Just shop around, you don’t have spend a lot on diamond art supplies. Temu has some decent stuff and Amazon. If you have the money for this hobby then Etsy is nice. Just feel like Etsy was hard push in this video. You can use any of wax from your kits. Diamond painting isn’t a rush craft. For ABs, you can use a white crayon or a nail art wax tip pen, which is not that expensive You won’t need the round storage or Elizabeth wardens, unless you are doing a painting that is 30 colors or more. I personally, just open and dump in my tray and put the extras in my storage bags with the dmc codes and just lay them to the side till I need them. This way I am don’t wasting anymore time and money on accessories, you don’t actually need. I rather spend my money on actual diamond paintings :)
It definitely was very small shop oriented as it was more for the want everything crowd. I certainly understand what you’re saying and will look into doing a budget friendly aftermarket accessories video. Thank you so much for your feedback.
Thank you for the nail art wax tip pen advice for ABs. I was worried about using tweezers as I dont think that will be comfortable for me, especially with rounds, but I have several of those wax tip pencils. I will give them a try. And yes I agree that you can get decent stuff from Amazon, Temu, Aliexpress, and the stuff that comes in the kits. I had my friend watch some diamond painting videos to help her better understand what I do and she was asking me if I had all these special storage things, waxes, pens, etc. I'm just starting out, so I am very basic with my items and I honestly prefer to put more of money towards paintings like you do. As long as you have a few pens you like, you will end up with a ton of wax in each painting you get and I dont mind changing the wax out, and you will end up with a ton of trays as well, you are good to go then. I appreciate learning about more expensive items from this video, but yeah it did seem very Etsy-centric not really from a beginner mindset or a person on a budget.
I make the sheets inside, you can email me for a copy at ditzysdiamondden@gmail.com the binder itself I went to walmart after the start of school when stuff was on sale and bought it there!
Hi... loved your video. I'm only addicted to the paintings. I have 100+ canvas from different companies. Until recently I used the pen that came with the kit. I have two comfort grips on it and that works fine for me. The only other thing I've purchased besides canvases are trays... I have several trays. My wax is either the wax that comes with the kit or earthquake put. I'm on a no buy right now cause I have so many but my unicorn is Hannah Lynn's Mother Nature, I'd love to have that. Thanks for letting me share!! ❤😂
Oh wow thats a nice stash. Have you tries the de-stash group for Mother Nature? I will x-fingers for you finding her at a reasonable cost! Thanks for sharing.
I am outside of Dallas Texas. I have yet to find a putty that I’m completely happy with, I’ve even tried blue tack and earthquake, etc.. I tend to use the wax that comes with the kits in my multi placers, and just replace it a lot and sticky dots in my single tip.
Hallo Sweeties! Oh my goodness, you guys! I would die at eighty degrees! We set our thermostat at 65 degrees and it stays all year long, even in the winter. Considering we are only about 50 miles below the Arctic Circle, our furnace and central a/c need to do some heavy lifting. ☺️ I just received my order from Dream Wax today at lunch and almost cried at how awesome that wax is. I had tried another small shop first, and I’m guessing that might be a good one to take outside in the summer as it is super hard. I use a wax pencil for my coated drills, which doesn’t disturb the coating in the least - I am loving it❣️ Besides, I saw the wax box on Yellow Dog’s website and HAD to have it; it fits the block from Dream Wax perfectly! (I purchased mine in the red/gold/purple shifter, which sounds an odd combo, but is STUUUUUUUUNING on this wee box!!!). You asked about other household items that we repurposed, and I have one that I LOVE! Years ago, my hubby’s mom (whom I call Mom as well) gave me a GORGEOUS dark stained wooden tea chest from The Bombay Company. When I received it there were a dozen different kinds of tea, which I drank decades ago, but I could not bring myself to throw it out. When I started diamond painting I grabbed that out of storage, gave it a good cleaning, and it now holds my waxes and putties; I just have to keep my dream wax blocks elsewhere. I find that it is a really good way to see exactly what I have in stock and if anything needs re-ordering. I also use two of the sections to keep my smaller items: one section has cover minders and the other has pen charms that I received in the mystery bags from Enchanted Succulents. It makes a beautiful way for me to store some of these smaller items and keeps me well organized. Because much of the top is glass, the colours of the different waxes adds to the look. Since I used that, I grabbed a wooden trinket box a former boss had made for me. He pieced together all different kinds of wood into a block with resin (much like a pen blank) and then turned and carved this little box and its cover. I use it to hold my various tips and the two pieces look really pretty beside each other. Right now I have a really cheapy little wooden box from Temu holding my pens, but I don’t expect that to last for many amount of time, so I will be keeping my eyes open for something like your pen holder, but in medium to dark tones. Hugs Freon the Northwest Territories, Canada❣️❣️🇨🇦
