Thank you. I honestly can’t complain for my first time and a cheap harbor freight paint gun.
2005 models had sonic blue and 2006-2009 had vista blue metallic.

Thanks bro. I’m honestly surprised it turned out so good for my first time! Hopefully this give people the confidence they need to do it themselves. It was time consuming but fairly easy.
Nice job for your first paint job, I bought a wrecked car and I’m going to try to paint the bumper myself. I bought an Iwata spray gun.
Thank you! The paint job wasn’t too hard just time consuming. It was a bit challenging getting the gun to spray the right amount and pattern.
awesome video, dude! here in the next couple weeks im gonna completely repaint my 2009 mustang since the clearcoat has been clearing. how long did it take you from starting to sand it to the point where you drove it out of your garage?
It took me a couple days for sanding and the very little body work I had. Then one day for prepping the car and taping it up and another day just to paint.

Damn dude, you can paint my mustang ! You did such a good job. How long did it take to do the body work?
I think in total I spent about 10 hours on bodywork and another 8 to 9 hours painting the car but that’s including building my makeshift paint booth and getting the car clean and taped off.
How much did it cost with you doing the work yourself?
I think I spent somewhere around $500 total for everything from the time I first started sanding the car for body work to the last coat of clear. It is a lot of work but so satisfying to see the end result.
What all are all the brands and names of it bc I’d love to paint mine just like this
I bought the paint from oriellys. It’s Nason paint and Upol clear coat. I can’t remember what the name of the blue pearl coat is but if I figure it out I’ll let you know.
I'm planning on sanding my black 2014 Mustang GT convertible myself and having it painted Fighter Jet Gray at a shop. The body is in perfect condition. Did you sand it with 400 grit and 600 grit then use a maroon scotch brite pad for the edges and jambs?
I used a red 3m scuff pad on everything besides the spots I had to do body work to. This was probably not the fastest way to do it but worked well.
Nobody rly explains what tools they use. What compressor do you have paired with the harbor freight gun?
I used a craftsman 5hp 22 gallon stand up air compressor with a filter dryer before the air line and another filter just before the air regulator on the end of the spray gun. I bought everything at harbor freight except the compressor I already had.

How much did this cost you?
I bought everything from oriellys. It was somewhere around 5 or 6 hundred. That’s paint, primer, clear, hardener, reducer, seal coat, plastic, tape, tack cloths sand paper and the pearl.

I re sprayed the factory black and did a blue pearl coat over that
Where is the mustang man
I sold it unfortunately. It’s still around my town, I see it almost everyday and it still looks good. Hopefully I’ll be back in another mustang soon
