Ken was right. Gambino actually took "the boy" on the bus at the end of the camp album and used him as the main character who's known as "The Boy" in the Because The Internet story.
I don't know about that. It sounds awesome, but at the end of 'That Power' he said that he was still stuck on the bus. So that means that he's the Boy. Now as the writer that he is, I don't think that he would like to cross the two stories. But it still is a good theory
When he said he was "still on the bus" he was talking mentally. In the 'Because The Internet' script, the beginning starts off with The Boy's dad picking him up from the church parking lot where the bus dropped of the kids from camp
Oh ok thanks man, it makes sense now
and rick ross is his dad lol
@@invertexto. It's funny cause a the writer he is, he is always crossing stories. Most do.
I was NOT expecting Myke to like this.
Ebrima Jassey He said he did when they reviewed BTI
I'm sorry Max, but why did you just say that? lol
Damn, Myke used to look like an Egyptian pharaoh.
I think of Camp as the black version of The Heist, except I like Camp a lot more than The Heist
Im just like Beezy on liking a 13 track album, nothing too long. Stick to the point and get it across
Mike is gettin all dreamy lol
yea , like @5:36 lol
still on this album in 2016
same
Because The Internet

Love coming back to this review.
I think the reason why Childish Gambino is my favorite rapper right is that he makes music that I can relate to. I mean shit, I remember listening to Camp for the first time and I swear I thought that he was just talking about my life. Lol exaggerating a bit, but definitely a great album can't wait until his next one. I don't know how he will do it, but I hope it tops Camp.
@EverydayAlex I misunderstood the Oreo label. My mistake.
Another spot on review. I've been listening to CG since the first day of "Community" and he is definitely top 10. You can hear the writer in him throughout his music, each track scripted meticulously, every instrument hits at the right mark, every word spat to perfection. 10/10 imo.
Was wondering why they were bringing Drake up, then I realized that this was from back when Drake hadn't yet become the biggest sellout of this generation at least if not in the history of hip hop
Thank you guys cause I was debating if I should get it or not
why haven't you guys talked about Action Bronson? I would love t hear your opinions on him as well as the new Pac Div Album.
Great album. I didn't like many of the tracks other than 'Outside', 'All the shine' and 'Bonfire' at first. But when you listen through the whole album a few times you can see the thread holding the whole project together. Gambino just puts his whole self on show in an unapologetic. Sometimes he's introspective, hyper, lecherous, angry, in love. It's about human experience. And damn those violins were to dope. Great review, dudes!!
Pleasantly surprised you like it. I loved it, bumped into this album by mistake, never heard about this dude despite his acting and whatnot, until I saw a song on youtube, by mistake. Great album
Wow I was skeptical about this album cause needle drop said it was was sub par but seeing as you guys are so high on it I gotta check this out!
Yo @mykectown, just curious to know, if childish gambino is in your current top 10, then who is the other 9 top current favorite mcs of yours? your answer would be much appreciated.
You guys do really informative and insightful reviews. Subscribing!
dope review def agree with everybody point real talk
glad to see more reviews are comin out faster
I like your reviews because you guys dont exactly dive incredibly deep into the whole picture of the music. Is it hot? how about the beats and production? hows the rap? I feel those are the questions you are answering and above that you have different perspectives.
@deadendhip wish you woulda had anthony from theneedledrop for this one,,would've loved to see anthony vs. C-town..did you see his review? keep the vids comin guys
Review Lupe's Friend of the People when it drops this Thursday. Its so important that I'm letting u know ahead of time.
@Waybs11 Yeah, that's why I shouted out Kanye in the last video and talk about Nas on a regular basis. But OK. That's your opinion and I respect it. Even though it's wrong in this case.
Definetly in my top 3 albums this year, it was unbelieveable
@HotbagelsProject im just curious but what albums did you enjoy this year?
you should discuss this with the needle drop, that would be interesting
what happened to the thing where they'd play songs from the album lowly in the background? now they play random scenic music
maybe review mac millers new album blue slide park? would be interested in what you guys think of it. great vid like always!
@chaosinorderrr Sorry for the typo. I meant to say I agree.
Donald and Ludwig co-produced the album together. Dc pierson, one of donald's friends from his Derrick comedy troupe, wrote the story at the end of "That Power."
@mykectown the guy who does the background music for Community has co-produced all of his music
I Still wanna know what your opinions are on Busta being signed to cash money?
@coolnesss16 I actually said during the convo that people compare him to Wayne and they all thought that was crazy. I hear it in his voice, but not his content, rhyme scheme or lyrics. But hey, it's cool that you at least gave it a shot.
I loved some of the songs on the album, but a good portion of them I wasnt feeling. I can totally see the potential with CG, and even though I didnt really like this album as whole I am going to have my eyes open for his next project.
Gambino for me is my favorite rapper right now. I have always enjoyed his stuff and i was even surprised by how good this album was, and for me its my favorite album of the year.
like to see you guys discuss British/international hip hop
Y'all need a video featuring Anthony from the needle drop about this album. He pretty much buried this album and said the exact opposite from y'all stated . Would be interesting to see Ctown debate with him...
Just wanted to say CG has been doing this since 2002/2003 , this is just his first as a signed artist.. but he had a bunch of mixtapes, EP/albums under his belt before getting signed this year..he's been building his techinque and style while staying honest to his spirit of music and emotive essence.
@crisgia Did you listen to the first song?
you could review that milo mixtape anthony was reviewing. i thought it was pretty gewd
@mykectown me too man, and great review, lovin the videos
I believe it was Ludwig Goransson, who is the composer for Community, that helped produce Camp!
Thank you guys for your independent thoughts
have you heard Bonfire and You see me?
Still can't believe Fantano gave this a 2/10 like what the fuck
Yeah, I totally switched my opinion on that review. Camp was whack, in hindsight
@@tb89117 probably like a 5/10 in hindsight
Loved this project.
@MrKoerdie He's not. That was my mistake.
i think that big bald one was basing his opinion off of the other guys opinions.
Have you never agreed with anyone? There's only so much that can be said about some things.
@EllisCarver Yeah. You're absolutely right. I said that in the vid.
I'm so glad you guys dug this album cuz I disagreed with needledrop's review with it being too whiny. I can't wait to see what's next!!!
I like some of Donald's tracks. But my biggest thing is the similarities in cadence w/ Lil Wayne and Kanye. It's nothing new cuz it's been pretty evident since his first project. Some of his punches are real corny and fail miserably, but then he'll turn around and say some real dope shit so it's kinda twisted. I haven't checked this project out completely, but i'll give it a listen this wknd... I have all his other albums and he definitely improves w/ each project.
I'm glad I'm not the only one who enjoyed this and didn't care so much for Take Care. Great review!
@deadendhiphop Hey, I respect you guys when it comes to reviewing albums. I think you need to keep your boy the needle drop in check.
Childish Gambino and Drake are nothing alike, even though they both dive deep into girl problems,Drake and Gambino sound too different in the way they address them to be compared.
I feel kinda bad for Myke and Modest Media when they talked about being excited about what he's going do next year. Look at Gambino now.
very surprised these guys like this project
@RhymesWithHatTrick We have a new one dropping Dec. 10th!
@Hiphop080 Andrew Jackson Jihad - Knife Man. Oneohtrix Point Never - Replica. Shabazz Places - Black Up. Bon Iver - Bon Iver. Atlas Sound - Parallax. Its nothing to do with not liking hip hop if thats what you were thinking
The way he closed this album is legendary. The last track made you want to see when his next one is gonna drop.
@KingARSENAL14 so if an emcee talks about conscious topics but his rhymes are wack and can't come up w/ a good metaphor at all automatically makes him a good rapper? honestly how does ANY of that make sense?
Great review, this album is amazing!!!
@WuFinancial Interesting. Thanks for pointing that out. Gambino shocked me with this album personally. To me, him and Drake were in the same lane and Drake, when he wants to, can rap. He just hasn't rapped to well lately. Only here and there. It may not stay in my top 10. But I liked the album. And I bought it.
Please review Yelawolf- Radioactive. Drops on the 21st.
@mykectown: Hey, glad you enjoy the music beyond that social/racial boundaries, didn't see that others had already mentioned the topic hence why I brought it up, thats all. Peace.
I loved kids (keep up) letter home, all the shine, freaks and geeks, heartbeat, and firefly
Y'alls reviews are pretty hot
Y'all make some solid points
You guys should check out draft season by Layla khepri
If y'all listen then you'll know that she got skills
What is the name of the instrument used in this review?
@BrooklynJEW7 We have one more coming up Dec 10th.
@coolnesss16 Hey, give it a chance. Then come back and let us know what you thought. Sounds like it's a love it or hate it situation here.
@mykectown Don't even worry about it. It comes as you get more and more subscribers. Just keep doing what you're doing and stick your opinions.
@kashcino1 I don't think 2-dimensional lines that are pretty transparent necessarily warrant intelligence haha. What ultimately disappointed me was that the line "so it's 400 Blows/To these Truffaut niggas" wasn't even a reference to the film's exploration of a troubled childhood and the fame it garnered the director (as a metaphor for how Camp will be his breakthrough), it was just a line to be elitist. If trigonometry jokes geek you out, then listen to Canibus. He will fuck your shit up.
Review Lupes Friend of the People asap!!!
@ashwolves08 He's from Antipop Consortium. One of my favorite abstract hip hop groups.
ok ummmm what is he beat/song at the beginning from ???
not a commercial album but it had a commercial sound... the sound was very accessible.
@StayxXxEdge 18 years! Holy shit! I was only in it for a little less than 10. I got a lot of great friends from the scene and I would probably have never found veganism without it. So I feel you. It just stopped being so important to me after a while, but I still fully respect it. My best friend has a sxe t-shirt company in South Florida and I always seem to get drunkest around him. Ironic. Anyway, nice to "meet" you. Be easy.
@hifivevids everyone is always looking for the next but he does not have the it factor but i wish him well and i assume due to the large response to my comments he will be alright.
Camp is like a movie, Gambino sounds like an actor and has loads of conviction in his voice, and his word play is incredible. definitly the best Hip Hop album to come out in the last 5 years in my opinion !!!
Is b's shirt native instruments?
the classical dope shit in letter home was insane
@hustlerlt84 Them discussing Gambino with The Needle Drop would make for a good Hip Hop Discussion Topic vid.
@Fluke1K We're still trying to get used to that...
@mykectown Haha, it's all love man...and you know what I do agree with the production here, it was niiiice. But lyrically I hold this in the same regard as Tha Carter IV. I mean honestly, it's punchline after punchline after punchline. It's hard to rank that lyrically, like I honestly don't know how....do you base it off how funny the simile is or what?? Just not getting it.
they real chill on this review
@thatcrazyass i know you not talking about wakkk wigger,oh i mean mac miller
I think much of C town's love of the album comes out of him identifying with Gambino/Glover the person. I like this album too, but not as much as Myke.
could u guys review lloyd banks Cold Corner 2
Did these guys review mac millers new album yet.
The only redeeming factor that A$AP Rocky and his crew has is their instrumentals. Purple swag here and there, smoking a blunt, and fucking someone is what he raps about in every song.
@Fluke1K That's part of the game. Personally, I like how people express themselves.
@mykectown honestly, i just think there's a better way to refer to the style other than "bitch." it just has a negative connotation to it and could be seen as offensive.
in all honesty, i just started watching your guys's reviews and truth be told, you're definitely the most sensible of the group and make the best points (though i don't always agree with them). i love your channel though and will continue showing support. just thought i'd say how i feel.
@kasa9884 Why is everyone so stuck on that MISTAKE? I already said I was wrong based on what someone told me. It's not that big of a deal. But the question you asked is exactly what he challenges on the album. But yeah, sorry I listened to what someone told me about his racial makeup and didn't go look it up myself because, honestly, I didn't care. I like his music, not his race. And we already talked about his mixtapes and EPs...but thanks for mentioning them again for those that don't know.
You guys should Review TECH N9NEs new Collabo CD Welcome to Strangeland...
Preach Myke.
limiting your horizons? Great idea. I'm proud of your taste.
Seen Kinge And Feefo On On 2dopeboyz at stankonia studios
@kalilkash973
yeah , i would have expected them to hate it like him. i was surprised anthony didnt like though..
Fast track and decade later and he exited out perfectly from rapping
