Another really interesting video. Sauchie Tower certainly has more history than I knew about. I do hope to see the inside of the tower, if it does reopen.
Check out Doors Open Days. It's open then. Thanks for watching and glad you enjoyed it x
@@scotlandshistory I will have to look into that. Thank you.
Wow, that brought back many memories, I used to play inside the tower way back in the mid 1960's, you could easily access the building back then, me and my pals used to run up and down the stairwell and on to what was left of the first floor, we even played up on the very top of the tower, no health and safety back in those far off days! I remember also there was a celler and a kitchen in the basement and a medieval loo!I visited it a couple of years ago on holiday, it was all boarded up with a new roof on it, I longed to go inside and have a look round by alas it wasn't possible. Maybe someone in the future with a vision and a load of dosh could open it up as a tourist attraction which would fund some much needed repair work. Still in all a great old relic and well worth a visit. Thank you so much for posting this, ah happy days indeed.
Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed it. I can well imagine it would've been a great play area. It's open during Doors Open Days in September, but that's it. It needs a lot of work, and money, and yes, it would be great to have it as a tourist attraction. Maybe one day.
@@scotlandshistory I'll check that out for September, I can see another wee holiday coming up! Thanks for your reply 👍
Some more Breingans near this tower also 😂
