@@Malouco I don't think a genius would burn so many bridges. If he was easier to work with, and less abrasive, I think he would have done much better in the industry. A smart person would have done things differently.

Its a shame I just found out about Law Breakers I would have been all on that game. I remember hearing about it 1 time at E3 and that was it. I didnt even think it came out.
The "gaming causes shootings" shtick is getting old. There has been plenty of studies with no conclusive evidence. Really cool to see a gamer make it big and do things his way though.
I pre-ordered my copy, years of reading videogame magazines and this is the first time I get to see a book like this, a full account of what such industry is like. Videogame people rarely get their biographies fully told. Can't wait, really enjoyed the couch cop of Gears of War 1 and 2. Sadly my Xbox 360 red ringed before 3. I am also halfway through Hideo Kojima's the Creative Gene, the other book by a videogame creator, though this more about 4 page reviews of all his creative influences than a full account of his time making videogames (though you get snippets). Very recommended too.
David Polfeld : the dream architect is also quite good for the views of an insider as well as Sid meier’s memoir. You can also check the books by journalist Jason schreier
I did end up reading the ones of Nintendo from Satoru Iwata [exPresident Global Nintendo] and the autobiography of Reggie [exPresident Nintendo of America] both overlap and somewhat shred enough in Shigeru Miyamoto. Though halfway Iwata became more of a President and Reggie was more of a marketing person to understand the west. That do said the West vs East is an interesting core. Might jump on one of the ones you are suggesting later on. Would love if there were Keinji Inafune [Megaman, Dead Rising, Resident Evil, Capcom], or Ubisoft mainly due to Michael Ansel [Rayman] or Patrice Desilets [Assassin's Creed]. Or of course the Houser Brothers [Rockstar games Grand Theft Auto, Red Dead, Bully, La Noire, etc], I have considered childhood self-righteous villain Jack Thompson but not sure if I could stomach him.

For a brief moment I thought the mainstream understood gaming and took it seriously then the interviewer asks the classic nonsense question “how do you feel about violent games making society violent”
"one of video games most successful designers" lmao The only game he created was a rabbit game in the 90s. Gears was a collaborative effort where Epic gave him the lead. He just told people it had to have chainsaw guns and be manly. The greatest success of Epic Games has always been their engine. Cliff had nothing to do with that.

The Forest Gump of Gaming.
Please Cliffy B makes Gears great again. 😊
Gears 1 classic is so good it didn't need a remaster
It didn’t need it but it was most welcome, especially since Xbox finally got the PC content that made the story feel more complete.
Yes it did lol,the remaster is so good dude
microsoft needs to try to bring him back into the fold to direct gears, and also create new ip
He did make a new IP; Lawbreakers. See how well that went.
