Interesting that people are not liking the ZP6. It has ruined all other hand grinders for me. The ZP6 produces a very clean, delineated, and fruity cup, IMO.

zero point is touching blades, what do u mean it has different zero points?? "different burrs has different wear" but its the same burr, its like his implying there's no consistency in production line of comandante. I believe hes wrong..also about the zp6, too bad he didn't elaborate what he didn't like about it so much, I mean all Lance said that it was super clear, filter forward and not for espresso. that doesn't necessarily means you suppose to love it.

I believe clicks are clicks on the Commandante and yours should match up to mine.

I did not understand that either. It is likely that different C40s will have tighter 0 points since it is discrete nut turns, but starting from the touch points on different C40s and then going X clicks should be less than 1 click difference, and likely much less, which would not be a material difference for pour-over.

I think c40 has a margin of error at around 2-3 clicks, which sounds about right when he said "your 15 clicks could be 18 on mine"

Mm. I just brewed a washed Catuai medium roast from Tarrazu, Costa Rica with my ZP6 set to 4.5 grind size. It has a rich mouth feel, strong body, and lemon-like acidity. The ZP6 grinds coffee that tastes very smooth and balanced. It's a lot like Cometeer Coffee's proprietary extraction process, which tends to make their coffees balanced and mild. I think of it like a headphone with a neutral sound signature. There aren't any specific frequencies sticking out or out of balance. Perhaps Jay doesn't enjoy this kind of flavor profile. I wouldn't describe it like cold brew at all. I'm getting plenty of acidity. Perhaps his ZP6 is defective. I'll be doing some comparisons throughout the week with my Timemore C3 to see what makes the ZP6 tick.

Personally, i find zp6 to be somewhat muted. From my experience i have found that zp6 can produce really really clean cups, but in a different way. It is not flavor clean, it is just super balanced, sweet acidic and all those kinds of good stuff, but not flavor clean. I experimented with it and it is really impressive that this grinder can produce such intense and balanced cups in a very fine setting , giving you the ability to push the extractions so much that all the other grinders that i have tried would just produce a bitter undrinkable cup. But in general, flavor wise the wilfa uniform that i am comparing it with has absolutely nominated it. I have only tried 2-3 different coffees but at least one of them was a super clean super juicy costa rica which the wilfa blowed my mind over, and the zp6 managed to mute it. Again, sweet balanced nice mouthfeel but flavorwise muted.

I tried Both K-Plus, ZP6 Special, and Baratza Encore as well and I preferred ZP6 Special over all of them, Higher Clarity and separation of Flavor Notes. Cleaner Cup, and more fruitiness. I noticed less fines and more uniformity of grinds for ZP6 Special compared to K-Plus.

It's amazing, I've been worried about it for a long time and it was strange that no one was talking about it. The dude is absolutely right, in my opinion

I bought the comandante Mk3 open box but new for $240. You can save $100 from the Mk4.

Hi Hoons, At home, I use NEO flair espresso with bottomless portafilter classic. Can 1zpresso jx pro be relied on for good espresso results? Can you recommend a good but not too expensive manual grinder for espresso shots. Thanks

Facts are that the c40 still makes tasty at coffee regardless of the lack of “innovation”

@@HoonsCoffee i can only compare it with feld47. Experience is better both tactile feel and coffee taste (burr is same with c40 so you have idea). I admire The QTP material, its a daring move from comandante knowing that there is a negative impression with plastic material. I love the level of confidence on their part to put it up against stainless steel and aluminum. And the girth of the body helps in better user experience. Im even thinking it should be more expensive than c40.

1zpresso doesn’t have a true zero point either !!!!! Even less so than c40 in fact !!!
