    Our builder messed up the installation and has the 3.5" by 10" exhaust going through a 3.5" hole to the stud bay next to it. Once in the stud bay in fills the entire bay and goes up and out of the house. Our airflow seemed rather weak and I am wondering if by venting through that initial 3.5" to get to the next stud bay, that we are restricting the exhaust to much. Could that be possible?

    I bought my house with an overhead microwave already installed above the oven and I don’t see any screws anywhere holding it in place. My guess is there is a mounting bracket on the backside of the microwave. I do see the AC cord coming through a shelf to the outlet. I honestly don’t know how to remove the oven (it needs to be repaired or replaced). Any suggestions? I did check the adjacent cabinets for possible screws but none were found.

      Hi Chuck Purnell. It will depend on your microwave model. Most have screws that go down from the top so you'll see the heads of the screws in the cabinet above. Sometimes in older models there are screws that go from the front to the back so you won't see anything in the cabinetry. In those cases you may need to remove the grill above the microwave door to access them. Thanks for watching!

      Usually there are two bolts close to the front of the cabinet above the microwave and a bracket on the back of the microwave attaching it to the wall.

      had mine installed but it angels up from back to front a little...looks fine head on but when you look uner from the side you see its out of level..about 1/4 to 5/16's of an inch....should I raise the bracket in back or leave it.?...it is tight to the upper cabinet...

    What happens if you don't have a cabinet above the microwave?

      You need a cabinet to support the front of the microhood. You also needs to have an electrical receptical in the cabinet. I have seen where a shelf has been attached to the wall and then a microhood mounted under it.

    For ductless install, the blower motor is rotated towards the front. I want to check air flow before putting it on the wall. For ductless install where should air blow? From the top?

      Hi Tee Gee! If you are installing your over the range microwave and are not venting it out (ductless) the airflow for most over the range microwaves will come from the top. If you have any further questions please feel free to reach us at 800-860-3736 and one of our experts is happy to help! Thanks for watching!

    Might wanna vacuum all that sawdust before you install the microwave… unless you like sawdust in your food every time you start the fan or open and close the microwave door.

    Why didn't you just disconnect and move the stove out of the way?

      Often easier said than done. Also it's just an unnecessary extra step.

    How much space did you have in between the otr microwave and range?

    • @davidmueller7015
      @davidmueller7015 4 роки тому +1

      You generally need 30" from the cooktop to the bottom of the cabinet. Most microhoods are between 16 and 17inches. So a minimum is 13"-14". In my opinion that is too close for two reasons. First is that being that close to the heat is hard on the microhood. Second is that it is very hard to cook with so little room for larger pots. For less than a 30" opening, a low profile microhood is available from Whirlpool that is very nice.
