He would’ve had the exact dates and everything down to the very minute he checked the book out and what section it was from. Dewey decimals and everything.

The idea that Eminem only influenced corny copycats is absurd. There’s a clip of Kendrick Lamar saying how the Mmlp changed the way he rapped, and you can clearly see the em influence in songs like we cry together

@@Prodbyjah464 Thats one way of seeing it. But in my mind, its more like the Superunknown of Hyperpop. In the sense that it came out towards the end of the grunge era but perfected the entire genre. Everything after that just pales in comparison and feels like too little too late.

If the diss artist retracts his diss, it is not possible for it to be considered a good diss. U can thing it’s a good song, but as it’s intended purpose, it fails.
Daveed’s vocals work in clippng because he needs to enunciate everything properly for you to take in all that dense verbiage. The theatricality just sorta adds to the ‘twilight zone of rap’ vibes the music gives off
Twilight zone of rap is a perfect description of the vibe of clipping.
There being a narrative is also pretty much the basis of some of their most intricate records. It being theatrical/movielike is kinda the point.

I totally get people not liking Eminem's music, but to say people only think he's top 5 because he raps fast is very ignorant of his full technical ability. Though I'm sure there are those ignorant stans out there that do feel that way.
I'm very glad J. Cole didn't do anything to warrant a "Meet The Coles" from Kdot. But then again, very few people on this earth deserve anything as brutal and crazy as a song like that directed towards them.
We woulda found out abt Cole's secret Lambo 😭

Nuthugging
It’s crazy that there doesn’t seem to be a space for Black pop artists. I miss the days of MJ, Prince, Janet and Whitney, when Black artists still could be both pop and R & B with support from labels. The Black pop girls apart from Beyonce aren’t being included in any discussions
I saw something about how few black tv shows there are too
Black peoples music is too good
Like SZA doesn’t get the pop / R&B label because she’s too good and the slow degeneration of the average quality of pop songs is what has led a lot of people to think music itself is getting worse
Jeez. I didn’t even think about that. 😢
I mean, the weeknd, frank ocean sza. Sure there more rnb but I feel like they count
There's all this talk about rapping fast being held as what being good at rap is, yet I so rarely hear respect being put to Busta Rhymes' name
Twista is never mentioned too
Because 99% of the time , thats the take that eminem stans have . And let me tell ya , they dont even know busta rhymes exist ( well , most of them)
@@Tasuliakas It's more like that's the take eminem haters have. You are building a strawman to attack projecting your own lack of understanding of what makes eminem great onto eminem stans and then act like they only admire him because he raps fast. Eminem's flows and rhyme schemes, fast or slow are always creative and exciting and catchy.
@@TasuliakasWhich is insane considering he was one of the people that influenced him.
@@ikhnatonosiris7166 And Twista held Guinness Records at one point.
Bro said TPAB was mid and apologized for it, its not a good diss
Also i love J.cole but its cope to say otherwise
im about to buss
Saying that "Em just happens to rap fast and tricked people" is a terrible take imo. He started the fast rap thing in 2010s, after he released his 3 best albums
i feel like the real critique of eminem is just that he's lost his ability to really be on the pulse of what's going on culturally. his fans talk a big game about how he can't be cancelled by gen z, but i don't think zoomers care enough about him to even bother. also, his punchlines have gotten much stinkier.
@ThomAvella working with the younger generation has made me realize how little they care about 2000s rappers in general in the real world. Yes Twitter weirdos care but Em doesn't realize Twitter weirdos don't represent most people.
I still love Em but he definitely overestimates how much people hate him based on Twitter imo
@@Cevichelicious he's feeding into the boomer complex that gen x seems to be developing at the moment
Yeah even among all the mid albums, I always find a selection of songs that I think are good too, with some I think even being great songs.
@@ThomAvella he does sometime say that Gen Z is trying to cancel him which is a bit annoying. But in TDOSS when he said Gen Z were trying to cancel him it was part of storyline that the album is showing, not in real life. But in the albums before he has overestimated who wants to cancel him.

Saying that Eminem only raps fast to be Top 5 is ridiculous to me. MMLP2 had only 1 fast flows, and even in his MTBMB era he has a lot of decent loved song that he raps normally. Also Eminem clears El-P in lyricism but El-P has a better catalogue and better ear for good music in my opinion
El-P is actually a pretty amazing lyricist, I’d say Eminem is better but it’s not a sweep. El-P’s production combined with his rapping do make him one of the most talented artists in the history of the genre in my eyes though.
@@Ismael-kc3ry Yes. His abstract rhyme heavy songs are my favs. I discovered him with The Full Retard and it's one of my favorite hiphop songs

J Cole’s vibe was never about “going hard”. For better or worse he’s observational, not confrontational.
i've never seen a genre want to die as much as hyperpop. 10,000 gecs and Wallsocket came out last year. To me, the genre isn't dead until people stop making good music in that genre. And i'd still call gecs and underscores very very hyperpop. this is weird, but it's like if nas came out with Hip Hop Is Dead and like 50 Cent, Eminem, and George Bush Jr all retweeted it.

Very curious where Hyperpop goes from here, the groundbreaking artists in the scene have mostly moved on to newer things. Listening to Hyperpop rn is really just the highlights from those artists. Looking forward to whats next(the Dare album has got me hyped)
I think that Underscores album from last year is going to be pretty definitive in the future of whatever hyper pop becomes. Gecs is on its way to becoming a straight up ska band.
@@thehousecat93 Yeah Gecs is probably going in a different direction I liked some of the new songs on the deluxe edition off wallsocket, excited to see whats next for Underscores, but even since the debut I feel like underscores has leaned into a more industrial/alternative and dubstepesque sound last years. Lots of NIN and Skrillex vibes on that album, still very catchy but it's starting to crossover a lot

I think the clipping take is backwards, the lyrics are too Broadway (sometimes) but the delivery can be appropriately dismissive and cold, almost in a billy woods way sometimes, or even obnoxiously aggressive in a way that recalls Danny Brown
I enjoyed j cole's might delete later because i like J Cole. But i do understand that it wasnt objectively amazing.i still enjoyed 7 minute drill, too bad its not streaming anymore. el-p is so good that there was never any debate in hip-hop about whether or not he belonged. eminem was cotnroversial.
and JID will likely be remembered as one of the shortlist greatest to ever do it.
There was never any debate among actual respected artists about whether he belonged. The people who wanted him gone were white suburbanites and bitter, talentless idiots like Benzino or Ja Rule. Everyone from Fat Joe to Rakim to Jay-Z spoke out and said Eminem was amazing when he came out. El-P didn’t get the same ire because he wasn’t famous. Pretty simple.
I frequently say "excusez-moi, bitches" in my head, multiple times per week, in el-p's voice.
It wouldve been a 10/10 if it was called 7 minutes of To Pimp A Butterfly

well yeah this makes sense
Meatcanyon is the beginning of retribution for this guy
That El-P tweet is actually the truth
Cole and Kendrick have nothing on each other, they would just go back and forth comparing each other albums and see who can flow better and come up with better bars and ultimately decide who’s the better MC
7 min drill was whatever but yall can’t act like Might Delete Later and the Off Season isn’t some of the best rapping we’ve heard from him. He’s on another level and this discourse lately ignores that
That intro is some David Lynch stuff
"The Greatest Man That Ever Lived" is low-key one of the better Weezer songs not on Blue/Pinkerton.
I do think J had a good diss track and also think you went too hard on Might delete later as a whole. Like sure the album isn’t a 10/10 but a 3? That’s far too low especially when you got songs like Pricey, Hunting wabbitz, and Trae truth in Ibiza. Only songs on here that could be considered a “Miss” are Fever and Pi. And when it comes to the Diss, the only reason you don’t like it because of the beginning and how much you disagree with it. Personally I just don’t care about it that much, like I still disagree I think those albums aren’t sleepers but who cares.
Pi is literally one of the best lyrical performances of the year bro it’s not a miss💀😭
Both the album and the diss track are good. Him rating MDL a 3 shows he's clearly biased and can't take his critique seriously 🤷...

Its fair to have a bias, but judge the product for what it is, not how it makes you feel on a personal level
I dont personally enjoy certain songs he listens to but i respect the music cuz is objectively good, even if it aint for me
Disregarding a whole ass song cuz he said sum u didnt agree with is just so insane idk how he is comfortable saying it lol, like it genuinely takes away my respect in his music takes

Ok, Here's a hot take for ya then: The Forever Story is one of the most OVERRATED albums ever. Its a great album don't get me wrong, But it's not some 10/10 masterpiece like everybody acts like. I think there are a couple tracks that are kinda underwhelming tbh, I personally don't even think its a top 3 album of the 2020's, I think SIMBI, LP! & Melt My Eyez are more enjoyable experiences. SIMBI IMO does everything TFS does but better, Better rapping performances, Better concept & Much better production, It feels more grand and cinematic, TFS production isn't anything special to me personally, It's solid, At times great, But other times pretty generic for the lane its going for. Overall, Its like a solid 8/10. Great album, But is it better than J Cole's entire discography? Absolutely not lol I'm not even the biggest Cole fan but he has enough good albums in his catalog to keep up with ONE JID album lol, Now compare JID's entire discography to Cole's then ill agree, I actually enjoy DiCaprio 2 & TNS just as much if not more than TFS tbh.
LP! is absolutely amazing so is Melt Your Eyes.
However The Forever Story is absolutely an amazing work of art and to me puts JID in the convo for best rapper of this generation along with Denzel.
@@joshuapittman4663Absolutely agree!!
@@joshuapittman4663 I've tried so many times to get the appeal of TFS, Like whatever it is that makes people act like it a generational album but it just really isn't that special to me. And it's crazy cause I love JID, He's legit one of my favorite artists of this generation as well, And the way people talk about TFS is like it's this rare one of a kind life changing experience, But there's nothing quite that "Special" about the album for me, Some of the lyrical content is amazing for sure, But overall, The tracklist isn't much different from many other albums, Lots of highs, But a good handful of tracks that are just OK. Again, It's still a great, 8/10 level album to me and JID is still a top 5 artist of this generation for me, But yeah I guess I'll never understand the exact reasoning for people calling TFS a masterpiece.
Love to see some SIMBI appreciation
