The narrator states at 1 min 14 seconds that the castle guards lochs that lead to the North Sea. This is incorrect. The castle is on the west coast of Scotland and the loch lead out to the North Atlantic
It was on my bucket list. At 78 I finally made it in May of this year. My Granddaughter said to the ticket agent "my grandpa's a MacRae" and the woman said oh, welcome home! It brought tears to my eyes. You need to make it happen, can't describe the feeling.
This is my favourite castle and I visit as often as possible.
As a McKenzie thank you for teaching me some of my own family history.
Yeah, but in Highlander, it's owned by Clan McLeod.😄
I am a McRae descendant

@@TheFortressI think Alnwick is the best castle , please do a vidoe on this castle :(
Beautiful.
Castles are very romantic.🌹
They are now. Before it would've been disgusting and smelly.
Went there . Great setting for a castle. Very interesting place
What a beautiful place
Agreed!
Castles are really interesting
Definitely!
Been there, found it by accident. Beautiful place x

Isnt that the castle from Highlander?
What month was this filmed in?
It is beautiful and it's location stunning, but it has nothing on Mont Orgueil Castle down here in Jersey, lol
MacRae clan, here!
I am a macrae descendant.... my maternal grandmother was a macrae
My Mum was a a MacRae -and we used to call this Pappy'sCastle
Used in the first highlander film.
Have you filmed a video of Bamburgh castle in Northumberland? It was recently used in the new Indiana Jones movie!
This Castle belongs to the McRae CLAN....I'm one of them 😊😊
You missed a trick-Highlander Movie (1986) was filmed here.
The Castle looks better from a distance
My clan castle! I mean to visit one day.
It was on my bucket list. At 78 I finally made it in May of this year. My Granddaughter said to the ticket agent "my grandpa's a MacRae" and the woman said oh, welcome home! It brought tears to my eyes. You need to make it happen, can't describe the feeling.
Reminded me of the castle in Highlander.
Should do. That's were the McLeod stronghold scenes were filmed.
Ahem,, "best" and "most beautiful" are *not* synonyma *. . .*
You make a cake, but you build a building.
Externally very beautiful. The interior is a far more modern feel, which drops it down the list for my favourite UK castle.
Mackenzie reminds me of this one criminal clan in Ireland. Forget what
A very hot Scot once proposed to me here. ♥️
Chloe, you can’t stop there. What was your reply / response to the question?
Awww! Romantic!
And? Still married?
Want to know more about my Scottish Ancestry
Highlander...
I’ve visited this castle. It’s a beautiful location , but not much of a castle.
Nothing of this castle is original , was destroyed in 1700s , and the one we see today was rebuitin the early 1900s
I think red stone Bothwell Castle is better
I'd take Manderly Castle over Donan.
its fake, rebuilt in the 1920's, and its eeeeelian donan
No
I’m a MacRae , and I’m related . Can I move in ? My old trailer isn’t doing it for me 😊
Wonderful video!
