    I was 17 when this came out. It is difficult to explain, but the world changed. This was released just after his death, so there was also this idea going around that Tupac faked his death. Listen to the album, then read The Prince by Makaveli, that book is about deceiving your enemy. We had no social media so we only went on what people were talking about through word of mouth. I was ready to ride for Tupac AKA Makaveli the Don. This album to me makes him the GOAT. Me Against the World is perfection, but The 7 Day Theory is prophecy. And yes, I still remember every single word and song verbatim, ain't nobody allowed to miss a word!

      @Simagosk 5 місяців тому +2

      @flaquis2729 yeah that's the sample and yes, it was Teddy Riley that asked to use it, but there was even another version of Toss It Up where they straight up used the no diggity instrumental for a Dre disstrack, Blackstreet issued a label with a cease and desist for that version so they made the updated version we hear in the album, Toss It Up

That isn't paying homage anymore, its an inability to be original as a writer. A ton of rappers are inspired by older artists but they at least find interesting ways to incorporate it into their music, and it doesn’t involve reciting entire verses/hooks.
