Any idea on why overnight in extremely cold weather mine wouldn’t turn on. Now strong smell of gas inside when attempting to turn on and oil even smells like gas?
For what it's worth, my OEM timing belt on my '06 made it to 147,000. It wasn't snapped when I replaced it. I put on a gates blue racing belt. Belt was in rough shape, teeth pulled off with my fingers. All of the teeth were seperated on the ends, but holding in the middle of each tooth. It was a miracle it lasted as long as it did, and I would bet it would not have lasted another 1000 miles. I am not to blame for letting it slide that long, I got the car at 120,000.
I wish u would have shown in more detail how to check these things instead of pointing. My 2007 pt with 86,000 miles isn't starting. Just replaced my timing belt, radiator and crankshaft sensor. Spent 5k. Im sick of getting ripped of and was going to try to figure out whats wrong all by myself.
If belt is slipping, it is not moving camshaft, so no valves are moving up and down letting gas and air into cylinders, therefore no combustion, engine will not start , if it does it will sound and feel like it is wanting to die lol
On my pt cruiser I think I have a timing belt problem. I have to start the car every morning. Sometimes I forget to start it and the car takes a few more seconds to start. My dad replaced the old battery with a new one but I still have to start the car every morning.
The one I’m working on crank no start. It had gas and spark what you think it could be? I spray starting fluid but still won’t start. Compression test show No1 cylinder 60 psi and no4 at 90 psi. Timing belt is moving but I have not checked with a timing light
I have an 04 pt it was running perfectly fine when i parked it at night. The next morning i ended upvin hospital it was -40 celcius and i had the keys on me in hosp. 2 days later tried starting but was completely frozen. Got boosts still nothing. Towed to garage they thawed it and now all it does is turn over but wont fire. THEY TRIED A new battery but still wouldnt fire.what could be wrong
Yo Jabo, my friends cruiser had the same no start problem. It was the fuel pump in this case. A bust to get that replace but the kicker is my friends son destroyed the engine a month later. So much for that repair. Good stuff bro 👍👍
my 2007 is at 135,000 and I went through getting the fuel pump around 113,000 miles now i turn with the lights on but no start 😭she was strong but i think i may be time
Schrader valve should be on the driver's side of fuel rail. That is where you can check pressure and hook up a fuel pressure gauge to get about 55 if pressure.
Okay I have a 2009 PT Cruiser I did everything that you said and everything is good there getting gas the timing is good but it still won't start it turns over but won't start is there anything else it could be
Crank position sensor, cam position sensor, vacuum leak - possibly from the intake manifold gaskets, Faulty injectors, faulty spark plugs/wires/coil. A lot of things.
Nothing more aggravating than a video producer asking for thumbs up at the beginning of a video what if it sucks? I think I think LOL glad we have an expert
The fuel rail has a schrader valve.... No need to disconnect fuel line.... Also weak spark is orange blue spark is solid... You have it backwards..
Your are correct blue is excellent spark yellow or orange is weak there are test light to connect w spark plug wire to visually determine this .

I put on the gates blue racing belt and new cam gears they bend too and the Darrel cox racing timing kit
What about the Auto Shut Down Relay and the ignition Switch --Switch--not key cylinder...

transmission control module.
I'll give you 300.00 for the car
@@jimmarshall4636 These will start fine with a bad transmission control module. A powertrain control module on the other hand...
I have a 2007 rn and its not starting, 3 ppl hs told me 3 diferent things...fuel pump, crank sensor, and a small crack in the oil pan
@@moriahcary9628I have a 2006 pt cruiser with 70k miles and it dropped gears and now won't do anything
really good, but what if it is like the one you showed, what is the deal with the timing belt teeth ?

The best mechanic in North County 🧰🔧🔩⚙️🚗🚗
Why my PT CRUISER not starting
My 2005 pt cruiser was running but it was stuttering terrible and then it just died and now I can't get any thing the switch turns but I get nothing
When you take disconnect the fuel line should fuel be spraying out of the metal side while the cars turned off

Good stuff bro 👍👍
Thanks bro
Replaced starter on 2001. My god it's tough to get to the bottom bolt.
Geese really! There are several things besides a timing belt that can cause crank over and no start.
I like this dude he's good

Thank you
Mine crank but won't turn over then it dies. That could be the alternators right?
Just replaced my timing belt before it broke. 143k.
I have a 2006 PT Cruiser that is doing the same thing as that one is. We changed the fuel pump and the ignition switch, and it still won't turn over.
How many miles was yours? I have a 2007 and I was told it was many things, fuel pump included, and Im unsure on who's opinion to go with
@@moriahcary9628 I'm a mechanic does your fuel pump make a sound when you turn the key forward
@@Dr.pikachuui got got fuel pump replaced
Mine is at 160000 and just stopped starting
Changed the timing belt because of a blown head gasket at 36000 miles currently at 176000 and it maybe time to change again (140000)
My pt cruiser threw a rod and locked up

Right off the bat it’s the fuel pump 🤦🏽♂️ coil sensor or any other sensor don’t make sense

Un buen sepillado

2008 pt cruisers 148177 min

It didn't help me out.
