Thanks, Nutn! Your video really inspired me to go out and get the PRW-6000Y-1. Amazon had it on sale for $370 w/free prime shipping. This will be my second watch owned in 18 years. My wife bought me the Citizen Navihawk T-Bird edition back in 2000 when I was still active USAF. It's made a couple of trips back to Citizen for maintenance, has plenty of scratches and wear, and occasionally resets on hard impact. It's served honorably, but on Wednesday, with much reservation, I will retire the Navihawk for the new Pro-Trek! Looking forward to the change of command ceremony!! Thanks, again! -Will
This watch is worth every penny. Exceptionally rugged design, barometer is very accurate and useful when working out in the field. After watching studying the barometer in contrast to observing the weather, I can now understand the measurement in pressure to predict upcoming weather patterns for where I am in the wilderness. I shoot nature documentaries and this has come in exceptionally handy during drone flights and hiking. I love this piece of gear and trust I implicitly. Not to mention it's ability to keep time via RF sync. Worth every penny and I recommend it with the carbon fiber band. Outdoorsman, this is your watch.
A great watch! Had it for more than a year now, works flawlessly, never had to adjust the time, never went out of battery power. My only criticism is that the glass could be made stronger, it scratches very easily if you accidentally hit it somewhere.
Definitely a repost. Long time watcher. Keep up the watch vids though. It's something I wanted for so long and am happy to see it being realized now. Used to make me laugh when you reviewed those old timex pieces, definitely a step up lately. Thanks for the vids!
Wife bought me a Casio Pro Trek 2500T a few years ago for Christmas, didn't think much of it at the time, but I do admit I love the thing now and use most of it's functions without even thinking about it on a daily basis, really neat options with many of the same features you showed on those Pro Trek devices.
Thanks Nutnfancy, now I'm all of a sudden addicted to watched, flashlights, and knives after several years of watching your firearms videos and not caring about your other review topics. I don't make enough extra money to collect them extensively, but I will buy a few high quality ones. I love quality "buy it once" products, especially since I got into my 30s (36 now). Man I wish I would have started this stuff when I was younger, I would have had a lot more fun.
I have the Casio Protrek Ana-Digi Triple Sensor PRG-510-1D and I love it. It's very similar in looks to the 650 you show towards the end. Of all my watches, including a Seiko Monster, I wear it more than any of my Citizen watches, but it does have to share time with my other Casio, a G-Shock.
ES I gave my Orange Monster to a family member. I regret it. I will replace it someday. I have the Grand Seiko Diver and the MarineMaster next on my list.
I pretty much only really dig dress watches. Analog stuff, things you could wear a suit with and not look like a dork. I loved the analog field watch review you did between the citizen and the Seiko
I love your reviews and I have also spent a lot of money based on your reviews. You treat watches the way I treat watches.... I wear them and use them in the water swimming and paddle-boarding or working around the house, basically whatever I am doing, I don't want to have to worry about my watch getting damaged or scratches... My only problem is that I have way more watches than wrists!! Keep up the reviews...
I just discovered that you also review watches, and that's so cool because i also like this kind of watches (Just nice watches not stupid luxury super expensive ones) i just bought a Wenger watch based on your opinion and couldn't be happier. Thank you Nutnfancy, keep up the good work! Greetings from Costa Rica.
I like this series of videos. I am an EMT and need a watch. I can't pull out my phone with blood on my gloves to look at the time for med admin. Any possibility of doing a video on the best watch for a medic?
Three Casio watches in the family. Good old but trusty 591 G-Shocks, Protrek PRW-3000 (thanks, Nutn!) and my son got G-Shock Tough Solar for his 9th bday. All of the three seem to be capable to serve my grandchildren ;)
You should check out the PRW7000 series. From what I can see, it's a more refined version of the 6000. I like the looks better on the 7000, and the neon illumination is the coolest illumination I've ever seen. Also, the compass is more accurate and the reading doesn't change if the watch is rotated on a different axis. There are more refinements that I don't remember off hand, but it's sweet and looks nice too.
Could you do a comparison of your fav top 5 casios in one vid? I think it would be cool to compare the pro trek, gulfmaster, mudmaster, gravitymaster and...maybe a comparable Suunto watch.
Yea I'm just started looking into watches but this one hits so many check marks on my list and the cool factor is off the charts. It looks amazing to me, the functionality is just badass, and the Japanese exclusivity just adds more cool factor. Not to mention the solar panel and auto atomic clock sync. Dang it Nutnfancy, you're gonna make me spend more money!! lol Thanks for the great video!
Oh I didn't know about that one but just looked it up and yea its definitely cool too! I'll have to look more into them too, thanks for the suggestion.
Nutn, Really. A powder blue watch band. You show us the coolest guns, knives and watches. You flew jets for the US Air Force you are a survivalist, a biker and a lover of high performance cars. All traits I greatly admire in a bro. A blue watch band. Ok just kidding.

I've owned a Casio PRG-270B for some years now and it's always around my wrist. Casio does it right.
Absolutely my favorite sub $1000 watch. It's in my regular rotation along with Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch, Omega Seamaster 300M (1996 Bond Watch) and Omega Seamaster Professional Planet Ocean. This watch is a bargain at $500
All these watch haters. I'd love to see their iphones work in the woods. I watched your vids to help with watch purchases recently. Didn't get anything you've shown but none-the-less your vids were helpful. Ended up with two G-Shocks. GG-1000-a1 and GST-S110-1a. Keep up the great work!
I have a Tissot that I bought 15+ years ago from a guy a worked with, it's a self winder. He bought a $10000.00 Rolex. My Tissot was in the 6 to 700.00 range New, I paid him 150.00 for it. It has a scratch proof crystal and it will lose about 5 minutes every couple of months. If I would buy a watch winder for it, it would not loose any time. However I'm too cheep and those watch winders are very pricy!! It also has a crystal on the back so you can see the workings inside. It's also waterproof. Nice analog watch with a date feature.
I just started collecting watches, I recently picked up the blue prg600. I’d love to get some seikos, citizen, omega and a few others. But I think the pro trek will always be my daily driver. I had an Apple Watch that just didn’t do it for me. I really prefer round analog watches, which don’t usually have a lot of the features I use(I use the count down timer for cooking and other things). The 5 alarms are another feature I use a lot. This Watch has just enough of the features I need. I’d love to get the prw6600 some day though because the RC feature would be great! Great review!
Just broke my original carbon fiber reinforced band after years of hard use. I saw it rec'd here and snagged one for a great price, it's a great watch! Can't for the life of me find ANYTHING about band replacement!
@@traviswalker8933 For sure spendy! I didn't realize there could be adapters, I'll look for that. Poor watch sitting on the shelf for years while the 14 dollar Casio gets all the wear. Thanks for the reply.
my personal pick is QnQ those have same Miyota type mechanisms inside as both CASIO and CITIZEN and because of less outside design features it costs less. so if you want something more expensive you could pick any of those while if you like me and like best bang for your buck its nice to have sold watch for 60 bucks. (I worked in place where we sold watches)
I think these watch TTR's are cool and I hope you continue reviewing "tool" watches and watches favored by military operators. I have to admit - even though I am a big fan of Casio G-Shocks, I hadn't heard of this watch before this review. Thanks
I know you not as in to smart watch, but it would be great if you would review Casio's Protrek WSD-F20, due to be released late April. It's the only smart watch that's really caught my eye.
Nutnfancy you should do a review on Tissot T Touch Watches. Specifically the Expert Solar Titanium version. I own one very cool, very functional, classy look! However they are expensive, but hey they are Swiss😉
Mangold Art, they are both awesome watches, the only thing you don’t get with the PRG-600Y and PRG-650Y is the atomic signal but truthfully you don’t need it. My PRG-650Y is my go-to watch and averages about +1 seconds per week. If you really want an atomic watch with the ABC functions then yes, spend the extra hundred dollars or so for the atomic sync function. I chose to save some money and not get the PRW 6000 since at many deployed locations I wouldn’t be in range anyway to receive the signal so why waste the money, at least that’s my reasoning.
Hello NTF. I look at this watch and all I can think of is the Peter Gabriel song, Big Time.!!! Its a Big watch. Keep giving us those great reviews. Whats your thoughts on Rolex?TY
I see and respect others point of view but disagree with some posts completely. Alot of comments sound like lack of experience with a Protrek. I don't know if thats just closed mindedness, affordability issues (no judgement on that one) or that you never have cause to need a watch like it. Some call it a cheap watch. I don't know if thats referring to quality or price but regardless neither would be truth. Quality wise these are top notch. Everyone that knows, knows. Price wise, the watch he's showing costs about the same as a Hamilton khaki king (for those of you that love mechanicals). The Protrek series will take more abuse, go more places, and has a more well rounded functionality set than any mechanical watch. I own 5 mechanicals, which I love, but horses for courses dudes. If SHTF and I have to grab one watch.. My Protrek all day without a thought. Reviews about products that offer that level of purpose, reliability and value for us... Isn't that what TNP is all about? If he was reviewing Rolexs I could see that as way off base/topic... Knives are ok but watches aren't? Neither one of those are guns.... There's nowhere the watch he's showing won't go (while riding on that empty spot on your wrist) that your knife will. We all worry about the functionality, reliability, capacity, durability, weight, etc with our weapons..... same exact principal here dudes and ladies.
Nutn. could you please do a review on the Garmin D2 Bravo? would love to know if it's worth the money in your eyes.. as an aviation specific watch and it's utility in non aviation endeavors as well
hey nutn do you fish while your backpacking? If so what type of rod do you bring? Do you think collapsible rods are worth it? (ie: kastking on amazon) I trust your opinion!
MVT is really great ! I currently wear a really cheap Casio Tough Solar for about 4 years now, and basic as it is (not comparable to these beauties of course), it's the best watch I've ever owned (no hassles, no scratches, no batteries, no losing time, no nothing !). I just need a reason to upgrade to one of these, especially if I can get my hands on one of the Japan models (I'm working in China at this time, so may have a shot at it somewhere here). Does any of these watches have a rotating bezel ?
I've never been into watches much. Cheap, simple, and small footprint inclined. I may have to boycott future watch reviews to avoid being tempted toward the dark side. That red Casio is surprisingly appealing despite my prior, and countering, pou of watches.
Aren't the PRW 6000/6100 and PRG 600/650 functionally the same? Or am I missing something? Physically, I definitely like the PRW 6000/6100 much better.
I like the time piece. It is a great looking masculine watch. I was disappointed with the triple sensor accuracy. I can understand the temperature sensor reading high since the watch is picking up your body heat when it is fastened to your wrist. I expected more from the Barometer and Altitude sensors. They both provide a reading, but it isn't accurate at all even if you correct the reading. These two sensors are a complete fail. I'm glad I didn't spend $450 to $800 on mine.
The baro and temp readings combined will affect the altitude readings and body heat is a factor, but still it is less than 300 dollars for an imported watch with proprietary features no mechanical watch has in its DNA or ever will. It has incredible complications 10,000 dollar watchmakers can only imagine. BTW those 10K watches have to be wound, sometimes every day. I adjust the altitude and temp at the start of any trek. No big deal. It's just a part of becoming attuned to it in keeping with best practices. Wouldn't trade it for an AP or a Rolex. There is no perfect watch but for a man's watch this comes pretty darned close.
For all you that keep bitchin about the watch video...... don't watch it lol. TNP is all about different kinds of gear!!!!!That's what makes this channel awesome! Besides who want to keep seeing the same thing over and over? Keep up the great work nutnfancy awesome review!!
That blue one on the right is alright, but the face and outer dial is a bit busy for me. Why are so many feature-packed watches so cluttered and busy-faced? Give me a simple, clean, and still attractive watch!
The jdm casios are some of the if not the best watches in the world, some of them feature full titanium bodies, sapphire lenses, and the best modules casio has to offer the world, but they are expensive! Compare them to full stainless cased suunto watches.
I just want to add my 2 cents... nutn you encouraged me to buy a g100 g shock watch which I love, and haven't been a watch guy ever in my life, so thanks for that but I am over the watch reviews myself. There's only so much you can do and say about a very simple piece of gear. It's all pretty much the same to me.
OK thanks for the input. Glad you like that G100. But if I'd never done that watch review you'd never know about it. Most subs are MIA for all the vids anyhow so it's pretty much the same in content. -nutnfancy
Well, I do appreciate the work put into the watch reviews, and different items I might be interested in. I suppose what I said could be said about any piece of gear, I guess just for me, I'm over the watches, they don't turn me on like guns, knives, camping/backpacking gear, so on and so forth. I hope TNP lives for at least few more years!
got the green prw6000 from my wife for my birthday last year. best watch ive ever had. good review. I wear it every day.

Yes! another watch review. Thanks Nutn
Great watch, I have the PRW-6000 module 5365 and love it. I just wish the alarm was a little louder.
BuckeyeBryan agree the alarm sound is puny and short. That's one of my gripes about this watch. Other than that, it's incredible

is it me or was this already posted...?
Nope it's not just you lol.
i think it was but that video was taken down or something. I remember when he released this video and the next day it was gone.
Yeah, it was posted just before the KTM 1190 review ... and was up for barely a day ...
Yeah man, I could have swore this posted about a week or 2 ago.

Casio is the only watch I have not busted. Just picked up the GWG Mudmaster. It's an F-350 with mud terrain tires strapped to your wrist.
Yep, just bought a PRW6100 from this WRV, stoked to get it!!
These are cool. A step or staircase above the Protrek, which is among my favorites. I'd like one of these a lot.
I'm about to pick up a Gshock Rangeman because of these videos. thanks again
You will like that Rangeman....real cool watch. -nutnfancy

I just discovered that you also review watches, and that's so cool because i also like this kind of watches (Just nice watches not stupid luxury super expensive ones) i just bought a Wenger watch based on your opinion and couldn't be happier. There's an old song, "One's Too Many and a Hundreds Not Enough". I think it was about Casio watches.
Tom Hall That quote is about smoking crack.
GREAT ! After I thought I was finally leveling out. Now I have to go to a watch halfway house !
I like this series of videos. I am an EMT and need a watch. I can't pull out my phone with blood on my gloves to look at the time for med admin. Any possibility of doing a video on the best watch for a medic?
Is this the re-post? I watched the original :)
Nutn, thanks for all the great vids. Can't wait for the owl patches to come back in the store, I need some!
Just got a PRW 6000 and 6900Y on eBay for $157.50 and $167.50 respectively. Awesome watches.
I love it, and needed one! $445 + $19 shipping latter and my wife is not so sure about liking you anymore Nut'n! Ha!

Very tempting G-Shock watch!
what are your thoughts on suunto?
I've never been into watches much. Cheap, simple, and small footprint inclined. I may have to boycott future watch reviews to avoid being tempted toward the dark side. That red Casio is surprisingly appealing despite my prior, and countering, pou of watches.
david elkins It's only $67
I think maybe he re-upped in order to try out the new poll feature.
The barometer feature is accurate to 1 meter.
Altitude I think you meant to say and it can be changed to feet. Inches of mercury in barometric pressure.
Aren't the PRW 6000/6100 and PRG 600/650 functionally the same? Or am I missing something? Physically, I definitely like the PRW 6000/6100 much better.
They are the same. The PRG just misses out on the MB6 receiver.
Almost at 700,000 subs!
These protrek series are the coolest, but too expensive for me to afford one, and would you in the future do a review of pro trek smart watch
2.6 oz = 74 grams ... units for the rest of us ...
Keep it up...... the watch reviews are sweet and should be apart of our edc Gear! Thanks nutn
What a great review. You are the best on the internet thus far. I enjoyed it immensely. Good work.
Is this the report of the deleted "This Watch Will Blow People's Minds: Casio PRW 6000 Series" ?
Where did the KRVs go?
Great review!
Hey TNP, any chance of you reviewing a Casio Protrek PRG550-1A4?
Love the Safari model - but that price eeks into other budgets. Will stick with my TNP approved G Shock watches.
Why you delete, change the video title and repost?
For all you that keep bitchin about the watch video...... don't watch it lol. TNP is all about different kinds of gear!!!!!That's what makes this channel awesome! Besides who want to keep seeing the same thing over and over? Keep up the great work nutnfancy awesome review!!
That blue one on the right is alright, but the face and outer dial is a bit busy for me. Why are so many feature-packed watches so cluttered and busy-faced? Give me a simple, clean, and still attractive watch!
Dang it Nutn. I could buy a case of ammo for that, but I really want one!
To the 11s!
Hehe
This is the manix 2 lightweight of the watch world?
The jdm casios are some of the if not the best watches in the world, some of them feature full titanium bodies, sapphire lenses, and the best modules casio has to offer the world, but they are expensive! Compare them to full stainless cased suunto watches.
Nutnfancy will be granted honorary Japanese citizenship for this video.
