What a charming young woman she was here. David Letterman had a SPECIAL relationship with Teri Garr, but Johnny Carson showed that he was the King of Late Night with how perfectly he handled Teri Garr. Citizen Free Press brought me here Kane, I would love to interview you! Hit me up! I will pray for America. Please pray for me. God Bless you.
I'm a Teri Garr fan. Especially her work in Star Trek and Frankenstein. I don't know if she's reading fan mail anymore, but I've been trying to find out how to get a letter to her. Had no luck with old agents of hers. Or her social media fan clubs. I keep forgetting she had issues with obsessive fans or something like that years ago. That's probably the obstacle. Awesome lady, no matter what. Would be nice to thank her for her work and how she had a positive impact on my relatiosnhip with my Mom. If I never get the letter out, I will trust she has faith in the spirit of the work she's done. True artist.
@@tilt0matic2 That Star Trek episode was actually a pilot for a new show. It would have been a great show. It is a shame nobody had the vision to produce it.
I was very taken with Teri Garr during the Letterman years, and realize now much more so what a delightful, witty, and beautiful soul she is- so charming! She played the ditz in all things, including interviews, but was far from that.
Johnny and Teri (RIP both of you) I love Teri and saw her many times on the Tonight Show and loved her. I will miss her so much already..................Love to you both.............Betsy Basile
I have a crush on Teri. I enjoyed every time I saw her in anything she did. When she disappeared from public view I guess I just didn't wonder why. Since she passed I found out about her health issues. So sorry to see that she went through all that. But she kept "her chin up" during all. What a wonderful person. Rest In Peace, Teri ❤
As great as she was, l don't think film and television knew what to do with Teri Garr. She was totally unique and funny and wonderful to watch, and would be difficult to write for. What a sweet and special performer.
I am so sad to hear that Teri passed. I really loved her especially when she was on with Johnny Carson's show. The episode with Teri, Martin Short and Michael Keaton was hilarious and I didn't even know she had MS. I am really going to miss her...................Betsy B
Heaven is full of the most respectful beautiful people like Terri and Johnny. I hope I get to spend time getting to know them both when my trip is booked. The TV is gonna rock for sure! Lol.
Sadly, those tv days of gentlemen, and women with class are gone! Comedy that didn’t have to be overly sexual or profane to be funny! When people actually engaged in meaningful dialogue and civility was lauded over ego.
It’s an interesting conversation that Johnny was great at doing. And everything didn’t have to end with a joke. He could also talk to little old ladies that weren’t in show business, politicians from both sides, sports figures, anyone. He had a real gift!
I cannot believe she is in her early 40s here. She looks so young. The 2 movies John mentioned were billed in 85/86.. She was born 1944. The year now is 2024.. boy she was very yummy
Even though it wouldn’t be until 2002 that Teri would finally disclose her MS diagnosis, it’s pretty clear in this interview that she was already having symptoms. 😔😔
Johnny Carson seems particularly hostile in this video. What is it about Teri Garr that got him on edge? You know how Carson met his wife. A woman walked down onto his private beach and paraded around in her swimsuit until he came down and chatted with her. The rest they say is history.
What a beautiful charming lady. She was hilarious in Young Frankenstein! This was the wonderful world of American TV we once knew. Aren't we lucky we now have social media, influencers, Marxism in university's to show US how wrong it all was. Not talking about politics, global PBS warming & everyone's sexual preference.😢
Could watch/listen to her talk all day. No adjectives to describe her. Stole every scene she was in without even trying. She was the only reason I watched the (otherwise banal) TV series, "McCloud."
@@gastronomist Why would she get a Letterman video if she did not die? That is what the channel does. A celebrity dies, and they release a video from the show of that celebrity.
Teri Garr (1944 - 2024) Rest in Peace. A funny vivacious personality. She was comedy gold in some great movies. I will miss her.
It has been almost 35 years, and I still miss Johnny Carson.
You're not the only one. He was the gold standard.
I just love Teri Garr. She's so charming.
That smile…❤

That will be tough. A friend of mine married a very famous comedian and she pretty much acts like I'm dead. Famous people tend to be paranoid.
She has MS -- for MANY years. She basically quit working as an actress.
+1000 for the Roberta Lincoln reference. Kudos.

'Young Frankenstein' not Frankenstein
Rest in peace, Teri ❤

RIP to this dear lady. Talented funny woman and faced MS admirably. We'll miss her. RIP
lovely. why can't we all just stay young?
I have said that SO MANY times, as we really are at our best physically, but then we get older and wider, err…., I mean wiser.
Everyone loved Teri back in the day.
She was the consumate "girl next door".
It's been about 12 hours and I already miss her 😥
Teri was a sweetheart. RIP, Teri. You too, Johnny. It was great knowing both of you..

Teri Garr made Young Frankenstein into comedy gold.

“Roll roll, roll in the hay” who remembers that scene with her in Young Frankenstein? 😅
I loved her appearances with Johnny and also with Dave. RIP Teri Garr
RIP
Loved you since the 60’s
I love this...can't believe they're having a normal, fun conversation like adults.
Teri, you will be missed. Rest in Peace.
RIP gorgeous 😍 "PUT ZE CANDLE BACK!" 😊
Put Ze Cendle Beck!
Crazy. Carson died at age 79. So did Terri Garr.
Entirely coincidental but ironic, nevertheless. 🤔

Teri Garr, always beautiful! 😉

I loved this woman. Sad to learn of her passing. Typed on 22 Nov., 2024. A sweet, flirtatious, intelligent, great dancer! * Cav *
Loved this! ❤
Luv'ed Teri from the moment I saw her on an early Star Trek episode.
Rest in heaven, angel.
Such a real person, she was❤. I remember being a kid and seeing her as 'Inga' in Young Frankenstein.😍
Lauren Bacall and Terry Garr. My 2 on-screen loves
Now that hits home.
Teri Garr , will always be Miss Lincoln.
She was great in After Hours Martin Scorsese film
Rest in peace, great actress and comedian Teri Garr!

JOHNNY WAS ONE OF A KIND THE KING OF LATE NIGHT
After Hours is a classic dark comedy.

A lovely funny lady , I loved the film Miracles
I should watch that. I really liked her on "Star Trek".
They don't make them like Teri Garr and Johnny Carson anymore.
So ok I'll admit, when she did that star trek episode back in the late 60's, I was almost 10. But wow.
Teri is so cute and charming in this video clip. RIP Teri
My very first celebrity crush as a young adolescent.
RIP, Teri Garr.

RIP Teri Garr. You were a sexy class act!
Coy, sultry and naughty. Normally I'm a brunette man, but Teri was special.
Sadly, those tv days of gentlemen, and women with class are gone! Comedy that didn’t have to be overly sexual or profane to be funny! When people actually engaged in meaningful dialogue and civility was lauded over ego.
Meaningful dialogue?? Did you even watch the video? He starts off by asking her if she would ever work for an “escort service!”
It’s an interesting conversation that Johnny was great at doing. And everything didn’t have to end with a joke. He could also talk to little old ladies that weren’t in show business, politicians from both sides, sports figures, anyone. He had a real gift!
Now it's just disgusting evil degenerates.
Sweet lady! R.I.P.

If I don't watch this, only listen, then this sounds just like Phoebe Buffay.
American Sweetheart.

Thank you DOCTOR MD
Her leg movement, kicks?
I didn't notice anything abby normal
She seems a bit tipsy
Classy girl. RIP
She’s a sweetheart.

I've always loved her. So cute and funny.
I. Love. Teri. Garr. When I was a young man, I thought she would be the best wife ever. For me.
Me too. If she ever became angry, I'd be aroused lol
Terri Garr was such a beautiful lady.
Little known fact, Teri Garr was a writer for The Simpsons. ; )
This poor women was always getting hit on by every talk show host. lol
Love you Teri ❤
Teri Garr was my favorite. She is intelligent actress who can act stupid in a super cool way.
Adorable woman.
Teri Garr was so adorable and funny. I guess Johnny Carson just liked exchanging wisecracks with her. But not talking about her career.
“ what did you use, a 38?” Teri, a 38 a 39, whatever it took.
Star trek, young Frankenstein, dumb and dumber. She was great.
🙏🥺😇
She reminds me of Lisa Kudrow
That's why she was Phoebe's mom!
Teri Garr was much prettier and nicer too.
Their voices sounds alike. I think Teri is prettier too.
Do you have any more Teri Garr appearances?
This is all I have for now.

As if his wife didn’t know where she was.
Johnny had MANY wives. He was a great talk show host yet not a great man. He was a womanizer. Fact.
I'm going to start using, "PBS."...I love Terri Garr but sorry, there is no "book."
A very attractive woman in many ways. RIP.

Right out of the introduction he asks that question???????????????????????
Could watch/listen to her talk all day. No adjectives to describe her. Stole every scene she was in without even trying. She was the only reason I watched the (otherwise banal) TV series, "McCloud."
I guess Johnny Carson had no interest in what Teri Garr's latest movie was. But liked talking to her anyway.
she's quick and very bright.
