I just purchased and installed the Rifle Speed gas block on my DPMS Oracle .308 upper. The only problem I has was the blow back tube out of the RifleSpeed was not at the elevation as the entry into the upper. Like shown in the video. Maybe .125 difference. Also, the tube coming out of the Rifle Speed made it so I had to modify, clear material on the hand guard retaining ring to clear the tube. With these two issues, the gas block did install, snugly. I did have to "help" the gas block in to position, but it did go on and the gas tube has a slope from the gas block to the upper. The rear set screw did line up with the original dimple on the barrel, the forward one did not. Not a big deal because of the overall fitment. No range report at this time.
Did you use the RS straight tube or a standard gas tube?
I used the RS gas tube. Overall, I'm happy, but RS doesn't acknowledge this. I eve did a review on their website of my experience since that is where I bought it from. I didn't slam them or anything, just what I posted here and they didn't let the review go through. That tells me a lot about a company.@@illestdomer2005

I love the idea of the system not requiring an allen key I was curious is the cage of the material used to rotate strong enough I could reach in through an mlok handguard and use like a wooden dowel or stick to adjust the gas system my handguard is way longer than my gas system because I run a suppressor under it
It’s Nitride QPQ finished 4140 steel so yes, definitely strong enough 👍🏻

You're planning to release a .626 journal size version soon, correct? I bought a Faxon pencil 16" middy for its light weight, but they are so hopelessly overgassed with U.S. made ammo. Also, how does the weight compare to a Superlative Arms agb?

Stupid question, but can you use an odd shaped crosspin with a barrel that’s not been drilled for pinning? Meaning, no notch in the barrel but there’s still a semi-circle gap where an odd shaped pin could technically fit through.
I’m trying to build a 300 BLK pistol. 9 inch barrel with an 8.5 inch hand guard. Will any of your gas blocks be compatible with this setup?

I have a Savage MSR 15 Recon, it already has a straight gas tube, do i need to buy a gas tube from you or can i leave it in?

Why wouldn’t you sell a jig for drilling the cross pin? It makes no sense.
Take it this works only on DI guns. Not seeing how it would work on my LWRC M6A2 piston
Just for the cheap seats....what does this do?
It makes running a suppressor enjoyable and less carcinogenic: it allows you to reduce how much gas your DI pistol/rifle sends to the gas key on your BCG, allowing you to tune for your specific ammo and achieve optimal function without overgassing.
I try to figure it, out B-16, H-15, GT-10 1/2 Mid-length. the chart does not have my number to purchase. (I Get all [ red ] no green )
H, you’ll need a handguard 14” or less with a 16” midlength. Your 15” handguard would cover the entire Gas Control, preventing easy access. If you don’t mind having the Control Knob under your handguard (it’s doable, but adjustments aren’t as easy) then the RS7558 is your solution. Better yet, here’s a good excuse to build a new rifle! Will that cross pin hole line up with the holes left in my barrel from a fixed FSB
Fixed FSB use tapered pins. Gas Controls use straight coiled spring pins. We do have a Barrel Pinning page at riflespeed.com where you can have this done for a very reasonable price. Thanks for your interest in Riflespeed.
Pretty dumb that the roll pin for duty use is not gi spec, why deviate from industry standard?
Because there is no “industry standard”
What if your barrel thread shoulder is flush with the end of the handguard?
You’ll need a shorter handguard or longer barrel in order to have the Control Knob exposed. If you don’t mind having the Control Knob buried under the handguard you’re fine. It will be harder to adjust, but can be done.
@@riflespeed Would be cool if the adapter cage could also be made with larger diameters that can go around a suppressor or around the diameter of the brake for flush mounted applications.
I have an RMCS-4 system and would like to put something like this on it, BUT the gas block is also the front sight mount for each barrel that has a gas system. Will you be manufacturing a gas block with the picatiny rail on the top side for carbine length barrels in the future?
It’s always possible, but at the moment we don’t have plans for this.
Would the dimple screws line up with a centurion barrel?? And please make a tabbed version to index with their tabbed barrels.....

The only advantage I can see having this on ANY AR rifle, is if you were 100% going to run a suppressor... But if you are not going to run a suppressor, then you have no reason to be adjusting the gas system and then this has no real use and would add extra weight for no reason...
I could see a use case for 300, subs and supers. Suppressed and unsuppressed

If you enjoy an efficient, low recoiling rifle that runs like a sewing machine- then it is worth the money. You can have your brass land in a predictable little pile beside you with no hard extraction or bolt slamming. Adjustable gas and a good compensator will have your AR recoiling like a bb gun if you've never used one- it is very nice. No recoil doesn't seem like a big deal- but it is very nice.
Will this work with the cry havoc barrel detach system
We’ve not tested that system, but if the barrel takes a 0.750” diameter gas block and uses one of the standard gas system lengths there shouldn’t be a problem. Check the Fitment tab on the Gas Control page to see dimensions. You’ll also want to compare that to the inside of your handguard. Thanks
