I think she meant if they found drugs or something while searching for the girl. They didn't have a search warrant so anything they would have found would be negligible(Unless seen in plain sight, then they would have probable cause to get a search warrant) if proven they had no right to search the property ie a search warrant.

@@nevio2658 False. Probable cause validates entry to the property, as officer has stated he saw her re-enter the home. Anything found while searching for the girl could be charged on the homeowner. The thing about an officer's statement is it's tantamount to factual evidence. A warrant would have been required had the officer not seen the girl, but if someone in the community saw her and called the cops, as eye-witness and cop-witness are entirely different ball parks.

My husband is a retired homicide detective/sergeant. If a subject is wanted, then cops don't need a search warrant to enter a home. The deputy saw the wanted subject enter the house and that gives them probable cause to enter. Period.
