I used to just ignore pothos because they are so common... now I’m in love with them. They do look good as houseplants. Not to mention easy to take care of.
Agreed! I hate following any trend. I love all of my plants, but I have to admit all of my pothos have an extra special place in my heart. I’m currently growing one of them on a moss pole because I want the leaves to become giant. I can’t wait to see the result in a year or 2!
Pothos in their natural habitats do climb. The higher they climbs the more thicker their vine get with bigger leaves. I got a golden pothos with 8-10 inch long size leaves at the top. There are pictures online that show some with leaves that are over 20 inch long. All Pothos and Philodendron are capable of getting bigger stems, vines and leaves except for dwarf varieties. We are so used to seeing them small because most people are probably growing them as an indoor plants without a tall totem or tree. Nice Video
Ah yes! I saw some really huge ones in Miami at Fairchild botanical gardens that were practically wrapping around trees, and they can get invasive in the wild. but yeah as houseplants they need our help to do the same, since they don't grow as big. Thanks for sharing! ☺️
You can see one at ua-cam.com/video/Z3_z47rlW0E/v-deo.htmlm48s Look at the tree on your left. Golden pothos has climbed over it Note the leaves get bigger at the top. I have seen a leaf close to 2ft long. The video is of no importance.
Yes Google pothos invasive in florida and you can see just how big they get. I didn't even realize what they were until I started getting into plants. Now I'm gonna go snip some at my MIL house since she hates them in her trees anyways 🤣
This whole time I thought I had a Marble Queen. It never daid the name, just "indoor house plant". It is very white. I now know it's a Snow Queen. Very beautiful. I'm so lucky! Thank you this video is so helpful. I also didn't know golden pothos could "golden" even if it starts out dark green like mine did. I thought I was overwatering it though the leaves seemed healthy...
I bought a marble queen pothos last year and within that year I fell in love with them and now I’m addicted to my pothos and vining plants I now have a jade, golden and marble pothos now :)
Love seeing how you show the variety of leaves on each one, and you have such gorgeous and well developed, happy plants! Your channel is wonderful, thankyou for sharing your knowledge!
I usually don't watch any ads but this video was so well made and put together. I watched a 15 second state farm video lol. Thanks for sharing this info!
Pothos were my first successful plant that got me into plants, I’ve got many pothos and they’ve been my introductory to propagation. They’re so nice and easy
Love your video, now I want them all.... it's so addictive collecting this plants as they are very easy to look after and so beautiful at the same time.
Hello just watched your channel on repot the monstera, I know you know this, placating holds morsture, also hold bck. On the water they hold it already in their trunks. The terra-cotta is good idea;) Wish you best😔💕
Thank you for this video, i've learned a lot. I never thought that there are 22 varietes of pothos, we only have 3kinds photos out of 22. Love from Philippines.
Hi Mabelle! I was surprised too with how many varieties there are, all I knew at first was the golden pothos. Philippines have great varieties of epipremnum pinnatum I didn't get to cover in this video, only the Cebu Blue!
Very informative video, thank you. I have the Brasil, lemon lime and heart leaf Philos as well as the Scindapsus Pictus. I also have a Golden Pothos and the Marble Queen. Currently looking to get the Rio Silver Stripe and Scindapsus Exotica. I love trailing plants.
New subscriber here fr Concepcion Tarlac. Thanks for the video. I never thought there are 22 varieties of Pothos. i only have 4 of them. Looking forward to have some more Pothos💖💖💖
This has answered SO many questions!! I will be keeping this for reference and posting this several places when people mislabel, misinform, etc. THANK YOU!!!!
Thanks for such an in depth video. I've been trying to find out how many Pothos variteis there are. I only have 10 varieties, so I'm about to embark on quite a mission!
Dang... very informative. This is a down-the-rabbit-hole video. I currently just have the regular Epipremnum Pinnatum and the Golden Photos. I am now looking for a Cebu Blue. Mabuhay!
Ur knowledge is too good about these plants...specially those hybrids I have never heard about...I do have golden, jade, njoy, neon, marble queen cutting...scindapsus pictus like urs n green, neon n brazil philadendron...I am in love with pothos n philadendron heart leafs
Can you make a video how to care for them? Solutions for plants that are turning brown? I love hearing about different plants but want to learn how to care for them. Thanks
Thank you so much for this amazing video. I had no idea that there are so many types of pothos, and it was just amazing how easily you explained to us the main things we should focus to recognise the plant. You did an incredible research, thank you !
I had a golden pothos in the past that had the chance of growing next to a wall. The roots will hold-on to the wall's mortar and it will start climbing. Once the roots take hold, the branch will grow thicker, have big leaves with fenestrations and will grow faster. I never had the chance to see it flower, but I think this opportunity to climb up something will increase it chances to flower. A moss pole is just as good, but it was never tall enough...
Oh wow, that my goal! I had a few comment that epipremnums don't flower and if they do it's likely rare, but still trying to verify that info. I have my golden currently in a moss pole and it has already outgrowing it before I can get larger leaves 😭
Thank you so much for making this video! I’ve been stressing about the leaves yellowing on what I thought was a pothos but it’s actually a philodendron!!
Wow! just amazing. The full time I was stuck with the video. It was so informative still not boring!! You do a great job. I think now I can identify little bit more.❤
Logged in just to tell you that I learnt a lot from your video. I think my marble queen looks more like a snow queen - whiter.. N'joy in Australia is always called and sold as ''Snow queen''. Manjula is almost impossible to get in Australia. I've had one for about a year and I always wondered why it looked different from ones I see on youtube (darker green, but still has curvy leave)s. I have a harlequin for sure! Cebu blue cost hundreds here. Just a wish. However, I have one just like it only green. I guess it's an epipremnum pinnatum, but it doesn't look like the ones I see online. Isn't there another kind of pothos (epipremnum) that's green and crinkly? I also learnt that I have three kinds of scindapsus pictus. I couldn't figure out what my silver satin was. Basically, all my favourite plants are in your video.
After owning my neon pothos for a couple of months, I discovered recently that its has developing some variegation very quickly. At first I was scared it was yellowing aka dying off.
Great video! So thorough! I never paid much attention to pothos, it was so common but now I want every variety! LOL I have several but I really want a harlequin, I love that dark green and white combo. I have several plants where I took the vine, pinned the node down to a pot next to it and eventually they took root and grew. I like this way of propagating because there is little stress to the plant, only cut it when you set the new plant free. Check out the global green pothos, very pretty! Again, great video! New subscriber!
The information you provided was incredibly helpful! Thanks to your excellent video, I was able to ID a Pearls and Jade that I found on a bargain/half-dead table. It's SO GREAT to find someone on UA-cam who really knows what they're talking about! LOL XO
Awesomely informative video on pothos and pothos "like" plant types! Thank you so much for taking the time to share your knowledge!! I learned SOOO MUCH!
Unsure whether I'm happy or upset that I found this channel..... On one hand its hit my pockets, but on the other hand I've discovered and bought the Scindapsus Happy Leaf! Thanks for the introduction!
Thank you very much for your information, I will be coming back to this video as I obtain more of these beautiful plant varietals! I have one currently and am trying to figure out if it is a Jassenia or Golden Pothos. I am fairly new to house plants (a few years now), but have discovered a great love for it and quite a green thumb actually, so I want to keep it up by extending my knowledge! Thanks for the great video!
This is a very good video and I love pothos and read a lot about them. The only thing I would argue is that a true Jade pothos will not get more yellow and become a golden pothos. But a golden will have less color if it is growing in a lower light situation. All of them can "revert" back to solid green. I had a solid green vine from a Manjula. It had the leaves exactly like a Manjula with the more heart shape and the curliness (if that is even a word) of the Manjula but it reverted to solid green. Sadly when I moved that plant died. Also I have a pretty rare (I am finding) solid green Scindapsus Exotica. The leaves are exactly the same, large and leathery and curl when they need water and it is a solid dark green color. Again nice video and very good information!
Thanks so much for sharing!! Learned from you as well 🤗. I currently have a solid green manjula that I am propagating, and I would love to see a reverted Exotica💚 they sound like they look cool based on your description. ☺️
I used to just ignore pothos because they are so common... now I’m in love with them. They do look good as houseplants. Not to mention easy to take care of.
Same here! 💚
Yup same here! 😊
Agreed! I hate following any trend. I love all of my plants, but I have to admit all of my pothos have an extra special place in my heart. I’m currently growing one of them on a moss pole because I want the leaves to become giant. I can’t wait to see the result in a year or 2!
I love how they trail and if you elevate them and theyre long you can make a jungle in a house pretty easily

Yea my neighbor has then growing on one of their trees, it has leafs a foot long
Good
You can see one at ua-cam.com/video/Z3_z47rlW0E/v-deo.htmlm48s
Look at the tree on your left. Golden pothos has climbed over it

I could not believe my eyes watching such a huge variety. Super collection
Thanks!
Still one of my favorite Pothos videos!!! You did a FANTASTIC job on this video. Be back next year to watch again,
I usually don't watch any ads but this video was so well made and put together. I watched a 15 second state farm video lol.
Thanks for sharing this info!
Aw thank you, I appreciate that so much! ❤️
Wow! I'm from Cebu, and the Cebu Blue Pothos looks an exciting plant to get.
I have no words to express how incredible this video is! Congratulations! Amazing explanation!
Thanks Thiago!💚
Great video! You’ve just helped me identify I plant I grew from a cutting from my mom’s 30+ year old pathos.
Pothos is one of my favorite indoor plants.
Pothos were my first successful plant that got me into plants, I’ve got many pothos and they’ve been my introductory to propagation. They’re so nice and easy
Love your video, now I want them all.... it's so addictive collecting this plants as they are very easy to look after and so beautiful at the same time.
Haha yes, it's hard to resist getting them all!
Hello just watched your channel on repot the monstera, I know you know this, placating holds morsture, also hold bck. On the water they hold it already in their trunks. The terra-cotta is good idea;) Wish you best😔💕
Thank you so much kaibigan! You are very knowleable and I found your video thoroughly enjoyable.
Thank you for watching!
this is the best video explaining the differences!! I been having so many confusing moments with pothos but this helped so much!!!
Thank you, glad it helped! 💚
This was so helpful. Thank you! Also, you are gorgeous!
OMG! I HAVE to get my hands on a Harlequin! It's stunning!

Thanks Camille! Be sure to watch the second part tho (rare and uncommon pothos) coz I did issue some corrections in that video
Thanks for such an in depth video. I've been trying to find out how many Pothos variteis there are. I only have 10 varieties, so I'm about to embark on quite a mission!

Great video!!!!
Yes .. the best video about pothos. Thanks and you’re the best presenter of varieties of pothos.
Thank you! 💚
Can you make a video how to care for them? Solutions for plants that are turning brown? I love hearing about different plants but want to learn how to care for them. Thanks
N'joy pothos is my favourite variety as you said that it's a white variegated. I keep it in little darker place it's looking so beautiful.
njoy pothos has white variegation and i do find that (and pearls & jade and glacier pothos) do maintain their variegation well even in low light
Excellent presentation. Very informative. I have had my plant for more than 30 years and now I can identify it as a golden pothos.
Thank you for making this video! It was very informative and help me see which Pothos I liked better! You’re awesome!

Thank you so much! Also appreciate your shot out in your IG stories! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Awesome comparison.
I wanted to see the philodendron (Black Cardinal, Pink Princess, Orange Prince etc. )
Cheers for the info.
Philodendrons aren't my favorite, so except for those considered as pothos, I don't seek them out. BUT I'll see what I can do!
I love philodendrons and pothos. I have exotica. i'd like to have scindapsus pictus as lovely as yours
