's especially astarion's VA is wierd and even from my standpoint seems overwhelming.

I was upset in the moment, but I do understand it was thousands and thousands of lines, over the course of 4 years and he's 100% doing other things in time since recording Astarion. Plus, you know, just life in general, happening, all the time. I had no intention of putting any sort of pressure on Neil. I was just flabbergast in the moment. It felt like a slap in the face, but I'm not expecting anything from Neil himself. It makes sense that he doesn't remember every single line, or every single part of a character. I just thought, at the time, he'd have remembered *that* part, but it's not as if it I now hate him, or the character or anything of the sort.
Stop dividing people into LGBT and non-LGBT, as well as by political views, the world will be a better place that way and you will get more followers because who divides, lose. Bye! 👋
