I used to dislike crocs because I didn't like how they look, but now I can say as someone with severe nerve damage in my feet, crocs are the ONLY shoe I can wear comfortably without having throbbing pain after just half an hour. I can wear them all day and only start hurting towards the end of the day. Not only do I love them now, I prefer them
It seems weird that the very thing people are mad at is what made Amy part of Croc Nation. You would think that, though it's nice for it to fit properly, the cons would have still existed. Did the arch support finally appear? Are all the cons removed. How long does it take for crocs to conform to your feet and get broken in over time? Do you need to shrink them? Does shrinking them always work? Do they shrink every time they get exposed to heat?
Exactly … like what if you went to the beach and got them wet and then they were out in the heat? What you were at a pool party? Suddenly everywhere with water plus heat becomes a weapon
Amy concludes by addressing that many of those fit concerns still exist and the lawsuits still present totally valid concerns; in essence, answering your questions with a sort of "further research is required to determine..." that one might find in every research paper ever. Just because she presents a positive marketing future for crocs does not negate all the research done in this video. Additionally, answering all those follow-up questions would necessitate further scientific research that would definitely require a pt. 2, as they could not properly address all that within a 15-20 min video. I think we're hearing that she is remaining positive despite all the outrage and deciding to focus on our feelings about that instead of focusing on what she actually does and addresses, as well as the bounds and limitations of one video's worth of research in this format.
fun fact: at my elementary school, we had a football championship, and this kid in my class made it to the finals. he had forgotten to bring his running shoes so he had crocs while playing. AND HE WON AND MADE THE WINNING TOUCHDOWN!
I'm a person who prefer to wear heavy, iron security tip, working boots as my daily life shoes instead of common shoes, i need a style theory of a working boots vs common shoes test to find which's the best in matters of style on outfits, comfort, wear and tear resistance (my sweat tends to destroy fabric easily), and practicality on various situations. And then finally see if working boots are better than normal shoes or not.
im a sandle guy, my feet are always abbused at work, in faqct in my office days it was so bad my feet swelled 2 sizes. Now a day i dont really have that problem as i can pick the shoe but their still ot confotable so on my days off i switch to my closed faced sandles, but they lack real support but have confort. Le sigh, never can find the perfect shoe
I've been wearing the same pair of Lucchese boots for 25 years. Don't worry about fabric -- fabric is for socks! Boots are leather on the inside. Heels wear down and are easily replaced.
The way to instantly break in Doc's, or any leather boot, is to put them on, get them soaking wet, and then wear them until they dry. Boom! Fits perfect. Kinda like the dryer strat for crocs. :)
this makes perfect sense!! I bought a new pair and hadn't broken them in yet and instant pain, but it rains hard the next day and its like a perfect shoe!!
Crocs also sell some more typical looking shoes but with that croc material and design. My wife bought me two pairs a few years ago, one pair shaped like typical shoes just with rubber sides and tiny holes in the sides to let your foot breathe, and another that are supposed to be like river shoes, designed to get wet, with flat-ish bottoms and mesh tops. Both have proven super durable to say the least and relatively comfortable otherwise.
I'm a dog groomer so crocs are a great waterproof shoe that I can use on almost any experience. Ash and I are also kindred spirits so I'm very excited for this episode. 😅 Also, if you aren't used to wearing crocs you should start with the fuzzy ones. Also crocs mold to you. And a subtle Kingdom Hearts reference!? I love this episode. Favorite style theory.
@@brovriscoolvriscool5277 Yeah you know most running shoes have holes in them right? That mesh fabric that makes them "breathable"? No, crocs do not absorb water like a regular shoe does.
One year I forgot my gym bag on the day we ran the mile for the “presidential fitness test” thing, so I ran it in crocs and khaki shorts. Still crushed it and finished first in my class. Crocs rule
Amy is soooo pretty with her curly hair!!! I'd also love to recommended a topic, I've recently used a hair removal cream on my legs and I'd love for there to be a style theory episode going into how it works and whether it's better than shaving or not!
Few things, 1) Should have mentioned how crocs became famous because of the movie idiocracy. 2) loving the energy. Amy always bringing her A game. And love the Amy/Ash chemistry. 3) Should have done a test on how dirty your feet get.
I grew up with clogs, real wooden clogs, and still love those to this day. Everyone in my family switched to crocs as the slipper of choice 10-15 years ago, but I've never tried a croc I felt comfortable in. I've tried many different ones, both the actual croc brand and knock offs, but I just can't find one that is comfortable and I always return to my clogs. Barefoot for indoors, clogs for my garden or short walks, trainers or hiking boots for anything else, depending on where I'm going and what the weather is like.
Peoppe used to think I was crazy when I told them that I couldn't wear my crocs anymore after they shrunk!! I used to wear them when I worked at a waterpark, and one day they just, shrunk! The heels were completely destroyed! I'm so glad to know that's a real, documented thing
What I hate about crocs is the material, not bc of it shrinking or anything, but bc it's too grippy, like, whenever I move my foot even just a little, my skin is pulled, or my socks get pulled and it has the same effect, and wearing them without socks gave me blisters. As an example, it's kinda like how if you've ever been on a slide, and you skin is getting dragged as you go down, but it's on your foot instead
Just a thought but, another possibility in the workout part might be Amy's form. Rotating your knees outwards slightly might help encounter the stability issue.

While me and mom go shopping for new backpack she said baggy ones would've been better since I bought the stiff one . So I ask why and she said idk I always thought they were better
As someone with flipper shaped feet, Crocs are the most comfortable thing I've ever put on my foot. They're definitely better for wide feet - I can rarely find normal shoes that fit me comfortably.

Another thing is they became very popular in the medical field until the hospitals realized that these are open toe shoes which are not allowed in hospitals, so at many hospitals they have been banned. There are closed toe crocs you can wear that are basically just rubber nurses clogs.

Black doesn't absorb heat, it absorbs light and heats up as a result. So black will make you hotter in summer, but help you keep (slightly) warmer in winter. (Not much sunlight to absorb in winter).
as someone with sensory issues who struggles to wear shoes at all, Crocs have been a lifesaver. my current pair saw me through my job at a seasonal place- i wore them in 30F weather with like six pairs of socks and was perfectly comfortable xD
When crocs started becoming popular again, I thought it was a fad that was just back because they look goofy and that it would die out quickly. I ended up buying a pair out of curiosity and fell in love with them instantly. I have so much trouble finding running/walking shoes that fit me without feeling too tight or sliding up the back of my foot, so I wear them almost every chance I get 🙃
I never even considered buying Crocs, but I watched your episode on 'em right before I happened to be at a store that sold some. Was being forced to wait for someone and decided to try a pair on... bought some then and there. Crazily comfortable.
