I have used Tzone before and will continue to use it! I was overrun with creeping charlie, clover and plantain and Tzone eliminated all of it. Now my zoysia lawn looks great! Could not have done it without my my4sons powered backpack sprayer, It's a Cadilac! Going to use it next week to spray on some fertilizer.
Thanks Matt. I used T Zone this year and loved it. I enjoy the fact that you can spray with confidence and knkw that a variety of weeds will be affected. We et hit hard with Nutsedge and it really works well. Have a great Holiday season.
My local uber lawn care store basically just told me to get this, and I have learned to follow their orders and not ask questions, as they are always correct and refuse to explain to you anything. Fantastic video, gives me (even more) trust in the firm.
I got excited when I saw this video. I use TZone a lot and have had great results! In my area I can actually get it cheaper than a lot of other products, especially speed zone. Also I like it because no one in my area uses it. Every time I ask other companies if they have tried it they don't even know what it is. One thing I noticed this past fall after applying in some of my fescue yards that have some Bermuda in them was that the Bermuda got burnt up pretty good. My customers were actually happy because they hate Bermuda lol. Great video!
With sulfentrazone, I've literally seen discoloration on the plant where the droplet hit, within minutes. Talk about seeing immediate MOA! I actually prefer it over carfentrazone when it comes to speed. Maybe QS is better in cooler temps, idk. Matt, please design me a 6 app program for Bermuda/zoysia 🤣. Ok, 1 for centipede also 🤣🤣🤣
2,4-d in Tzone is all ester version, along with the triclopyr. Much stronger versions than the amines....more volatile though so be careful with your sprayer.
I used Speed Zone last month with great results. Definitely discolored for a bit in a few areas, even killed some struggling newly seeded fescue, but there's NO weeds anywhere! I'll fix those patches in the spring. Great review!
+Andrew P. Speed zone is a great product. I'll be talking about that one in an upcoming video. It's another 2,4-D product but in lieu of the Dismiss/sulfentrazone as a kicker, it has Quicksilver's active ingredient Carfentrazone. Carfentrazone is very similar to sulfentrazone
+Velvethamma I'm with you - I always roll my own products. I like having the flexibility of manipulating rates. More nutsedge? Up my Dismiss. More Violets? Up my triclopyr.
Melvin Gunter I use Helena Chemical herbicides most, so I use EndRun as a 3 way, Trycera for triclopyr, and will use Nassau in the future for sulfentrazone
Melvin Gunter Nassau is exactly half the price of Dismiss. sulfosulfuron is a great product for warm season grass. I never had much luck with Certainty on anything but nutsedge though.
i know this an old post...but at what mixture would you put down t-zone in a backpack sprayer ( 4 gall.)to do spot kills (not whole yard) would 1.2-1.5 oz. be the right mix/ gallon. in 2 spots of my yard i have ground ivy( mainly coming from my neighbors yard, its ALL ground ivy) by summer time it just takes over certain areas of my yard. i use 3-way to start in spring(its MUCH cheaper) then i will try t-zone (already bought it. 82.00/ gal.) to knock out the rest that wasnt killed off as the season progresses.does that sound like a good plan of attack?? fescue yard.when i say later i dont mean summer, later spring
Here in Massachusetts. Homeowner. I'm dealing with a variety of weeds, but the violets are what I'm looking to knock back. I figure soon as they start to flower. I'd like to do them as soon as possible. Is ground temp important? Thanks for sharing your knowledge. I read the label, but more is better.
@@Anthony-fi9ml Triclopyr with Methylated Seed Oil as surfactant alone will wipe them out in 10-14 days. This mix just works faster (like scorched and wilted overnight). Mine did not return, it’s been three years.
Thank you! This is very informative! Sounds like this may get the wild violets in my yard if I can wait till it is below 85 for a few days, no wind, and not dry. Lol. I am a novice lawn caretaker and am curious about how potentially harmful this product is to humans or animals, and also about any known long lasting harmful residue, etc. Can anyone give some guidance?
There will be a re-entry interval on the label, but it's basically an hour or so and you're golden. May want to look at straight triclopyr for your violets. Cheaper, and higher degree of efficacy
Spurge! I have a ton of Spurge. Initially I misidentified it as leszpedeza. Tenacity didn’t work. Change Up knocked it back a bit. I need a herbicide recommendation to kill this Spurge before I overseed in about a month.
No mention of turf damage when spraying in cold temps? I experienced this spraying late in the season and confirmed it with my chem rep. that it will discolor turf if spraying at too low temps. Be careful spraying when too cold. You will brown the turf.
I have come across quite a bit of poison ivy in a part of my yard. It is listed on the label as a plant it kills. My question is, how does the plant absorb this product? Is it mainly through foliar absorption?
My curiosity is the shelf life of TZone, because if it works like advertised, then I may not a lot. So, would it last for a couple of years, only using the small amounts each year?
I used T-zone on creeping charlie 2 weeks ago. I may have been too late for the creeping charlie. We had our first night time temperature in the 30 last night. It is Oct 16th. Is it too late to add a 2nd application? They are not predicting lows only getting to the 40 as the coldest for the next week. I really did not see any affect of the T-Zone on the creeping charlie so that is why I think I need to apply again. I used 1.5 ounce/gal, but I think I have about 1000 square feet of creeping Any advice? Thank you for sharing your knowledge.
@@TheGrassFactor So I was thinking of a 1-2 punch. I have an out of control backyard that I battle every year. Bermuda lawn in Dallas TX. Hi do you think that the ortho-max-weed control (premixed with the sprayer) is a decent weed killer? I recently applied seed a week ago but I have to spot treat some weeds before they get out of control.
Can I use scotts step 1 after using t zone? Just realized I forgot to do step 1 but I sprayed my entire lawn with t zone yesterday. Cant find any info regarding this.
The Grass Factor I was thinking of running a catch all Q4 with spot treatments of Cross Cut for saplings or doing Drive for spot treatments of crabgrass with T Zone as a spray all for broadleaf and saplings. Dealing with established crabgrass, rampant bindweed, saplings, plantain, spurge, common dandelion, and thistle.
Also some nutsedge but that is minor compared to the first 2 weeds listed previously. Was thinking of Drive with Speedzone or Gordon Trimec Classic but that still leaves out a few of the weeds I'm fighting up here.
I have used this product and have great success with it against Creeping Charlie. My lawn was totally overcome by it and with methodical spraying I wiped out Charlie
I did a broad application of T-Zone on over half my yard to kill creeping charlie, wild violets, oxalis and clover. Grass has been yellow for two weeks and there are a lot of weeds still alive. Disappointed actually. Gonna do a 2nd app in two more weeks.
