Efficient Ocean Glides
When it comes to following ocean wind bumps its extremely hard to learn with the SUP and paddle and there is always the annoying part of getting picked up at the end. With the foildrive you can use it to start much easier and be self sufficient

Family holiday to Fiji - Tavarua Island
Переглядів 62314 днів тому
Last November, for my getting old 40th birthday, the family went on an adventure to Fiji and created unforgettable memories. Thank you so much, @tavaruaislandresort, for hosting us and giving so many people the opportunity to experience the beautiful culture, warm-hearted people, and breathtaking scenery. Silly waves for the safety of the public
Переглядів 6 тис.7 місяців тому
Foiling at home is not easy at all with these ridiculous foil bans so you have to look outside the box. Keeping the public safe at the beach means you should go foil waves that probably should not be foiled haha. I made a couple but mostly had to go around the section on most because it was too big with large period and too low tide. thanks @surfupeasternsuburbs for the drone video. Board: 4ft4...

A video I made for the foiling magazine. Oskar and Jeremy stayed with sugarshackfiji for a few nights prior to the armstrong teams photoshoot that would as it turns out be cancelled due to a cyclone. However day one was a success taking the ski out from the mainland and heading for cloudbreak. They got to Tow it alone for a few hours prior to the wind picking up and joining a few wingers and ki...

The Tow Boogie- What is it and is it fun. My opinion is YES. No longer do you need to wait on a late tow partner or deal with their bad driving. Another big advantage in my opinion is that you can use it to explore the coastline and ride multiple breaks in one session. Pretty dam epic
What size pm mast size is best, i have 725 and 935 currently, feel=ling i need some in between
I’m finding that right in the middle-at 795mm-works best for me at the moment. But honestly, just use what you have; the 725mm will be fine. I definitely wouldn’t recommend the 935mm.
great vid - what time of year at Nomutu
This is insane. I’d love to experience an open ocean session like this one day. @foildrive for the win.
so even the new midlength armstrong boards need the antenae for foildrive? I thought they fixed it on new boards and only gen 1 FG boards were affected? That's disappointing.
@@__nathan___ mixed reviews on if it works or not. I definitely prefer having a 💯 reliable communication. The construction of new boards is as strong and the same as previous models. Hopefully in the future there is a solution
No leash? Not worried to lose the board? Or consider it too dangerous for some reason?
Hey No reason at all except I have broken all of mine and waiting to get another one. With the extra weight of the battery I have actually found it much safer with a legrope, the reason i say this is a while back i fell off and the foil kept going did a U-turn and came straight back at my head. With a legrope the tail of board would have been stopped before it could continue on towards me and giving me a decent scar
@@oceanpixels9408 could you elaborate on this. When you say legrope, do you mean ankle leash? How did the foil manage to u-turn towards you? I'm in the process of ordering a foildrive system, but do have some safety concerns about the props etc. Thanks.
Great video. I'm subscribed. What gear were you using again? And did you go downwind and then upwind. What was the total distance? Aloha, Don
He said he was on the HA980, 140 tail, 795 mast on 45L ML board.
Im on the 980 HA here with the 140 dart tail. No shim. I normally ride the 865 mast but when using the foildrive i go with the 795 mast. I didn’t record the distance that day. It’s generally best to start the session going upwind-this way, if you run out of battery, you can turn around and foil back. Doing it the other way might leave you with a long walk. However, due to the coastline here, I did the opposite: I started with a downwind leg and then motored back three times. A friend of mine has a different strategy-he goes upwind until the battery reaches 30%, then turns around and rides downwind back to the start.
Amazing! On the bucket list, thanks for sharing.
Edit just heard you are 96kg......Curios your weight. I'm 100kg. I was able to make the 55L board work in bigger waves (hurricane swell on the TX coast) with a Lift 170 setup as I borrowed the FD setup from my friend. Had a blast and plan on getting one this spring however all my foil gear is Armstrong.
55L and the antenna works great. Im now using the 45l ML from armstrong and finding that to be even funner. However the 45 makes it harder to get up in the flat if that is something you want to do. personally this is not a important requirement for me
Which one yu like best: tow boogie or foil drive???
@@foiltheocean4107 totally different products and purposes. I prefer answering this question if more specific on conditions and user skills.
opening underwater shot is amazing, what camera was it filmed on?

Great honest review & cool video
Nice navigation of the close outs
😅
So rad! Thanks
Excellent foiling. Beautiful turns.
I like the speed flying past sections especially on the left. It had the look like it was so walled up and should I? Of course! Flew right by it like it was standing still

“Team Bennetts” …. Sick footage
This is so beautiful! I love the electric ski. Let's see more of it. I enjoyed your commentary over top.
Sick video
Now I know the next thing I am going to buy. I live in Thailand, this is perfect. What is that toy he has
Sick video lads , that's where I launched from this year , so close.
Beautiful. Great foiling and fantastic 360 video.
Tow boogie looks sooo fun! Seems intuitive to get it to turn. Lookin good on that new Armstrong board 🙏🏽
I’ve had the same problem of not being able to gauge how high I am on the mast when foiling in glassy conditions on the Gold Coast. Kind of annoying because it’s so beautiful when it’s glassy and clear but makes foiling a little bit tricky. Haha. Great video 👍
Looks like an absolute dream. I’d love to try one of the tow boogies one day. Would be such a sick tool to have while foiling
Awesome video. What’s the length you are using on the Armstrong tow rope and how are you attaching it. I have the same on mine. Is it permanent, looping it or using a rail saver to detach?
How did you guys get the battery shipped to Fiji?
They are there already.
I'm impressed you can inflate the boogie just by breath alone. I just about passed out trying to do that.
Thanks for the video. I SUP surfed and tow in foiled Hommus in September, loved that break- having the FoilDrive would have been amazing! Will definitely bring the FD now that the travel batteries have launched!!
How good is that wave! Thanks for sharing Jez
Love Hommus. Jet ski tow ins there a couple of weeks ago. That wave just keeps going!!!
@@Toastypie1 I’m keen to see it on a big day and see how long the wave can be
One for the bucket list .. I rid the same set up with my FD.. what mast position are you at ?
@@FOILING-ITALY hard for me to say exactly as this is a unmarked original proto. About 2/3 up with foildrive. I would suggest I normally ride around 6 on other board without foildrive
Leg burners. Really amazing how long and fun that wave is. FD seems like a real game changer especially getting back to the top after a long ride. Awesome video footage. Thanks for the share.
foil perfection yew
@@pixel_therapy if it’s not it’s super close to it
Great video and review , I use a ML55 with a HA980 and speed 180, with my Foildrive max.. small waves its great but the 980 feels big when it picks up.. how was the HA 680 .. Im thinking of using that next time.. I love the 680 winging but not sure if the FD has the grunt for it .. cheers
@@FOILING-ITALY the 680 definitely works with the Fd but you need to be mindful it’s harder to get going and also that you will use more battery faster. It does however feel great and I enjoy using it
I kite and foil at epic spots in the us but this spot looks amazing, looks perfect for FD. I cant believe you are all alone there. I love the term permanent caravan, we live in an RV full time but we move every 7 days or so. Larry
Xxx@@leapnlarry it’s not always empty but the best wave with surfers is very close so keeps things mellow here. Permanent holiday sounds good 👍
Jesus this is some insanely good riding. Inspiring me to up my game now and stop just going (relatively) straight! Seriously ripping mate!
nice
