It seems that the guy just reacted suddenly without thinking.
That was probably illegal to run after him! He hadn't done a crime and was just running. He is under no obligation to talk to the police.

That first cop is what we need more of. Recognized the kid was scared, recognized he didn’t need to ruin his life when we was running over nothing, made him pay his dues and nothing more.
Best of luck to that officer, hope he stays safe and trains more of the net generation of law enforcement to be like him
It's also important for kids to know, running away and resisting will get you in more trouble.
@@xDragonInstallx 100% agree, current law student and I think there are two things you should always know when the police are trying to stop/detain you: running makes defending you harder (extra charges, and I promise you won't win - they LIVE to chase people down), and tasers have a much greater range than most people think.
The trick was, he told the cops the weed was behind the seat, and they never looked for the pounds of heroin in the trunk.

He's a good cop. His name is Danny Brown
The first cop is stellar!! Even after having to run when he caught up with the kid the kid was honest and chill. The cop said the kid was being cooperative and then told the kid he had his shoes and was going to get them for him.
Trust me it was MUCH more than just that little bit of weed that he was running for. He probably ditched some other drugs or a pistol in the woods, which is why he just hopped in the other cop's car so they wouldn't go looking for stuff.

Safety First I live in this part of South Carolina. They are typically in the outskirts. But if you go to the Columbia area, there are a lot of plenty great places to visit.

That's a good police officer, the suspect ran from him, & when he caught him, he wasn't mad he maintained professional attitude & didn't let his personal feelings or emotions determine how he treated the suspect. OUTSTANDING JOB OFFICER

horlale Obstruction=Obstruction of Justice and is a pretty broad term that can mean a lot of things of varying severity (lying being one of them and the one he’d be dinged with), and could lead to jail time or a hefty fine.
