Confidence does not equal arrogance. I don't know how the hell people find him arrogant.
I’m dying to know how they are introducing and including Alia. She is an important character from the books and I hope we see her as a child following the books storyline and as she grows as well.
In the book, Paul's heart is with Chani. He marries the princess but never sleeps with her or has any emotional attachment to her - it's purely political. It's a way of humiliating the previous emperor by denying him any descendants.
It’s making a tonne of money and possibly clearing the awards next year so even if Denis doesn’t want to make dune messiah (which he definitely does) the studio will force him to
This explains the changes to Zendaya’s character compared to the book. He used Chani to show the audience he’s not a typical hero; That he does do cruel things to those that love him.
Paul's story is one of a hero that sees the horror of mankind in distress and directs that horror as the monster he allows himself to become, to lessen the blow of what is to come. Doubt we will get the full conclusion to the story much less the concepts proposed by the books in earnest.
Paul was never wanting to be the hero, he knew that he knew the dangers of charismatic leaders. Paul was faithful to the message which is where this movie completely falls flat
There will be a Dune Messiah, I mean the fact that this movie is projected to do 1 billion plus in the box office, the fact that the pre-booking was very popular (I pre-booked when I watched it yesterday in my local cinema) and the fact the audience and critic score is going to be high, all roads lead to Dune 3
Huh. You mean to tell me that when you stick to the source material and don’t butcher it, you can make a lot of money because you please the fans and also attract new audiences through word of mouth? Wow. What an amazing concept.
Wish they kept chani loyal to Paul as she was in the books and made him look like the hero until the end, then explored the antihero aspect as it was in dune messiah.
I still don't think you had to completely change Jessica's and Chani's characters so much to make them prominent characters. Dune, the books did not make it too complicated for people to understand the themes that were at play. The changes made for the move dumbed it down in my opinion.
It's a nonsense. You could leave Chani out completely and the point about Paul would still come across. It's just a lazy appeal to certain people. Once again making the typical strong young female character with masculine characteristics. And that's while having source material where there are plenty of strong female characters and the fricking bene Gesserit. But in my opinion Jessica was done well.
@martinsoukup562 Jessica was ok, but I didn't like the fixation on vilifying her character so much. She was conflicted, but ultimately, her beni geserate training kicked in, and even that was ultimately overshadowed at points for the love of her son. I didn't like how her and Chani were butting heads. At the very end of Dune in the books, she even comforted Chani, and I was really looking forward to their dynamics. Instead, it's just Jessica controlling even Chani when, in truth, she relied on her to help Paul, SMH.
@@lol3ndirit's almost as faithful as to the original as the rings of power. They completely changed Chani which will probably completely change the third movie, they changed Paul quite a lot, they completely left out multiple important power groups, the emperor is basically some random dude that just happens to be there, they pretty much completely changed Alia, they didn't really explore Feyd and so on.

We need Dune Messiah and Children of Dune!!!
From the perspective of Paul being an antihero, Jessica was not offering course corrections, she was prodding him to choose the more dangerous path!
This explains the changes to Zendaya’s character compared to the book. He used Chani to show the audience he’s not a typical hero; That he does do cruel things to those that love him.
I need a part III
I've been a fan of Dune since I was a teenager.
After seeing part one I knew.
There better be a part 3!
Honestly part 2 was incredible
Dune is to us what Star Wars was to the older generation.
I’m seeing this again this weekend!!
there will be a third filmm without a doubt. WB needs a franchise
Please make pt 3
They should’ve had the dialogue between him and Chani where he explains that Irulan is nothing to him
There surely will be, but I hope they take a longer break to really get it right, maybe release in 2028
Hey if Dennis if gonna keep making these FIIIIIIIIIRE ADAPTATIONS.
BRING EM ALLL ON
With the attention and success that Dune Part 2 is receiving from both critics and audiences, I’m pretty certain that Dune Messiah will happen.
Paul's story is one of a hero that sees the horror of mankind in distress and directs that horror as the monster he allows himself to become, to lessen the blow of what is to come.
Doubt we will get the full conclusion to the story much less the concepts proposed by the books in earnest.
They better not let me down!!
The primary conflict between irulean and chani is now basically impossible with the changes they made to the ending of Dune 2
Same conversation JJ had with Mark Hamill about his character being just an introduction haha
The changes made for the move dumbed it down in my opinion.
nah they did, he needed that sweet esg money.
It's rare nowadays to get a movie that is faithful to the book! Thank you for this masterpiece.
Chani character is very different. Denis changed a lot.
@@kassiogomes8498 Yeah. I'm on book 2 as of now.
Leto II is the hero of this story alongside his sister.
I've seen the movie twice now, in regular theaters. Now I'm gonna go see it in IMAX. Can't wait. 😊
I love how us Quebeckers just all have the same cadence when we speak English even when fluent. We can't stop thinking in French and translating on the spot 😂
