i was out proning this day. very impressive mate. i tried to follow you guys when you left. i got about 750m and dropped off foil. made me realise i needed a gear change up. great work and extremely impressed with the bommy to tabourie run. behind the islands takes balls!
@Oceanpixels Dang that looks fun. I'm 95kg dry and not a kid- getting long in the tooth but in total denial. I'm looking at getting a 999 or 1099 for prone to hopefully get some reps in to get my pumping going better. Maybe then someday do some downwinding. I can only sometimes connect on my 890. Arrrg! I'm also just getting started on the Wing. Any recs if you were to get just one of the 2?
For your weight I would definitely go with the 1099. But I definitely believe now that these ART wings suit confident riders. People can learn so much better and faster on easier HPS wings as any technique errors are not so critical. Its easier to recover essentially. The less you fall off the more ride time you have and therefore the more you learn
@@oceanpixels9408 appreciate the honest answer- good to know. I may be able to demo a 990 art and the 980 hps, but have no access to a 1099. Sounds like the 980 could be the safest bet. Thanks!
It would be great to get some advice from you. I am looking to purchase a front wing for medium and light wind Wing Foiling. I am now comfortable flying on a reach and zig zagging. Almost have my flying jibes down. I am now 76kg and had recomendations to also considder the HPS 1050. I am stoked about the 1099 but was wondering if there is a big difference for minimum wave size to get flying or minimum wind strenght with a Hand Wing needed to get flying on the ART 1099 vs HPS 1050? I am not perfict on my pumping skills but I am improving quickly and my 3 years of Windsurf foiling have gotten me very good at pumping up to flight with smaller sails in lighter wind. These are my top two front wings I am considdering right now so any other advice or feadback is very helpful. Thanks!
I personally believe either the ultra or crazy short fuselage. The crazy short will be a little bit more twitchy and faster to turn but also slightly harder to control. I have been using the progressive 325 tail recently and loving the speed and turning that wing allows.
Not one surfer actually surfing in the entire video. What is going through their minds as they are floating around while watching you rip ? I know what I would be thinking. What length fuselage ?
@@oceanpixels9408 sillyshort even for the tiny surf? and also i see that you are all in front on the tracks with the crazyshort, doesnt the advanced fuselage need to go even 4cm more to the front ? thx
@@pedromarcos1472 definitely in small surf. The only time I might go longer is if towing or in bigger waves. I never did not move the mast too much depending if it was the advance or not.
@@oceanpixels9408 Thx for the answer, im testing the 1099, ultrashort, stab 460 and love the glide and pump but hard to turn, now i put the 400p and its abit better, have the advanced ultrashort and crazyshort to test but didnt yet.

Yew was great meeting you. Big span means easy glide. It was obvious the advantage vs Reece 999 as he was soo gassed by the end.

Running rings around the conventional boards. They tend to get annoyed when an intruder appears in my experience.

I have not used the 1050 but used the 980 lots. If winging I would suggest the 1099 as the wind has so much energy
