Hello. Can I ask why you changed the gearbox oil? My Vito is difficult to select 1st and 2nd gear. I checked the linkages, all OK. I have read that changing the Gearbox Oil can improve the shift, is that why you were changing yours?

Hi, I’ve changed the oil because I cannot find when it was last changed.
Mine was difficult to select 1st,2nd and reverse. The oil change did not make any different so I decided to change the shift bush and gearbox flywheel switch which made massive improvment and the shifting now is like new.
Keep an eye I’ll be posting in few days how I changed the flyweel switch.

@@totaldiy2504 On closer inspection underneath I had a sort of swinging Weight that should be attached to the gear linkage. Some kind of Inertia Weight, but it was not attached. The linkage was still there so I reattached it. Gear shifts from 1st to second have improved significantly. Still a little notchy, but much better!
It is lose, so will fall off again. I have ordered a new one.
Also, the bearing on the swing weight is completely worn out, but it looks like I have to buy the entire swing weight because you can't get the bearing on its own!
