Another really interesting video. I hope that everything goes well with the works that are being carried out. It looks like a lovely wee place.
It's in a stunning location. Thank you so much for watching Claire x
I was there as a bairn in the 1960's and 70's - Loved it. Many happy memories...
It's such a shame it fell into disrepair but I'm sure now it'll be a huge draw. Thank you so much for watching.
Reminds me of when I was a kid in the sixties, my parents would sometimes take us on a day-trip to Bangor, Co. Down. It had an open-air sea, filled swimming pool which used to boast that it was 1 or 2 degrees warmer than the sea itself. Sadly it was demolished in the late seventies to make way for a marina. No one my friends or I knew owned a yacht but no doubt the town councillors did.
That's a shame. With the rise in wild swimming it would've been well used today. Thank you so much for watching.
Crikey, how did this pop up? I was there in 1993, I think, for the music festival. Amazing place and an amazing event, what I recall of it, lol. Fishing boats anchored outside the pool, lights on as the sun fell, bonkers crowd and brilliant bands.
Thank you for making this.
Thank you so much! It sounds idyllic, and I'm glad it brought back some happy memories.
There were had many years of hot summers in the late 1920s and 30s. which drove the construction of the Lidos and outdoor pools throughout the UK. Hopefully Tarlair can be brought back to life.
I'm sure it'll be a draw for folk. It's in a stunning location too. Thank you so much for watching.
