I find it funny when Deadlock is mentioned because it hasn't been officially announced by Valve, even though they have had the alpha testing (and its leaks). I wish they all got off their asses to demand something concrete instead: that Valve revert quickplay back to how it used to be. MYM removed the flow of players from quickplay into community servers and destroyed the amount and variety of those servers that relied on quickplay players to populate them, and created this breeding ground for bots with its shitty matchmaking systems incentivizing players to empty and repopulate servers at the end of each map, allowing groups of bots to fill up the players slots and do their damage. Instead of servers staying populated with human players trickling in and out naturally through the day like any other good community server. God I hate modern game design. Actively getting in the way of people just wanting to fucking play the game and have fun.
I was putting out an idea of making a paper mail campaign. The thing we do with petition is ok put imagine if every name on that petition had been a letter sized paper- and because of post offices work, they would have arrived in different times. They could not have just dumped everything in the trash in one go the letters would have kept coming for a week or so; zoom months later and the letters from europe had come to pester them. It would have made presedence for Valve to be afraid of us.They could not have turned it into a positive pr-stunt, there would have not been a spokesperson to shake hands with and smile to camera only piles and piles of bad customer reviews.

The What made an incredible point on why valve hasn't shut down tf2 despite their lack of care for the money it brings in and that's the fact they basically can't. The inventories of tf2 players have real world value due to the micro economy they made and rendering that worthless would, at best, create community outrage and distrust with valve from players in CS2 with their micro economy when they realize "oh shit, valve can just delete these items I spent real world money on, I need to get out of here FAST" and at worst bring valve full on legal hell. It's this obligation to maintain the value of player inventories that causes them to do what little they do for the game at all and it's a reason completely separate from the money tf2 actually generates for valve.

Is competitive even active anymore? When MYM dropped you couldn't even find a game when everyone was rank 1, so I NEVER got to play a full game of competitive. I go back to CS:GO/CS2 intermittently and I'm shocked at how little content we get. People want operations, they'll happily drop the cash for the Op pass. Valve can't even make regular events that change up the game ostensibly with new maps, but is really a revenue generator. The cheating is still a problem to varying degrees. I don't think VAC Live is a real thing at all.

For me, the biggest issue with the movement is that "flash in the pan" you describe. Why did #FixTF2 have to start on the 3rd when it could be any day? We cant just have a single battle here, it needs to be a constant siege. Also man, as a fan of the Halo franchise its oddly comforting to hear TF2 suffered a similar issue of trying to force it to be competitive instead of just letting that naturally branch out. Comp players can stay in their bubble and play how they want, dont force it onto the game at large, because thats very very harmful.
I agree on the part where this whole FixTF2 movement will last a week and either nobody will care, people forget about it or it'll work and people will move on from the movement. Valve needs to respond and get their asses in gear to updating their VAC and keep updating it after this movement. After all, if TF2 is not doing well, and CSGO is also now experiencing this bot and cheater crisis, then Deadlock might as well be dead in the water that will be heavily prone to cheating and botting software. TF2 is like the canary in the coal mine, its a warning of the danger. Valve has unironically become like Wheatley from Portal 2 by ignoring a problem and letting that same problem keep getting worse.

A small fraction of that number are game devs and they can pursue whatever project they like. Depending on the success of the project pa increases or decreases. Since tf2 is such a nightmare to code anything for it basically is never worth working in since the return of invest is 0. Tf2 will not break playercounts unless its fixed and remade from the ground up and the commitment just just isn't there since it would mean low pay for many months/years and even then its unknown if that will ever continue to be profitable.

But I also hate multiplayer games in general, and Valve is known for being incapable of handling cheaters. So the game's gonna flop probably.

The only way to fix bots and cheating in tf2 is eternal vigilance. People can get DMA type of cheat that will cost them as much as Raspberry Pi component and that cheat itself (this work against kernel anti cheat btw, super effective) . People already pay 30$ subscription for cheating. Valorant is not cheat free like they love to act. Or you know, Valve could give us Quick Play and fix majority of the problem is also making tf2 far more fun. AND getting Quickplay is much easier imo. #BringBackQuickPlay
idk, I play Valo and I have seen like 3 cheaters in like 1.8k hours, reported once and they got banned in no time, if there's been cheaters then they are seriously closeted and extremely good at hiding it, which at that point they are just indistinguishable from good players anyways, hence not really hindering the experience, unlike the blatant cheaters we have in TF2, plus, I actually kind of doubt that there are many people who would be interested on getting hardware level cheats, like yeah, there probably are some but I wouldn't think they are close to be enough to make a case for Valo to be fake news when it comes to being cheater-free
more so than that, Valo is a game that was born fundamentally for competitive play, and that's fine, it suits itself, TF2 is not competitive anyways, so I agree on bringing back quick play or revamping matchmaking to be similar in essence to how it was, rather than the mess it is now

The reason he doesn't have Asian community servers is because; each time he himself is not playing on the server, the server rarely gets filled .

bots don't buy items, they farm drops on private servers and sell them
Bots farm items, those items are melted into refined which are sold to traders directly(real cash) so Traders can use them to profit

idk, I play Valo and I have seen like 3 cheaters in like 1.8k hours, reported once and they got banned in no time, if there's been cheaters then they are seriously closeted and extremely good at hiding it, which at that point they are just indistinguishable from good players anyways, hence not really hindering the experience, unlike the blatant cheaters we have in TF2, plus, I actually kind of doubt that there are many people who would be interested on getting hardware level cheats, like yeah, there probably are some but I wouldn't think they are close to be enough to make a case for Valo to be fake news when it comes to being cheater-free
more so than that, Valo is a game that was born fundamentally for competitive play, and that's fine, it suits itself, TF2 is not competitive anyways, so I agree on bringing back quick play or revamping matchmaking to be similar in essence to how it was, rather than the mess it is now

Voting with our wallets is effective, it's just difficult with valve since it hold the Monopoly on gamestores. (Yes it's a Monopoly basically, all other stores suck major balls majorly and I refuse to use nor respect anyone who prefers them over steam)
