We only had time for a quick video this week, but we have some really good projects coming up so please like and subscribe and we will try and keep the content coming. All the best to everyone and thanks for watching.
Loving the vidz Sam. You’re looking more comfortable too. Would love to see you open up some old 70s 80s 90s classics as well as all these AMG beasts. 🥇
Excellent videos - love seeing work actually being done, even though my mechanical achievements in life amount to an oil change on my old Ford Cortina back in the day.. and those were the days for working on cars. Wish you had more subscribers.
thanks for you kind comment, hopefully we will get more subs as the year goes on, were going to give it 12 month and see if we can turn it into something.
Love your videos and the quality of your work is right up there, that’s why I come to you. But just for fun and because I can - that jump lead in my car has never been used on my CL, when the battery was flat it simply got a new one. But you are right, I’m not using the car as often as I used to, nice reminder 🤣
Just figured out that you can do this with an Autel MK808S -- you don't need the MB scan tool. It does the same procedure (bleed not running, bleed running, increase idle while you adjust oil level). Great video!
@sreitshamer - This is great information to know as I am looking to purchase the Autel MK808S. Do you mind me asking what is the function called in the Autel MK808s and how you get to this function? Also what car you undertook this on as I am assuming it had the 9G MCT Transmission (eg. c63 or GLC63, GT63) in it and not the standard 9G which is in all the non AMG versions - I would very grateful if you could respond. Thanks!
@@Jason12345-J Don't remember what the function is called but I'm sure you'll find it if you explore the menus. It was on a 2021 C63 with the "Speedshift" (MCT) transmission.
@@Jason12345-JDid you ever find the menu on the scan tool? My c63 just hit the service interval for this service have all the tools except the $500 MK808s just want to make sure I get the right model. Appreciate it brother!
A lot of people have a moan about how complicated it now is to do this stuff, but seem to forget how many people are too eager to stick the wrong fluid or miracle fixes in modern gearboxes.
in January I made the exchange for my 9g tronic from a cls 350d 2016, but unfortunately things were worse than before, the box went crazy after 1 month and started changing chaotically and very late, many resets and updates followed soft I hope that in the end I will be able to solve it, can you also leave me an address if you live in London for a check?
Hey, wnat to ask you, whats the difference between AMG and not AMG Oil sump? Little bit outside shape and differen position of magnets, maybe one extra magnet. Is it possible to use "normal sumo" on AMG? Or whats the difference. Thanks.
OMG great video you must have so many merc customers come to you rather than going to main dealer my question is does merc put all the procedures in place so you go to main dealer ...yes 100% as its a oil change change the oil and good to go all this stand on one leg for a min then repeat ...lol nonsense
Awesome video. Curious you didn't torque the pan in the MB suggested sequence, but i guess that's more of just to be sure thing. The pan is very rigid and the gasket is also very high quality so i think there is a pretty large margin to work with. Thanks for the awesome video, love seeing indy shops do these types of jobs most Benz owners would rush to the dealer and pay top money for.
Is it a standard practice at the workshop not to drain out the convertor in the gearbox? Youre definitely saving om time but dosent the customer pay for the full gearbox service? As in draining as much fluid out as possible. With the converter i usually use 10L of oil instead only 6 with just draining the pan
I can’t speak for all brands but Mercedes gearbox service instructions show what we have done, we do offer torque conversion drain aswel but it bumps the bill up a fair bit because of extra labour and fluid at £15 per ltr. Also not all mb converter have a drain.
That’s a good question. I can’t say for sure what component it comes From inside the box as I’m not 100 percent sure. I’m guessing torque converter and valve body.
It's from normal wear of the clutches. Especially the C63 version of this transmission doesn't have a torque convertor, it's a dual clutch transmission At least thats where you WANT that material to be from :) Less optimal would be wear of the actual gears, or bearings......
I was waiting to see how long it would take until that question came 😂 MB repair Manuel gives you 2 options with or without. We do offer a torque converter drain it’s entirely up to the customer and cost, this job is expensive.
Customer shouldn't be given a choice drain the torque converter has part of service, over 3 litres of oil in torque converter. You do this job once in 5 years do it properly ,I've done this on my 9g removed over 8 litres of oil.

Nathan will go far. Not a flicker of pleasure or emotion, pure SPR servicing.
He is doing really well.
Gearbox oil changes used to be so straightforward in my day.....😮😮😮😮
Good to see the knowledge and tech that we are paying for, another good video, keep them coming😊
loads of good info on your channel much appreciated

Great video. But try and show the people how to do it without the machines. No one has that machine at home😂😂. Thanks for your videos
The SLK in the background looked rather familiar. I sold one just like it to Matt.
Wish we had a service center like yours in my area of the US. Lovely wagon, too bad they C63s wagons were not brought to the US 😭.

What is the recommended service interval on the 9 speed gearbox?
What mean by Gearbox Service B ?

Magnets and filters are different from memory, and no I wouldn’t use a none AMG sumo on an AMG. There is a reason they made it different 🙌
Would the car shift better after this? My 2016 cls is being done first time next week at 95,000 miles 😅
it should improve things yes.
I'd love to hear your opinion on the piece of junk that is the 722.9
I’m sure we will get some 7 speed content
Dumb question, where do you get the tube that fits on the gear oil bottle to put the differential oil in?
No question is a dumb question.
It comes on the castrol bottle 👌

How much is a Gearbox Service on a 2017 E220D AMG Line please.
£540 all in parts labour vat

So how much oil does geabox takes in service like this one?
Pump in 7ltr do the bleed and Mybe get 2 ltrs back out
is a manual gearbox serviced in the same way?👍👍
I Manuel box it’s pretty much very similar to servicing the differential

I would have liked to see the torque convertor drained, however this car doesn't have one. Because the C63 is a DCT.
The metal that the magnets trap, where does it come from? What wears that much? Manual transmissions don't have magnets.
That’s a good question. I can’t say for sure what component it comes

No you always replace any oil filter

😂
Don't you also need to drain the torque converter? That's what I have done on the 7 speed version anyway.
