By US laws, still legal since it technically has been priced at $400
Europe has customer protection laws that consider that false advertising, and laws that prohibit raising the price to discount it "more", but in US I'm pretty sure it's legal, as long as it's not an outright lie. I've no idea how things are elsewhere in the world.
@@Robospy1that is 100% sure illegal where I live so I can't be careful enough because where I shop(not Chinese fast fashion stores) that does not happen.

Gotta say, as someone who’s in the midst of college and becoming an adult who makes their own decisions, I’ve been saving videos like this and others from team theorist to make life a little bit easier. Thank you MatPat and crew for helping me save my already dwindling money!
I was just about to comment something similar because i noticed many were not talking about it. I just spent $10 on something usually worth $50 and it’s Wednesday. I think a lot of the actual deals are out now, especially online. Black Friday shopping is something you do when you’re comfortable with the money you have and can afford to splurge to feel like you’re saving but the reality is you don’t save as much as you could if you just shopped strategically

Me too, though the intros don’t do well in the UA-cam algorithm. People’s attention spans are too low so they leave during it or they skip over the intro, both of which hurt the videos performance.

Seeing as Matpat seems to be a verbal processor, as in he needs to say what he's thinking out loud to really process his thoughts, I'd say your right. It's really a win/ win
I’m honestly surprised that they didn’t do the theory about how apparently the products you get Black Friday is actually different from what you would get on any other day. Like apparently, company’s use a whole different and cheaper product that costs them even less than what they normally do to help increase profit margins even more further on Black Friday. Especially televisions, not sure if it’s just a conspiracy or there’s some truth in something of it?? Would definitely like a video about it see if it’s only a theory.

@@Moonshine449 oh most definitely, but definitely sounds like something a greedy corporation would do.
The problem is that most of those kind of things, even the raised prices, are generally rumors and hearsay at best when you analyze the reality of marketing and how companies are smart enough to know that's a dangerous plan. It's probable that some have pulled such a stunt, but the probability that its common is actually pretty low.
My dad was friends with a family before cell phones became widely used. They bought professional walkie-talkies, planned weeks ahead, and split up into pairs to more efficiently shop during Black Friday

well idk if thats true. i could see matt give them something as an individual but this is specifically about the company getting it for them which ill be honest is better they know and like it than what some works do and get them something they gunna hate or just throw away

I kinda do the best of both worlds when it comes to surprises, you can learn what it is if you want to, but you aren't forced to know all the information.
I’ve learned as i grow older i don’t really like surprise gifts anymore. There are gifts i ended up rarely or never use at all which feels like a huge waste for me. I still highly appreciate any gift i received but now every birthday/special occasion i have i usually notify my family & close friends of the stuff i do want if they _are_ planning to buy something for me (at a sensible price ofc)

Our family battle plan on black fridays is always to have gift list ready... a month earlier. We have taken a note that a lot of companies rise the prices to lower them back to normal as 'discount' meaning that you got scammed. If you have kept an eye on some products and varietions, you are less likelly jump on discount wagon.
