    I wish you made the A2 front sight in an adjustable gas block that was NOT clamp on...but was set screw with the option to use pins/taper pin set up.

    Like Jeff Lebowski's rug which tied the whole room together, an AR15's gas block ties everything together 0:30

    Adjusting the JPGS-9D on a LR 308, 20" barrel , 0.096" gas vent. Correct ejection angle of 3 o clock @ 18 clicks out. 25 is max..
    Beyond that there was no difference in felt recoil or function. Hard recoil and bolt strike on upper has been a problem.
    I was expecting some felt recoil reduction but didn't perceive any. Scope is worth effort to reduce as much recoil as possible..
    Would like to hear others experiences with this gas block. Great product, great company.

      Sounds like you need a heavier buffer in the back end as well. You are running that block almost wide open, I assume you are shooting unsuppressed

      It’s 308; so, it’s going to be spicy regardless. Use the least amount of gas necessary to cycle reliably. Play with the buffer weight and spring strength as secondary and tertiary adjustments.

      I just shoot a single rounds with my rifle... with each round loaded 1 @ time in my magazine. Adjust it after you shoot each time...
      Until you have just enough gas to cycle it fully & where it will reliably leave the bolt locked back & open after each round you single load in your magazine before test firing the weapon.

    I just bought an 11.5" BCM Enhanced Lightweight Fluted barrel. Is there a specific gas block that I need for it? I hear numbers like .675 or .70... what does this mean? Also, aside from price difference, is there any real downside to going adjustable vs basic? It seems like a no-brainer but I feel like I'm missing something. Also want to run it suppressed at some point.
    Any reliability issues? Should I focus on the buffer instead and will it give me equal results?
    First AR build. Thanks, I subscribed!

    • @JPRifles
      @JPRifles  4 роки тому +3

      We love adjustable gas blocks and think that they are the must have upgrade for any AR platform. However, you could get away with a non adjustable gas block if you would like. The .675 numbers, are the contour diameter of the barrel were the gas block goes. Once you have that number you will look for a gas block that has the same measurement.

    So I’m very interested in installing the A frame FSP block (JPGS-2FS) on a rifle that currently has a standard A frame. Will the existing cuts in the barrel that accommodate the pins effect the install of this new FSP? What do I need to know before I install?

    • @JPRifles
      @JPRifles  2 роки тому +1

      Since the JPGS-2FS does not utilize those pin holes, they should not cause any issue with installation.

    I have a question. I have a Hbar 16" carbine gas barrel. It seems a bit over gassed, ejecting 556 cases at 1:00 to 2:00, so I added a H buffer, still pretty much the same. Then moved up to H3, cases landing at 3:00. I would like the case to eject at 4:00, I was planning on going with adjustable gas block. Since I have the H3 buffer in the rifle, should I keep it with the Adjustable gas block or go to a carbine buffer? What are the pros and cons of leaving the heavier buffer on the rifle with an adjustable gas block? Thanks for the video and the info.

    • @zekethefishgeek8690
      @zekethefishgeek8690 4 роки тому

      me too... I think I have a way to adjust at either end & my thoughts are...
      so, H3 buffer weight equals
      -more overall rifle weight
      - more felt recoil

    • @derek3154
      @derek3154 3 роки тому

      Try the Geissele spring/buffer or stick with an H2 and a adjustable gas block.
      I’ve also put a folding stock and when doing so there is a spacer weight that fits in your BCG…just adding that will slow/smooth out that recoil.

    So, i bought a JPGS-8, thinking that it only required clamping (i don’t have a precise way to dimple the barrel, nor do i want to drill on it), but i see in the instructions that it apparently requires the set screws! What is the recommended method to accomplish it? It’s annoying, to say the least!

    I love companies that post videos like this but don't post videos of their installation......NOT. Looking at JPGS-2FS but since you guys don't have a video of the install, I am not buying it. Not a big fan of your gas block alignment technique. Recommendation.....move the rear clamp forward a bit and add some material on the underside for a set screw to line up. Still clamps....you can pin it....clamp it....and set screw it. But you guys do you....I guess.
