Yandere simulator is like a fan fiction with an interesting plot idea but the writer’s grammar could put an English teacher into cardiac arrest and the “authors notes” at the end of each chapter is just the author complaining about the constant grammar comments or criticism in general. Even though most of the time they’re just trying to help. Then, after releasing one 5 paragraphed chapter every 3 months, discontinue the fan fic. So basically, yandere sim is the “my immortal” of popular indie games.

I recently saw a video from a programmer that debunked the whole "games runs slow because of bad code" argument. The guy rewrote sections of game properly and showed that the execution time of that parts of the code has basically not changed The code is bad for a variety of reasons but all of them are related to maintenance and implementing changes, not performance. He even estimated that re-writing the whole code would give at best a few fps more. The real reason why Yandere simulator runs like shit are the assets, which are very unoptimized, since they were done by volunteers and/or stolen from the web, they are either done incorrectly or have waaaaaaaaaaaay too many polygons than is needed. The first example that comes to mind is the toothbrush model which was most likely stolen from some animation, it had more polygons than the whole yandere-chan model.
The other problem is that now the game has to load in around 100 character models that all have script running, so basically the only way to make it work is to just make them not function outside of viewing range
If he was taking them from random places they were probably made as art and not to run in games which would explain the hight polygon count. Also they might not have different LODs

It's funny cuz "Yandere-chan" isn't even acting like an actual Yandere.... she's just an emotionless stalker who kills without discrimination (lmao is she trying to be Agent 47 or something?). Yanderes are usually full of personality, popularly known to act like a lover to the point where it's downright creepy --- other times manipulating their love interest into reciprocating their feelings (training-type, as it's called). There are also types where they commit self-harm to threaten their interest to pay attention to them. The point is: they INTERACT with their love interest, which is why they display signs of unhealthy obsession. The girl in "Yandere" Simulator, whatever she was called, feels more like a GTA character slapped in a romcom animu school setting than anything else (heck, even GTA main characters are brimming with personality). She doesn't fit into any Yandere types. imo.
Her name is Ayano, and I agree. She’s literally the most bland video protagonist/yandere that I’ve ever seen. At least let her get near her crush without getting immediately heartbroken.
He literally said that he didn't want anyone to disagree with the protagonist so he made a bland character, she didn't even have a name back then So basically he didn't want to receive criticism so he created a character with no personality whatsoever
Honestly she's made neutral so the player can give her personality. Nothing wrong with that or any of dev's choices, people just think they're obligated to demand a game to be finished to their standards and time
3 reasons why it will never be finished. 1 Yandev is too incompetent 2 Idiots keep giving him money on patreon, so there's every reason to milk it 3 If it takes 6+ years to add one of 10 rivals, odds are yandev, and likely most of us , will die of old age before it's completed. Yandev may have started out with every intention of completing Yandere simulator, but somewhere along the line he succumbed to greed.

The BEST part of the Yandev journey is that now deleted video in which he asks the viewers if they want the game in 2021 or 2026. Oh, such wonderful irony.
Honestly I pity him. He would have been fine if he didn't attract attention because he clearly couldn't handle it. And the harassment can't be excused. He was a pretty bad developer working on a little meme project for a niche audience that happened to blow up, and it got way too much to his head to the point he was believing himself he was making a GOTY and needing more and more features
This. It was his passion project, and he didn't know how to code. I'm not sure about all the extra drama, but as far as people complaining about it not coming out yet 🤷♀ He's never felt it was in a "ready" state to do a kickstarter, so I'm not sure what they're expecting from a non-coder with limited funds.
@@Kreepie11 Did you watch the video? He had YEARS I mean YEARS to learn how to code, he didn't have to be "super good" at it in the beginning, but by now, being what 8 years? 7? Postponed updates, said that they needed to go over code, and actually learned how to code properly during that time (Or at least attempted to.) He also doesn't have limited funds. (Might be more limited now, but definently wasn't back then.) He's still making thousands. He also didn't have to expand the game so much, he could have kept in simple, as was the original plan. People expect a GAME DEVELOPER to be able to develop a game! If you can't code, then don't. Or at least put in the effort to learn how to! Sorry if this came off super harsh or anything, this isn't meant as a personal attack, only to state that this definently isn't someone who's just cracking under pressure.
@@Enya_artist It came off a little shouty, but I got past it. I understand your criticisms. And I'm not saying that this couldn't have been done by someone else, or in a perfect world would have not been done differently. It seems like Dev is sensitive to rejection, prone to perfectionism, and generally anxious. I don't know him, and could be incorrect. However, because of that view, I've always just "hoped for the best" and hoped he'd have it figured out one day, and would finally be able to release his project. I hope this made sense to you. :)
@@Kreepie11 "He's never felt it was in a "ready" state to do a kickstarter, so I'm not sure what they're expecting from a non-coder with limited funds." It's cute how you try to defend his incompetence when he was already given an opportunity from Tiny Build for the programming stuffs.
The problem of Yandev is that his ego is way toooo high. After the game became popular in 2015ish, yandev’s ego skyrocketed. With this reputation he made, he makes excuses that the game was gonna take too long because it was made by “one man” aka himself. There are volunteers that are nice enough to lend a hand to him without getting paid, but yandev being a jerk, wants to get a reason that he is just a poor poor developer. Tinybuild lend a him a hand, yet Yandev fired them because yandev cannot understand the advanced coding of Tinybuild. If yandev swallow his pride and let Tinybuild teach him how to do the advanced coding, then Yandere Simulator will be finish under 6 years. Edit: some of the replies mentioned other developers that work on the game alone like Scott Cawthon. What I am trying to say is that Alex uses the pathetic “i Am jUsT a LoNely gAme Dev” card to gain sympathy so people would stop complaining about his game. I do not underestimate game developers like Scott, I actually have a lot of respect for them for being determined to create such a wonderful game alone.
Or maybe if he doesn't want to learn from someone who works with coding (I don't see why anyone would not want that but anyways) he should try a programming course, he could even find a good course online if he wished to, and then start working on the game.

Well thats actually a huge problem, because he ended the partner with tiny build for a good reason tiny build arent the good guys in this story Just that alone tells me that the creator didnt make his homework and is just parroting misinformation, probably not on bad faith but he should have make his research
The feature creep probably affected the developtment, and is probably a consequence of making the development process in public, with constant updates, managing a discord, and using the feedback on the game to grow the game more than he could handle. Another game that had a crowfunding campaign around the same time, and is still unfinished is Soul Saga, I think, both these developers had good intentions when they started but the scope of their ideas surpass their abilities.

i dont think he even bans people directly. between all the mods in his server and the fact he has bots that are programmed to ban people for saying like 17 variations of "are ya coding son?" he wouldn't be able to ban people himself before someone else did it. i honestly can't tell if that's better or worse
i think some bans are automated. there are people that have gotten banned in under a second after joining the discord just because of what they set their username to
crazy how you thought THIS was the end of yansim. years later half of the staff quit, i cannot imagine ever seeing it coming out and if it did it wont be as good as people had hoped
The messy code would be fine at first bc he was new to coding and "still learning", but at this point he didn't learn anything new to improve his coding and make it more efficient (compact and functional), I mean, about 6 years have passed, enough time to try a lot of different commands and such, yet nothing is changed in the way he makes the game code? And he complains about the ammount of bug reports and the criticism he has, I wonder why.
its okay to code a game with messy codes. just dont release it if its that bad.(this is only acceptable for game developers that started for atleast 5 months and not six fucking years)
Yeah there's almost NO way he's gonna come back from this. Things on the internet last forever, and at this rate, it's going to be VERY difficult for him to land a job when he leaves his Mother's basement. The only way he could redeem himself possibly would be doing a COMPLETE 180, Apologizing & Owning up for his actions, Admitting that Yandere Simulator won't be finished, Learning to code, Accepting Criticism, etc.
honestly he is past the point of return that he probably will not accept any criticism anymore He is totally convinced that all this is hate despite some of them are constrictive or just pointing out his bad behavior for his own good :// But yeah he really should just apologized yikes
I really feel like at this point, YandereDev is the game version of Chris Chan. Both never finishing their creation, they expect other people to do the work for them, they expect money for doing nothing, and both of them became obsessed with s@xualizing their characters.
I remember looking up to this dude as my idol. (I was around 10-11 years old). And, I remember seeing the "Hate and Shame" video- I felt bad for yanderedev. I saw him as a victim, but now it disappoints me that I was basically brainwashed into thinking that such a horrible person like that was the victim, the "good guy" in this situation. I'm glad that he's been put to light about what he's really like- even if I'm a bit late to finding out. :)
That hate and shame video was SO guilt trippy. Little me felt incredibly bad for wanting game faster due to that video and I wouldn’t even watch yandev criticism for months because of it.
It’s honestly difficult to see a once-loved game become unhinged and a complete disaster. The most recent actions of the developer also didn’t help things, instead making big UA-camrs who played the game frequently (Bijuu Mike is just one example) turn away from it altogether. The VAs of Yandere-Chan and senpai have also quit, most likely because of the brand-new drama that is surrounding YanDev. Also, I feel like the developer is just milking the game for money now. Look at how fast he finished 1980s mode. He finished it with placeholder tasks and almost no voice-acting, and now he’s changing the placeholder tasks and the rivals’. Couldn’t he do that with the original game mode? Overall, it had great potential, but the execution was just not good whatsoever.
@@sublimique2794 hey I just came over here to tell you that the game is actually finished except he won’t release it yet because he has to add more levels to put more bug testing stupid am I right
Dont forget that he BOUGHT the subreddit, which is against Reddit guidelines btw. It was originally a community thing until he bought it from one of the admins.
He reminds me a lot of Butch Hartman. Especially like they both take criticism like the most spoiled 3-Years old the world has ever seen. And if you really wonder what takes him so long: FACT is, he bought a sex doll, dressed her up, held hands with her, broke her (cause he was too rough with some actions) and then freaked out. That's at least one adventure he, in fact, had. An adventurer he had INSTEAD of programming. Well, also deleting criticism online, wherever and whenever, is taking a lot of time. We also know this for a fact.
A lot of this reminds me of the Pokemon Franchise, happily burning right now. It's really in a bad, bad state. Same for Star Trek and Doctor Who. They just produce objectively bad stuff. Scott and YandereDev are complete opposites. Scott is a kind and caring game developer that takes his criticism and makes it into something better, he also never gets mad at or is rude to his fans, he cares about his children and donates to charities very often. He never gets mad at his fanbase and always tries to fix the problem. He doesn't even make his games for money anymore, and when he gets money, he donates it to charity websites/streams. NOW, let's talk about YandereDev, he's a narcissistic jerk who thinks he is handsome and smart and does no wrong. He can't take ANY form of criticism and will even get mad at HIS OWN FANS. He would NEVER donate a dime to any charities unless it saved his life. He is lazy and robs character models, and he thinks he is entitled to complete respect, even know, he is a jerk and is too lazy to update his game.
@@theorange3842 Yandere Dev is a train wreck, a shell of what he used to be, he went from making a popular game, to being a sociopath who throws a tantrum if he doesn't get his way. Yandere Dev didn't pave the way for anything, but Scott was one of the best things to ever happen to the horror genre and he paved the way for so many fan games based off his game, which he created from a single hate comment. Yandere simulator is like a fan fiction with an interesting plot idea but the writer’s grammar could put an English teacher into cardiac arrest and the “authors notes” at the end of each chapter is just the author complaining about the constant grammar comments or criticism in general.
I mean, that makes a lot of sence, thats usually what really fucks games i don't know where the whole "spaghetti code meme lol" come from because while the code is inneficient is not something you don't expect from an innexperience programer that is just learning how to code

She doesn't fit into any Yandere types. imo.
Finally someone said it
Her name is Ayano, and I agree. She’s literally the most bland video protagonist/yandere that I’ve ever seen. At least let her get near her crush without getting immediately heartbroken.
He literally said that he didn't want anyone to disagree with the protagonist so he made a bland character, she didn't even have a name back then
So basically he didn't want to receive criticism so he created a character with no personality whatsoever
Or he could just simply change the word "yandere" to other suitable word to describe Ayano.
Honestly she's made neutral so the player can give her personality. Nothing wrong with that or any of dev's choices, people just think they're obligated to demand a game to be finished to their standards and time
3 reasons why it will never be finished.
1 Yandev is too incompetent
2 Idiots keep giving him money on patreon, so there's every reason to milk it
3 If it takes 6+ years to add one of 10 rivals, odds are yandev, and likely most of us , will die of old age before it's completed.
Yandev may have started out with every intention of completing Yandere simulator, but somewhere along the line he succumbed to greed.

7? He 100% should know how to code. Not to mention someone was sent to help code, and he SENT THEM AWAY. You know what he could have done instead?
Simply, I have always viewed this situation as someone with internal struggles trying to push past them to get out a passion project.
@@Kreepie11 "He's never felt it was in a "ready" state to do a kickstarter, so I'm not sure what they're expecting from a non-coder with limited funds."
It's cute how you try to defend his incompetence when he was already given an opportunity from Tiny Build for the programming stuffs.

One man? Sally Face was made with one man too.
way too popular way too fast
Stardew Valley was made with one person and it's beautiful.

crazy how you thought THIS was the end of yansim. years later half of the staff quit, i cannot imagine ever seeing it coming out and if it did it wont be as good as people had hoped
Remember kids, don’t be the yandere sim dev if you wanna create a game, still though, don’t make codes messy kids
[MC] spenz ik it’s a rick roll
The messy code would be fine at first bc he was new to coding and "still learning", but at this point he didn't learn anything new to improve his coding and make it more efficient (compact and functional), I mean, about 6 years have passed, enough time to try a lot of different commands and such, yet nothing is changed in the way he makes the game code? And he complains about the ammount of bug reports and the criticism he has, I wonder why.
And treat volunteers good and accept help when needed
And don't be lazy
its okay to code a game with messy codes. just dont release it if its that bad.(this is only acceptable for game developers that started for atleast 5 months and not six fucking years)
I seriously wanna do a ban speedrun, now that I know these exist.
i dont know if you can beat 0.00 seconds man seems pretty tough.
Don't do it, we need espionage spies
I'm so close to just making a alt so i can stare at the server
You gotta pay to get into it now, because of all the speedruns being done. He ended up making it a paid server. What a crybaby
I am getting Pokimane Ban Speedruns on my recommendation lol
Yeah there's almost NO way he's gonna come back from this. Things on the internet last forever, and at this rate, it's going to be VERY difficult for him to land a job when he leaves his Mother's basement.
The only way he could redeem himself possibly would be doing a COMPLETE 180, Apologizing & Owning up for his actions, Admitting that Yandere Simulator won't be finished, Learning to code, Accepting Criticism, etc.
honestly he is past the point of return that he probably will not accept any criticism anymore
He is totally convinced that all this is hate despite some of them are constrictive or just pointing out his bad behavior for his own good ://
But yeah he really should just apologized yikes
Craziest Cat lmao he never accepted criticism anyway 😳😳😳
Thats why he is still a kid in the body of an adult, he doesn't think about the consecuences of his actions.
Well, he just released Osana so... he's still on it?
Well he just came out with a demo with Osana sooo....
I really feel like at this point, YandereDev is the game version of Chris Chan. Both never finishing their creation, they expect other people to do the work for them, they expect money for doing nothing, and both of them became obsessed with s@xualizing their characters.
Minus the autism 2 decades of bad parenting and the trolls. Alex is just incompetent
I've only seen coryxkenshin play it
same
Kubz Scouts also played it

I remember looking up to this dude as my idol. (I was around 10-11 years old). And, I remember seeing the "Hate and Shame" video- I felt bad for yanderedev. I saw him as a victim, but now it disappoints me that I was basically brainwashed into thinking that such a horrible person like that was the victim, the "good guy" in this situation. I'm glad that he's been put to light about what he's really like- even if I'm a bit late to finding out. :)
Same
Same.
That hate and shame video was SO guilt trippy. Little me felt incredibly bad for wanting game faster due to that video and I wouldn’t even watch yandev criticism for months because of it.
It's been a solid 4 years since I've heard of yandere simulator, how's it still in development?
Cuz the dev is shit
Cuz the dev is shit

Overall, it had great potential, but the execution was just not good whatsoever.
wasn't 1980s mode supposed to be a stretch goal in the kickstarter... only to be made if yandere dev got enough money?
Even Jay/Kubz Scouts said that he will no longer play Yandere Simulator.
I was in 2nd grade when that game started, now I’m halfway done with high school. I think I’ll graduate college and it’ll still be in development
I was in 3rd grade now I’m in 11th grade it’s crazy
@@sublimique2794 hey I just came over here to tell you that the game is actually finished except he won’t release it yet because he has to add more levels to put more bug testing stupid am I right
I am currently a freshman in college
@@izzyproductions9538 Wait what? Is this actually true? Where did you hear this from 👀
@@ShinoriDelfrim I saw it from one of my favorite UA-camrs spete
Dont forget that he BOUGHT the subreddit, which is against Reddit guidelines btw. It was originally a community thing until he bought it from one of the admins.
Eric Lee it’s been reported but admins are lasaazy
Now the subreddit is dead. Good job, Yanderedev
He reminds me a lot of
Butch Hartman.
Especially like they both
take criticism like
the most spoiled
3-Years old the world
has ever seen.
And if you really wonder what takes him so long:
FACT is, he bought a sex doll, dressed her up, held hands with her,
broke her (cause he was too rough with some actions) and
then freaked out.
That's at least one adventure he, in fact, had.
An adventurer he had INSTEAD of programming.
Well, also deleting criticism online, wherever and whenever,
is taking a lot of time. We also know this for a fact.
A lot of this reminds me
of the Pokemon Franchise,
happily burning right now.
It's really in a bad, bad state.
Same for Star Trek and Doctor Who.
They just produce objectively bad stuff.
At least Doctor Who and Star Trek dont produce
Panty-Shots, but still: It's bad.
Really bad.
But creators are blissssfullly unaware.
Totally.
Yandere Dev: "I gotta blame somebody, otherwise it's all my fault. Fuck that."
I was in high school when I first played a "trial" of the game, I'm now a licensed electronics engineer and has a job but the game's still not yet finished
Scott is like god when you compare him to yandev
Meanwhile, YandereDev compared his game with AAA games like Breath of the Wild
He is lazy and robs character models, and he thinks he is entitled to complete respect, even know, he is a jerk and is too lazy to update his game.
this is extremely accurate
@@RomanSimkins Scott is one of the best developers in my opinion, I can't say the same for yandere dev
Scott takes criticism and makes it into something great, Yandere Dev takes criticism and cries.
Scott : good guy finished games
Toby fox : good guy finished games
Nintendo : good company finished games
Mojang: good finished games
Yanderedev : bad horrible guy unfinished terrible game and no criticism allowed
Morale of the story: nice guys dont finish last afterall
Moreover, Toby Fox made Undertale (original story/characters/music etc) in 4 years and almost all by himself! YandereDev had 6 years and hundreds of volunteers (with stolen assets/unoriginal story), he has no excuse!
Mojang is a good company too bro
No mans sky was also an example of being criticized and instead of banning people and getting mad because the game was bad he is determined to make it good and keeps releasing updates
MeatlyGames: Has some drama and some delay but ultimately finishes games. Yandere Dev has no excuse-
i’m not even exaggerating when i say i found this game when i was like 7 or 8, i’m 15 now it’s literally taken half my life and it’s still very much unfinished with only 1 rival implemented 😵💫😵💫
