Wow! You're content is EXACTLY what I've been looking for!!! I can't get over how detailed and informative this all is! I've been doing research on various plants for WEEKS and have been looking for indepth explanations and other more detailed information. You're video is SUCH a great source for all the information anyone could need! Thank you for putting in so much time, energy and effort into this!
I'm only halfway through the video, and I'm very impressed with how detailed your explanations are. You are definitely a veteran Pothos grower. I'm taking notes. Thanks for the useful video =)
I am new too and kept hearing it'll grow no matter what. So glad I found this channel so I can be more mindful to watch for leaf burn and over watering.
I just discovered your channel and am so happy I did! Started having issues with my pothos and after watching your video I definitely think I've been over watering!
Thank you for very informative and straight-to-the-business video! Pure concentration of useful information and no redundancy. I love growing pothos and am quite informed, but learned a lot from you. Thank you so much. All the best!
This was super informative! Thank you so much. I just repotted my pothos into a larger pot because I felt like she didn't have enough space and now I'm worried it's too much space.
That’s my method, I go 2-3wks and when the leaves look like they’re getting sad and I lift it and it’s lighter i water it. Love this video, I need help pruning the insane vines though. My plant is huge!!!
I’m a little late now but I just want to say thank you! You provided so much information for almost any possible scenario. My marble pothos has been very green and bald on the top, and I was looking for a solution to this problem. Thank you for explaining everything in detail! I think I know how to fix these problems now 🙏🙏
I realize the top of my pothos wasn’t getting the light because I had it too high. I just moved it, so looking forward to seeing how it does now. Thanks for the tips.
I have had pothos fir 5 years now without knowing how to take care of it. All I did was make sure it is in the appropriate light and watered appropriately. And recently I trimmed it cause it was getting very crowded. Without realising the cuts can become a new plant I threw them away yiiikes 😱😭. I should have checked UA-cam before taking any action. Your pothos plant is so beautiful and healthy. Now I know better I will look after my pothos properly.
Wow this is a super informative video! I'm just starting to get into the plant hobby, and pothos is the plant I want the most right now. Thanks for the great info!
Wow! Outstanding!! You get right to it and waste no time. So much valuable information! I watch a lot of videos and this is by far the best! Thank you!!!
thank you for your video. I love pothos, great plants- I have a plant from 1998 and it is still going strong- I do cut the plant back to keep it from getting to big- also grow pothos in my aquarium to help control algea.
Love your very informative videos. I am still looking for an answer of why my new leaves on mt pothos are coming out deformed and with brown edges. No pest at all. Maybe im overwatering even though I usually wait until 3 on moisture meter.
just an old plant guy chiming in, with plants like pothos, spaths, calatheas, etc. making your own soil mix and keeping it moist is really the best way to go. you can grow pothos in water, its when the soil gets more muddy you get root rot, its not excess water rotting your roots, its inappropriate soil, like standard potting mix the roots want a looser mix. by adding plenty of orchid bark, coco fiber, tree fern, etc. to potting mix you really help your roots and you can use larger pots, and you can keep the soil consistently moist. you don't want to hang larger pots, but a . the leaves will get bigger the larger the pot, and as they trail up the leaves can get huge. your little e. pinnatum can get lobed monstera sized leaves if given enough space to do so. while its a great little hanging plant its also a very dramatic large totem plant. you don't want to take a cutting and put it in a 12" pot, but going up a pot size every year or two when you repot, and letting them trail up a totem you can get really big lush leaves. I just measure by feel so I can't give you any "recipes" but with a little googling a lot of people have them. A common one is "ABG mix" used by Atlanta Botanical Garden to grow pitcher plants, but popular with terrarium aficionados, etc.
Thanks so much for these info! 💚 I agree that mixing own soil is best, some beginners find that intimidating, tho I also encourage it coz I feel it's also more cost effective in the long run, especially if we have lots of plants. I am trying to experiment with pots with the same diameter but are deeper taller pots to give roots more room to grow downwards and yeah, I've noticed that my monstera has been growing larger leaves and I want to see if I can do the same for my golden pothos with the same type of pot and also letting it climb up a pole. ☺️💚
@@MyWastelessLife I keep meaning to add to this and forgetting, old age is like that, lol. I think as long as their aerial roots can take to a totem the leaves get larger as they go up, it seems to be the standard for most tropical vining plants. You can wrap a vine around your house but if it can't attach itself the leaves stay uniform. In my less than humble opinion spaths look really good in the low, wide pots, the varietals that with narrower leaves and send out a lot of offsets and clump. Its a very simple almost like a decorative grass effect with 100+ leaves on a plant. The uniformity of a lot of leaves is a very nice calming aesthetic, much like a full pothos. My spath pots get all the compliments even if they are just spaths. if a plant only has a few leaves it looks like a Charlie Brown Christmas tree that i paid too much for to most people. .
Silver/Golden/Marble Queen Pothos and Philodendron Brazil are definitely my favorite plants!!! I love the long cascading vines when you have them hanging in macrame or baskets. So nice when you have no floor space for a shelf or cabinet. Video request: I would like to see how you go about watering your hanging plants. I bottom water, but not sure how much water to add. Right now, I only water every 15 days when dry. I need all the help I can get in this area. Thanks for sharing your creativity and knowledge. 😘
Same! They're great for small spaces. 🤗 That's a great idea, I'll include it in one of my future videos. But tbh, I do bring most of them down since I bottom water too, but two of them is in self watering planters so they can also be bottom watered and I don't have to bring them down. One is the Wally eco planter that I mentioned in this video, which is pricey and requires a lot of plants to look full, but my Cebu blue Pothos is in a 6" self watering planter that I got from the dollar store, so that's a cheaper alternative to the Wally eco and smaller, but it does need to be filled up at least twice to have enough water to reach the top. Other plants I have hanging are ones that don't require watering too often, like the string of pearls and string of hearts (when it was still alive lol).
Omg thank you so much for this video! You explained and show everything which is what I need to learn 😂 sometimes ppl just explain it but I still have to see it so I know. I have 3 Pothos now and I just started taking care of plants a month ago! ❤️ thanks for your thorough video!
Super stoked to watch this but the inspirational new year message about 2020 gave me flashbacks 😂 I just got my Pothos and am so excited to dig into this. As someone who makes and edits videos, seeing it be 18 minutes long makes me already give it a like. 🙂
Great information, thanks! I just got my first Golden Pothos yesterday and I’m fairly new to plants, so this was awesome. No direct sunlight in my apt, just two north facing windows, so I’m glad to know golden pothos should be ok!
how has it dun in the last few months ? I'm pretty new myself and just picked up one today .. doesn't have much varigation so I'm wondering if it will come after a few months being in or beer a window
I am pretty sure misting can encourage arial roots depending on how often you mist them also the leaves can also absorb water they turn darker from the bottom side of the leaf it’s temporary though.Great Video though! It helped a lot!
Pothos are so resilient I used to have my pothos in my frogs tank the soil is almost always moist even with drainage and it still grew at a slower rate smaller leaves but no root rot now it’s in a standard nursery pot and put it in a bright room
Suzanne here, an older lady that grows a lot of pothos, water every other week, for me, i also grow many of mine in water, they are easy to grow in water, and will live a life time in water, but not so in soil, and also every plant is different, i have some pothos that died no matter what i do, it begins with a healthy root to begin with, and sometimes we get a pot full of unrooted leaves, watch out for that when you buy one, that they have runners and not just leaves, and they do NOT like tap water, always use water thats been sitting out a few days, i keep bottles in my kitchen full just for my massive amount of them, i am a fool for the neons
Wow it really one of the most recommended tips and tricks vid on photos I found out that may photos are being overwatered so I repot it as soon as possible thank you Soo much
Thanks! Yes I'll keep that suggestion in mind. but for the meantime, my latest video is on yellowing leaves in houseplants and I did show some of my pothos that aren't doing well, if you want to also check it out 😊💚

Hello, I just become a plant mom with a beautiful pothos! I have no idea how to get started though as I bought it on a whim from Lowe's because I fell in love with it. It comes in a plastic green pot with no way to drain, so my question is should I repot it? Or just keep it in the plastic within a pot?
I just got pothos, the typical golden pothos and the amazing neon pothos. My concern is with my neon, roots are coming out beside the leaf. Should I remove them? Or leave them be, cause I want them to look neat and no roots beside the hanging leaves 😅 ( the nodes )
Those are aerial roots. You can trim them if they get too long if you'd like, but when vines are long, the aerial roots help them get nutrients / oxygen instead of just relying on the main roots in the soil.
Hi! Ty for the video it was super helpful! I just bought a marble queen pothos 4 days ago, I’ve started to notice brown leaf tips and the sides of the leaves browning/turning crispy brown. I was wondering if it was because I was placing it too close to the window so they were scorching? I think it might need a watering soon too, the soil feels dry but the leaves still look perky so I was hesitant to water. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!
I find that the marble queen is very prone to root rot so don't water until you are super sure soil is dry, maybe wait for leaves to droop a bit. Since it's still Summer do pull it back away from the window and rotate it often. Hope that helps!
I've just ordered a Manjula pothos and a Scindapsus Pictus Argyraeous! Super excited, but also kinda nervous as this is my first time ordering plants online! 🤞🤞😊
Hello I'm new to your Channel you can also take popsicle sticks stick them down in all of your plants and that way you will know when it's time to water your plants because the popsicle stick will come up wet or it would be dry also get you a measuring cup Walmart has the little plastic measure cup
Using planter rings and the Wally eco planter. ! I’d have to drill into the wall tho to hang them up. The smaller plants clustered together are hanging on a wire grid, which is then hooked on a mail hanger on the wall. Have a video on it in my IG!

Depends on the size of the plant, can take from 5 mins to a few hours. But normally I just leave them on the tray, and when I notice the top soil is moist, I take it out. As long as your plant is not sitting in water for more than 24 hours it will be fine

If there’s no drainage then definitely repot!
I just got pothos, the typical golden pothos and the amazing neon pothos. My concern is with my neon, roots are coming out beside the leaf. Should I remove them? Or leave them be, cause I want them to look neat and no roots beside the hanging leaves 😅 ( the nodes )

Such a helpful video, thank you so much! Love pothos and how little care and attention they need to grow huge! Do you have any tips on indian borage?

Hey! Do you suggest pothos should be in terracotta instead of plastic?
Hello I'm new to your Channel you can also take popsicle sticks stick them down in all of your plants and that way you will know when it's time to water your plants because the popsicle stick will come up wet or it would be dry also get you a measuring cup Walmart has the little plastic measure cup
Good tips. Thanks for sharing. New friend here. Stay connected 👍🔔😉
Thank you!
how do you hang the pots on the wall like that???
Using planter rings and the Wally eco planter. ! I’d have to drill into the wall tho to hang them up.
The smaller plants clustered together are hanging on a wire grid, which is then hooked on a mail hanger on the wall. Have a video on it in my IG!
