Yes, I absolutely agree. My main reason for it though is because of how she is with Chat noir. We have to remember, chat noir is Adrien at his most confident, and happiest. He gets to freely say and do all what he feels he cant at home. And sure, they work great as partners but a lot of the time she treats him as an annoying pest. So the question is, if she doesn’t like him at him when he’s himself why would she like him at all? And you could say “oh it’s because she likes Adrien too much to acknowledge anyone else.” But they’re the still same people.
And that's exactly why so many people like Marichat, because they think that if they get to know each other and know all their flaws and still fall in love then the relationship will be honest and work in the end.

Yes. It makes a better plot and it would make a Deep dive into the series. Don't get me wrong, Marinette is a good main protagonist it's just at times the writer just intend her to mess up and have totally unnecessary chaotic events happening to her. Marinette's whole personality is supposed to come off as an ordinary 14 year old with a few quirks on daily teenage life struggles but instead she mostly appears to be just someone who is weirdly overly infatuated with a boy and has a personality of a brick.
As a woman and a writer, can we PLEASE stop making it acceptable for female characters to behave this way? It’s not cute, funny, relatable or admirable. If it’s supposed to be a flaw or supposed to be toxic by design, that’s fine. It’s part of complex story telling. Characters don’t have to be perfect. But for the love of god, put a crumb of effort in and make it clear that this behaviour isn’t a good thing instead of constantly framing it in a positive “such a quirky girl” light. I’m tired, y’all.

She was obsesses with me because i was the first person to ask to be her friend. She has trauma of being abandoned by her friend so that why this stalking thing happend. Marinette: - Endearingly clumsy to an unreasonable extent - Has two loving parents who trust her indefinitely and never punish or discipline her like real parents would do (unrealistic as heck and it takes away from the show for me) - Everyone loves her even though she has so many flaws (except for Lila and Chloe, who are so irredeemable that they can’t present effective foils to her) - Class President, Album Designer for the Famous Jagged Stone, Fashion Designer liked by Audrey Bourgeois, Guardian of the Miraculous, and Ladybug (the favorite hero of Paris for whatever reason) - Keeps Chat Noir in the dark on everything and consistently puts him down, even if it is done jokingly. And yet he still worships the ground she walks on - Everyone trusts her unconditionally despite all of her selfish mistakes - Stalks Adrien creepily despite almost never having quality or long conversations with him. And everyone encourages it and never yells at her for it, not even Adrien’s best friend or Tikki And she’s gotten away with all of these traits, with very little concrete or positive development, for 4 SEASONS!
Not to mention when Chat Noir DOES get upset at her bcs of keeping him in the dark and never giving a straight answer (she doesn't like him but got mad when he gave attention to someone else for once) he's the bad guy 🙄
For the part about cat noir liking her even though she's being shitty to him : when we think about Adrien as a character I think it makes a lot of sense for him to just endure and for the most part not question her behavior. His dad taught him and I think it makes sense although it shouldn't be presented as ok. We would have needed extra effort on ladybugs part to keep their relationship healthy. And that's simply not the case which is sad bc she's supposed to be a hero u know someone exceptional who's determined to give their all for others. It's doesn't make sense that she is treating him like that.

Yeah this proves my point in the comment I made. It is targeted towards children (I’m pretty sure) and it encourages stalking and acting as if the person you’re attracted to is your possession. I found out why Marinette is like that. She has obsessive love disorder. It’s a disorder about someone obsessing and treating their love interest as if they’re a possession that needs to be protected. I’m quite sure that the writer didn’t intend for her to have this disorder.

Id say lila is actually a rather interesting person, just because someone lies doesn't mean they're complete garbage, it depends on how you use their writing, there's celestia ludenberg who lied about who she is, she did kill for money but how she played her cards felt realistic, her manipulating hifumi and framing yasuhiro felt logical
The worst thing in this whole mess is that the show actually tries its hardest to push the narrative that Marinette is the epitome of perfection, and when she even makes mistakes, she learns her lesson. Except that she doesn't learn crap! And after that Thomas Astruc has the audacity to basically scream in every fan's face that Chloe, a person with pretty realistic human flaws, is unredeemable. Haven't watched this show in a while but I remember a point where Chloe was so close to being redeemed but her arc suddenly took a turn and she became unlikeable again? It felt really forced imo

It was mentioned somewhere that other writers wrote Chloe's character in season 2, and eventually, Thomas was the one who basically canceled Chloe's development without any adequate explanation. You don't just dedicate a character so much screen time, give them a redemption arc, and then declare them "unredeemable" while making them even worse than they were in the beginning. And I don't care about Chloe as a person, we're talking about the show in general and the bad attitude of the creator. And I was talking about hypocrisy and poor writing. Why dedicate so much screen time to her and show her signs of development, just for erasing everything later, thus making everything pointless? Either they had to fill their excess screen time (in that case they wasted time poorly - there are a lot of gaps in the show that desperately need to be fixed), or the writers just screwed up. And it was confirmed that there was tension between Thomas and others on the team about Chloe's fate. Either way, it still comes down to poor communication and poor writing.

Marinette is not a likable character. She's the typical over-powered hero, who everyone is supposed to admire, but literally her only personality is her crush. Quirky, creepy, overrated.
No, she's competent enough to last four seasons as an identity-undisclosed superpowered crimefighter without help from most should-be competent authorities. If her civilian life wasn't focused on high school friends and her crush on a famous model, instead being about helping her parents do business, focusing on her growth as a designer and hanging out with friends for activities that have nothing related to her immediate world, I think she would be much better as a character. And the Miraculous lore should have more focus, her getting taught how to do things kwami-related and the history of Miraculouses in the world. If this show was progressive, Hawk Moth wouldn't last a season and she'd quickly abandon her crush on Adrien. Luka was a better option. I meant that last point objectively, the stupid romance arcs drove me out of watching the show. Did not mean to offend MarinetteXAdrien shippers, or other shippers whose support is on a pairing involving those two.

I remember how much I hated whenever someone criticized Marinette and talked about her being a creepy stalker. I didn't deny the fact that she was obsessed with Adrien (I thought it was creepy myself) but I just hated how people were always calling her out for it. Only recently, I finally realized what a shitty character she actually is. She's obsessed with Adrien, bullies any other girl if they get close to him and literally has her entire future planned with him. If she loves him that freaking much, why can't she confess her love like Chat noir did for Ladybug? At this point, she's just obsessed with Adrien. This is NOT true love. I feel so damn bad for Adrien, he seriously deserves so much better than Marinette who's selfish, insulting and creepy. And she's always treating Chat noir like garbage, as if he doesn't matter (especially in glaciator 2). This video was great.

I feel like Marinette's inherent problematic-ness isn't the issue; a character without flaws is pretty boring. The issue is that her flaws aren't treated as flaws, and the audience is expected to just roll with her stalker tendencies as if they're totally normal. Mari was bullied even worse by Chloe (roaches in her locker,paint on her seat,causing her to get detentions etc) and one day,Kim was an idiot and listend to Chloe's "prank" to Marinette,basically faking his love towards her,since she was in love with him. They go at the pool,Kim opens a small box,and spiders get out of it while they jump on Mari,she falls in the pool,and while falling,she sees Chloe and Sabrina grinning while recording her. Chloe says she's going to post the video and blahbalh but Soqueline intervenes and breaks Chloe's phone. If you look really close into Lila and some scenes of her life at home, you can kinda see why she may lie and hate Marinette. Compared to Marinette, she doesn't exactly get the attention from her parents since they're pretty busy and she couldn't exactly be herself to anyone. While with Marinette, she has two loving parents who give her support and attention as needed and she can be herself and everyone likes her for herself. Lila probably just feels jealous of Marinette which may explain why she may hate her. Also, her lying can just be a coping mechanism. This is just a random thought and explanation I found somewhere on the internet on this.

On a well written show, womething like this could be explored, but mlb doesnt go beyond "Lila bad". It somewhat implies the idea, but thats lazy, so im personally not willing to give them the credit
The problem lies in the fact that the writers of the animated series do not consider Marinette's mistakes and problematic behaviors as intentional transgressions. This is why she faces no consequences, as they believe her actions do not cause any real harm and are simply perceived as amusing and cute. Even though objectively she acts similarly to a yandere personality, excluding murder. It is clearly the fault of the writers who do not want to take responsibility for disastrous narrative choices. Making Marinette a complex character could have been achieved by either : 1) subjecting her to the consequences of her actions and openly acknowledging that her behavior is morally reprehensible, to serve as a lesson for children and to show that Marinette is a human character capable of both good and bad things but takes responsibility, or 2) exploring the path of vice and openly embracing Marinette's dark sides, allowing her to undergo a negative character arc where she becomes more of an anti-hero, instead of remaining in this middle ground where the character is supposed to be "kind" from a narrative standpoint, even though, factually, that is not the case, and the narrative favors her.
Personally, in addition to the points you mentioned, what irritates me the most about Marinette is the unequal dynamic with Chat Noir that frustrates me. The writers, aiming to highlight Marinette in a (bad executed) "feminist" manner, unjustly render Chat Noir inferior. I emphasize that they are supposed to possess the two most powerful Miraculous and therefore be equal as partners. However, Marinette is consistently given more prominence, whether through her imposed leadership posture and Chat Noir relegated to the role of an assistant, her illogical and excessive power-ups, while Chat Noir remains stagnant. With unjust advantages such as her role as a guardian, her arbitrary choice to forbid the revelation of their secret identities, even though she does it herself by telling Alya. Moreover, to defeat the akumas and villains, Chat Noir's role seems not as indispensable as one might think, even though he is supposed to be Ladybug's equal. She can replace him with any sidekick and it works. In summary, if I continue, I will never stop. The writers deliberately keep Chat Noir in the shadows to make Ladybug shine and refuse to maintain a balance between the two, even though they are supposed to represent creation and destruction. Marinette comes across as overly perfect, almost resembling a "Mary Sue" in my view. She enjoys a flawless family life, with loving baker parents who give her space, along with loyal friends. Leading a double life as a superhero, she is cute and seemingly unaffected by any self-esteem issues, which contrasts with the reality of adolescence where many struggle with body image. Her life appears ideal, free from problems or traumas, except for her unrequited love for Adrien. Even though he hasn't rejected her, he sees her merely as a friend because she has never confessed her feelings to him.
also i find it funny that marinette finds cat noir annoying when adrien is most himself when he is cat noir, and yet, when she's barley talked to him and only knows what any fan would know, about him, she loses her sense of morality

I think that the worst problem of marinette is that she can not separate herself from ladybug. She can not understand that marinette is not ladybug and ladybug is not marinette. She use her "alter ego" at her own convenience. She can not keep ladybug and marinette as two different beings. Because she really thinks that she is ladybug, but not, she needs to turn into ladybug for the safe of paris, it is not something she can play with, but she just don't understand it. I'm glad they at least tried to give us an explanation in season 5 as to WHY she was so obsessed with Adrien, but regardless, someone handing their umbrella to you is not enough to become head over heels obsessed with them. They attempted to flesh it out with the Kim prank story, yet that doesn't really mean that she's allowed to stalk him to know more about him. They were ALREADY friends. I get that she was nervous around him since she didn't want to look bad in front of him, but Alya literally GAVE her multiple chances and opportunities to get to know him better and she STILL turns to stalking him and sniffing his bed and pillows to "get to know him better". Plus if he was like Chloe then I'd understand why she would be nervous, but he's LITERALLY THE MOST EASILY APPROACHABLE CHARACTER IN THE CANON. It just doesn't make any rational sense.

Adrien is a nice guy but this is too much , she can't even talk properly in front of him , how the world they make communication ? This is just a phyisical attraction or love disorder. She thinks that Adrien loves other girls , sis , he never loved you so you aren't betrayed one. And she acts like get bullying from Chloe and then she makes so mean things to Chloe and others , Marinette is popular and loved in school but always acts she is the loser , not loved or something. Ever since that day, I think Marinette fell in love with the chivalrous act Adrian did. She saw him as not some stuck up bratty wealthy child but her Parisian knight in shining armour. Something snapped in her head after that so she mistook his respectfully kind deed as a 'mating' call. Like "hey...I'm available" and now every time she's around him all she sees are pretty sparkles + Adrian can do no wrong. More than anything I wanted her with Luka due to their relationship being more based off core values (besides her not being able to trust him and rather chooses to trust Alya 100 percent which still kinda ticks me off). Like many commenters have said, Marinette's only obsessed with Adrian for his looks. She doesn't really know him like she thinks she does. She only knows the surface things/info about Adrian. It's also not healthy that her friends enable her crazed Stan stalker possessive behavior around Adrian. Lukanette was way healthier despite the writers having her completely reject the good guy in front of her for the guy (Adrian) in her class that she doesn't really know at all. When it gets to the point where you break into your crush's house to leave love confession note and start fangirling over everything he does then we have a problem. I really hope they have Luka genuinely move on from Marinette due to it being a lost cause. He means well with trying to hook Adrianette up but hasn't seen Mari's crazy stalker Stan behavior. My hope is that the writers have Luka and Alex (LukAlex) develope something sweet. Or have the more fan tolerated and pushed Luka+Kagami which really never had any scenes together.
If I made a pie chart of akumatizations, 30% would be Chloe, 20% would be any random reason convenient to the plot, and 50% would have to do with Marinette’s obsession with Adrian. It’s not funny or cute. This is how toxic relationships start.

Second off, Chat Noirs whole personality is being confident and cocky, so obviously he's going to act like he knows everything, that's his literal persona, but learning to use a miraculous, specifically, the ladybug one is hard, and there is evidence when Marinette struggles, so obviously Chat noir is going to struggle, especially because he never had time to get explained how to use it. Since ladybug LOVES to point out they are partners, good partners would have shown them or guided them on what to do. And this wasn't a mistake she made either, because she taunted Mr.Bug throughout the episode about it, so clearly it's just a personality flaw. I have no issue with flawed protagonists but they have to be done correctly, and Marinnite is done a protagonist who is done correctly, and this is coming from a writer, so I know my stuff. She's pretty rude and ignorant, and she's quite bratty and entitled, and I'm not hating on the show nor the character, nor the voice actors, but simply the writers for how poorly written she is. And I'm not hating on the show, the overall plot is ok but the way that the fandom is, and the way the characters are written is what I'm criticizing, not hating. Frrrrrr. I always wondered why the kid was my favorite character. But it’s this. And the fact that he gets to be himself when he’s Cat Noir. There’s so much to his character that we know about and so much depth. There’s something going against him while on the other hand marinette has everything going for her and she acts very very strange.

Yes, I absolutely agree. My main reason for it though is because of how she is with Chat noir. We have to remember, chat noir is Adrien at his most confident, and happiest. He gets to freely say and do all what he feels he cant at home. And sure, they work great as partners but a lot of the time she treats him as an annoying pest. So the question is, if she doesn’t like him at him when he’s himself why would she like him at all? And you could say “oh it’s because she likes Adrien too much to acknowledge anyone else.”

As a woman and a writer, can we PLEASE stop making it acceptable for female characters to behave this way? It’s not cute, funny, relatable or admirable. If it’s supposed to be a flaw or supposed to be toxic by design, that’s fine. It’s part of complex story telling. Characters don’t have to be perfect. But for the love of god, put a crumb of effort in and make it clear that this behaviour isn’t a good thing instead of constantly framing it in a positive “such a quirky girl” light. I’m tired, y’all.

Well she did get ahead of herself and made things worse by using Cataclysm on Reflektdoll causing it to go berserk and that was all on her, Mister Bug told her he never used his Cataclysm on a sentimonster before, and she never thought what it would do to them, but she screwed that one up and was forced to think of something, she was also salty that Mister Bug got what he wanted, a mirror, saying he had beginner's luck, clearly jealous that he could get what he wanted for the situation while she always goes blind.

- Keeps Chat Noir in the dark on everything and consistently puts him down, even if it is done jokingly. And yet he still worships the ground she walks on
- Everyone trusts her unconditionally despite all of her selfish mistakes
- Stalks Adrien creepily despite almost never having quality or long conversations with him. And everyone encourages it and never yells at her for it, not even Adrien’s best friend or Tikki
And she’s gotten away with all of these traits, with very little concrete or positive development, for 4 SEASONS!
Not to mention when Chat Noir DOES get upset at her bcs of keeping him in the dark and never giving a straight answer (she doesn't like him but got mad when he gave attention to someone else for once) he's the bad guy 🙄
For the part about cat noir liking her even though she's being shitty to him : when we think about Adrien as a character I think it makes a lot of sense for him to just endure and for the most part not question her behavior. His dad taught him and I think it makes sense although it shouldn't be presented as ok. We would have needed extra effort on ladybugs part to keep their relationship healthy. And that's simply not the case which is sad bc she's supposed to be a hero u know someone exceptional who's determined to give their all for others. Something that also really bugs me is (like you said) that ladybug is the number one hero. I mean they are supposed to be equals. It's already getting unfair in how lady bug is the one who can deevilize akumas and repair all the damages and cat noir can just break something. Yeah this proves my point in the comment I made. It is targeted towards children (I’m pretty sure) and it encourages stalking and acting as if the person you’re attracted to is your possession. I found out why Marinette is like that. She has obsessive love disorder. It’s a disorder about someone obsessing and treating their love interest as if they’re a possession that needs to be protected. I’m quite sure that the writer didn’t intend for her to have this disorder.
And her friends enable it to make it seem justifiable to us. But now that I reflect over Marinette’s obsession with Adrien you could definitely tell that it was very unhealthy. And there is no underlying reason why she might be obsessing over Adrien like being hurt by someone rlly bad or something.

No, she's competent enough to last four seasons as an identity-undisclosed superpowered crimefighter without help from most should-be competent authorities. If her civilian life wasn't focused on high school friends and her crush on a famous model, instead being about helping her parents do business, focusing on her growth as a designer and hanging out with friends for activities that have nothing related to her immediate world, I think she would be much better as a character.
And the Miraculous lore should have more focus, her getting taught how to do things kwami-related and the history of Miraculouses in the world. If this show was progressive, Hawk Moth wouldn't last a season and she'd quickly abandon her crush on Adrien. Luka was a better option.

I feel like Marinette's inherent problematic-ness isn't the issue; a character without flaws is pretty boring. The issue is that her flaws aren't treated as flaws, and the audience is expected to just roll with her stalker tendencies as if they're totally normal. Its even worse when she's supposed to be this shining example of heroism and moral purity when she casually does awful things in the meantime that we usually get no indication that she's learned or grown from them

The worst is that she gets a "sad" backstory in Season 5,that god-awful,cursed,horrible,terrible,blood-boiling epsiode,Derision.

Mari was bullied even worse by Chloe (roaches in her locker,paint on her seat,causing her to get detentions etc) and one day,Kim was an idiot and listend to Chloe's "prank" to Marinette,basically faking his love towards her,since she was in love with him. They go at the pool,Kim opens a small box,and spiders get out of it while they jump on Mari,she falls in the pool,and while falling,she sees Chloe and Sabrina grinning while recording her. Chloe says she's going to post the video and blahbalh but Soqueline intervenes and breaks Chloe's phone.
This got the fans wild,suddenly feeling sorry for Mari and there even was a video named "Chloe Bourgeois is BEYOND redemption" which is WRONG; BEING INFURIATED BY A CHARACTER GIVES YOU NO RIGT TO CALL THEM "IREEDAMABLE"

If you look really close into Lila and some scenes of her life at home, you can kinda see why she may lie and hate Marinette. Compared to Marinette, she doesn't exactly get the attention from her parents since they're pretty busy and she couldn't exactly be herself to anyone. While with Marinette, she has two loving parents who give her support and attention as needed and she can be herself and everyone likes her for herself. Lila probably just feels jealous of Marinette which may explain why she may hate her. Also, her lying can just be a coping mechanism. There was no reason for Marinette to hate on Lila. She was just jealous.
The problem lies in the fact that the writers of the animated series do not consider Marinette's mistakes and problematic behaviors as intentional transgressions. This is why she faces no consequences, as they believe her actions do not cause any real harm and are simply perceived as amusing and cute. Even though objectively she acts similarly to a yandere personality, excluding murder. It is clearly the fault of the writers who do not want to take responsibility for disastrous narrative choices.
Making Marinette a complex character could have been achieved by either :
1) subjecting her to the consequences of her actions and openly acknowledging that her behavior is morally reprehensible, to serve as a lesson for children and to show that Marinette is a human character capable of both good and bad things but takes responsibility, or 2) exploring the path of vice and openly embracing Marinette's dark sides, allowing her to undergo a negative character arc where she becomes more of an anti-hero, instead of remaining in this middle ground where the character is supposed to be "kind" from a narrative standpoint, even though, factually, that is not the case, and the narrative favors her.
Personally, in addition to the points you mentioned, what irritates me the most about Marinette is the unequal dynamic with Chat Noir that frustrates me. The writers, aiming to highlight Marinette in a (bad executed) "feminist" manner, unjustly render Chat Noir inferior. I emphasize that they are supposed to possess the two most powerful Miraculous and therefore be equal as partners. However, Marinette is consistently given more prominence, whether through her imposed leadership posture and Chat Noir relegated to the role of an assistant, her illogical and excessive power-ups, while Chat Noir remains stagnant.
With unjust advantages such as her role as a guardian, her arbitrary choice to forbid the revelation of their secret identities, even though she does it herself by telling Alya. Moreover, to defeat the akumas and villains, Chat Noir's role seems not as indispensable as one might think, even though he is supposed to be Ladybug's equal. She can replace him with any sidekick and it works. In summary, if I continue, I will never stop. The writers deliberately keep Chat Noir in the shadows to make Ladybug shine and refuse to maintain a balance between the two, even though they are supposed to represent creation and destruction.
Marinette comes across as overly perfect, almost resembling a "Mary Sue" in my view. She enjoys a flawless family life, with loving baker parents who give her space, along with loyal friends. Leading a double life as a superhero, she is cute and seemingly unaffected by any self-esteem issues, which contrasts with the reality of adolescence where many struggle with body image. Her life appears ideal, free from problems or traumas, except for her unrequited love for Adrien. Even though he hasn't rejected her, he sees her merely as a friend because she has never confessed her feelings to him.

I'm glad they at least tried to give us an explanation in season 5 as to WHY she was so obsessed with Adrien, but regardless, someone handing their umbrella to you is not enough to become head over heels obsessed with them. They attempted to flesh it out with the Kim prank story, yet that doesn't really mean that she's allowed to stalk him to know more about him. They were ALREADY friends. I get that she was nervous around him since she didn't want to look bad in front of him, but Alya literally GAVE her multiple chances and opportunities to get to know him better and she STILL turns to stalking him and sniffing his bed and pillows to "get to know him better". Plus if he was like Chloe then I'd understand why she would be nervous, but he's LITERALLY THE MOST EASILY APPROACHABLE CHARACTER IN THE CANON. It just doesn't make any rational sense.

Ever since that day, I think Marinette fell in love with the chivalrous act Adrian did. She saw him as not some stuck up bratty wealthy child but her Parisian knight in shining armour. Something snapped in her head after that so she mistook his respectfully kind deed as a 'mating' call. Like "hey...I'm available" and now every time she's around him all she sees are pretty sparkles + Adrian can do no wrong. More than anything I wanted her with Luka due to their relationship being more based off core values (besides her not being able to trust him and rather chooses to trust Alya 100 percent which still kinda ticks me off). Like many commenters have said, Marinette's only obsessed with Adrian for his looks. She doesn't really know him like she thinks she does. She only knows the surface things/info about Adrian. It's also not healthy that her friends enable her crazed Stan stalker possessive behavior around Adrian. Lukanette was way healthier despite the writers having her completely reject the good guy in front of her for the guy (Adrian) in her class that she doesn't really know at all. When it gets to the point where you break into your crush's house to leave love confession note and start fangirling over everything he does then we have a problem. I really hope they have Luka genuinely move on from Marinette due to it being a lost cause. He means well with trying to hook Adrianette up but hasn't seen Mari's crazy stalker Stan behavior. My hope is that the writers have Luka and Alex (LukAlex) develope something sweet. Or have the more fan tolerated and pushed Luka+Kagami which really never had any scenes together.

Second off, Chat Noirs whole personality is being confident and cocky, so obviously he's going to act like he knows everything, that's his literal persona, but learning to use a miraculous, specifically, the ladybug one is hard, and there is evidence when Marinette struggles, so obviously Chat noir is going to struggle, especially because he never had time to get explained how to use it. Since ladybug LOVES to point out they are partners, good partners would have shown them or guided them on what to do. And this wasn't a mistake she made either, because she taunted Mr.Bug throughout the episode about it, so clearly it's just a personality flaw. I have no issue with flawed protagonists but they have to be done correctly, and Marinnite is done a protagonist who is done correctly, and this is coming from a writer, so I know my stuff. She's pretty rude and ignorant, and she's quite bratty and entitled, and I'm not hating on the show nor the character, nor the voice actors, but simply the writers for how poorly written she is. And I'm not hating on the show, the overall plot is ok but the way that the fandom is, and the way the characters are written is what I'm criticizing, not hating. Frrrrrr. I always wondered why the kid was my favorite character. But it’s this. And the fact that he gets to be himself when he’s Cat Noir. There’s so much to his character that we know about and so much depth. There’s something going against him while on the other hand marinette has everything going for her and she acts very very strange.

Teaching young girls that, instead of normalizing bad relationships and how somebody stalking you is romantic, it's saying that stalking others is romantic and the best way to get your crush.
Chloe is better person than Marinette. At least Chloe is honest and she doesn't hide who she is. Marinette on the other hand is manipulative and evil and she is enough evil to think that she is a good person.
