The only thing that vita ra has over hyryder are the ventilated seats and no of variants I guess,the ventilated seats do not function properly anyways and the hyryder is also lesser in price and less waiting period😁
After 1 month of driving Hyryder V hybrid i feel like I've made right choice by not going with Koreans... I'm getting around 22-23 kmpl in my 2000kms drive. 50% city 50% highway. Faisal drives many cars with turbo engines that's why he feels it underpowered but i guarantee you it has enough power for overtaking even at 3 digit speeds even in eco mode. You dont feel underpowered at all. In eco mode the max I've reached is 150kmph. Suspension are excellent and i didn't feel any crackling noise. Touch Screen Infotainment is not laggy at all, only while starting car it takes 5 - 8 secs to load... Sound quality is also great...Cons - Steering is light and we feel vibrations on steering while driving on rough roads... Headlight and Horn are not that great but will do the work.. Camera quality is also just average not like Kia/creata... Rear headroom is less if you are more then 6 ft. So i feel I've made right decision and if those cons doesn't concern you buy it without any 2nd thought
Edit :- After 7 months and 10k kilometres.
New Pros -
1. Got used to Ventilated Seats and just can't sit in any other car now, especially in Summer.
2. At low RPM engine is even more silent and smooth now.
CONS:-
1. Now a rattling sound is coming from inside which faisal mentioned. It is not too loud but i get irritated by it at low speeds when car is running on EV and music is off.
2. Due to net for sunroof the car is becoming extremely hot inside the cabin. ( noticed only when parked outside in Summer Season)
3. Ac doesn't cool fast when parked outside because of sunroof shade. ( Got is solved by using Z Black film on the Sunroof )
Will be posting my views again in few more months. But still it is a best buy for me and would recommend it.
Edit:- After First Service 12k km & Oil Change.
Only Pros -
1. The service cost is very very low. After Oil change and regular service i recd. bill of only Rs. 4500.
2. Mileage increased by 2kmpl. Now after regular use i am getting around 23-24kmpl in the city as well as on the highway.

What's the warranty on the battery pack? Because with time,the battery capacity will reduce and eventually,will have to be replaced. So does it get an 8 year warranty like EVs?

@@jashanvirsingh2166 at first I would request you to get some more knowledge of this car. It has 2 segment - mild hybrid comes with Maruti Brezza engine(claimed mileage 21) and strong hybrid comes with Toyota's engine and e-CVT(claimed mileage 28)
Now coming to your point, there are many examples where 2 different models use the same engine. So are all those making fools of us ? For example honda amaze diesel and honda city diesel both use the same 1.5 l diesel engine and both are getting sold in good numbers. Is engine the only factor to determine the price of a car?

And when he gave his view from an efficiency pov I don't understand why people who prefer that care if he pointed out the weakness in terms of performance. Yes, dude if you are like Faisal who drives different cars or owns a turbo petrol, diesel, or EV at home you won't be happy with the Hyryder / GV. This is an excellent city drive who drives sedately and loves to see those big numbers on average.
The only issue is , if you buy the TOP-Spec, you can only buy a car with a hole in the Roof, There should be a version with no roof holes, maybe they can call it "ZZ++-NO-HOLE" version. The issue is why should everyone be forced to buy something with a glass on top?. That too in a country with so much sun and heavy rain?. That should always be an option on top spec.

The obsession of a glass on the roof that has moving parts is downright insane.
It feels like something you'll need to pacify other passengers and adds nothing to the overall ride quality or experience. It actually makes stuff worse, as you have said with how bad the climate here in India is.

How was the power?
Budget car? It starts at 12.5 and goes up to 22 lacs. If you are spending that much, just go for an ICE which though is expensive to run you, at least get the fun of driving a powerful car. From what I heard, it gives a maximum 22-23 kmpl city+highway. Any powerful ICE gives around 10-11 city and 19-20 on a highway, and you don't feel like there is any cost cutting in the car.

@@pratikdhodade106 Pick any Skoda or VW, Sedan or Compact SUVs. All 4 cars(Slavia, Kushaq, Virtus and Taigun) are under 22 lacs and are a joy to ride. They are the only cars with 5 safety rating(New) in both adults and child safety in India.
Highly opinionated review. Has very low information on hybrids. People buy Hybrids for a different reason not for boot space.

I guess Faisal himself doesn’t think this much😂. That’s not the case with many vlogs. He showed range rover velar dashboard for Ignis review and BMW i8 for swift and many more luxury dashboards for budget cars

I have taken a test drive on both mild variant of grand Vitara as well as the strong hybrid variant of Toyota Hyryder.
The mild variant is severely underpowered and useless.
From your video should I conclude that the strong hybrid variant is not same (under powered)
I can also conclude that strong hybrid variant is worth buying if somebody has to commute more in cities then on highways

Boot space is small due to the battery placement for the strong hybrid. For normal petrol it is regular

@@sakrokz the driving dynamics and handling is suberb. Buit quality is excellent, which we cant expect from Maruti but can expect from Toyota. Due to the reputation of Maruti in terms of safety, would have never gone for Grand Vitara, but was thinking about Hyryder. But as Faisal pointed out, its just a rebadged Maruti...
What is the mileage you are getting
@Nyandeep Patel its still new so too early to comment, but around 11 to 12 in city and 15 on highway. But people have been extracting mileage of 18 as well.

I have the exact same seats on my Toyota Corolla here in Canada
Had Toyota offered it's axle split hybrid system for the 4WD varient, it would have been at a different level. ICE could have been even a simple 3 pot NA unit powering the front axle and a 80hp electric motor powering the rear axle. Pure EV mode would have been RWD with ICE working as a generator.😉

But that would make costs rise up . They could have done it in their TNGA platform but surely doing it on a Suzuki platform it will require heavy re -engineering costs which according to the manufacturer won't be worth cause it will eventually shoot up the price .
@@unknownanimist2200 True. This concept would make a lot more sense in smaller vehicles. Hybrid technology costs can only be sunk using the sub 4M, 29% tax structure.
Cost of split axle hybrid need not necessarily be high. Smaller 3 cylinder ICE aside, The electric motor can power the vehicle upto 50kmph before leaving it to the ICE. This way the ICE will not even require the multi speed gearbox or its cumbersome clutch arrangement. The battery can be as small as 2kwh. We can expect mileage of 30KM/L.
Reno was trying out this technology in its cars and was calling it the e.axle. The costs would not have worked in the era where hybrids were not compulsory. CAFE2 RDE could change all that.
Just imagine a Reno Triber offering this technology from April 2023😉🤞‼️

Regarding sun shade
I love hyrider but in Hyrider I see very thin sun shade (like mosquito net ) and it’s allowing lot of sun and heat inside the cabin .

Try applying Z Black film on the sunroof, according to one of the user comments, it helps because the car AC is quite powerful

How is your experience with the vehicle till now?
After 2500kms , I observed that battery never charges fully , upon asking the Service Manager about the same , he told that that it's designed that way. EV mode has hardly been available in over 2500kms , EV mode was available barely once or twice and only up till about a km or less. Toyota's behaviour towards Hyryder customers is pathetic as compared to buyer of Innova & Fortuner .
They could not even get a separate key for hyryder and passed on the cheaper MSIL key which is quite a shame for a 18L car. Bits like absence of backlighting on door lock button shows lack of thoughts they had while designing a interior , such this rob interior of its practicality.
Ground clearance and torque rush from electric motor are fantastic , overall decent car. You'll definitely find headroom to be much better in the S variant which does not have sunroof. More than the product, Toyota has been a bigger let down for us personally as we expected to have a pleasant booking and delivery experience which I am sorry to say Toyota does not bother to provide to customers other than ones looking at Camry, fortuner and Innova.
Difference in launch experiece of Hycross and Hyryder shows bias towards customers. Even Scorpio launch and deliveries were better than Hyryder.
It's a hybrid not a full ev. The battery mode is meant for fuel efficiency especially when you are crusing/cruise control. I think it's full filling on fuel efficiency side which it was meant to do.

This is not maruti product, its a toyota original product adapted by maruti as Grand Vitara.
The Urban Cruiser Hyryder and Maruti's Grand Vitara are a result of a collaboration between Toyota and Suzuki. Both are being manufactured at the Bidadi facility of Toyota Motor located in Karnataka.
Brother, being manufactured in a Toyota plant doesn't make it a Toyota..... It is a Maruti because the body-shell, suspension, brakes everything was designed by Maruti except this Hybrid Power-train.... That's what being mentioned & it's correct
They should provide 1.4L boosterjet engine for car enthusiasts so they can cover all types of customers i dont know why Suzuki is loosing it's character by not giving peppy engines
The answer to your comment is that Maruti Suzuki head provided 1l turbo engine in the Baleno rs some years ago and we all know what were the sale of that engine against the normal 1.2 l engine Baleno also they tried their luck with 1.6 diesel in s-cross that also was not successful compared to 1.3 litre Diesel in s-cross this all is enough

1.6 s cross and 1 gen swift diesel is legend . I owned 1st gen swift . It handle very well . The motor will push you to headrest after turbo kick 🦵

The answer to your comment is simply data connection electric costing something around 16 on road with all taxes and no fuel bill for the life practical car with approx 250 km of range which is sensible and we are not going to travel 1000 km one side without having any charging station imagine the amount of money saved by purchasing the electric nexon and also saving of a fuel cost what ever be the mileage but something you have to spend on fuel if you are running to I then your saving will be more and more read Tata nexon electric

Sun roof quality itself is shows build quality
I bet they could make a sporty hybrid engine combo but would not because they think the market for it doesn't exist. The AWD option is welcome, but they made the mistake of pairing it with such a lethargic engine.
