Another fantastic vlog. Interestingly enough it was Murray Wilkie (Scotland’s Mountains) who inspired me to get hillwalking again. So I then wanted to photograph the walks. I turned to UA-cam to learn photography and found Mr Heaton you guys have been great inspiration and great help. Can’t wait for your upcoming book Thomas. Two down to earth blokes with great talent. Now I understand why Murray’s photos are so good, he has a secrete weapon up his sleeve.
It's difficult enough to hike in the dark, and still you provided us some b-roll. This is why I love watching your videos. Not just for the awesome photos, but also seeing, somewhat experiencing and obviously enjoying the breathtaking journeys you took, places that I won't be going in my life.
I haven’t watched a tv show in ages as all I’ve been doing is binge watching your videos. I find them so inspiring, and I learn something new on every video.
Anyone else having a lockdown binge on Thomas Channel? just watching some of his videos from passed years and my god this fella is talented. Who knew Scotland was so beautiful. Love the photos Mr Heaton keep up the great work in 2021 🙂
@@piotrmaslanka7334 Thanks I will Google that place you said. I've never been to Scotland before! can't wait for lockdown to end and hopefully get some normality back so we can travel again!
I stumbled across this channel by accident two or three days ago and have been obsessively binge watching ever since. I'm not usually one to leave comments, however, I felt like I wanted to give some positivity back after all of the inspirational, honest and brilliant content you've provided. It's only a quick thank you, but, it is sincerely meant. Have a great day.
Don't want to sound negative but I've always liked that he didn't do that, just concentrated on the image. And he always talks about the settings in the video anyway
Another great video and beautiful footage of a beautiful place. But also worth remembering another 3 lives were lost just this week on Ben Nevis. As much as we enjoy the outdoors, can everyone please respect the landscape and the environment as conditions can change so quickly in the mountains. We talk about 4 seasons in 1 day but it really is true how a beautiful day can take a turn for the worse! Goes without saying, respect to our (VOLUNTARY) mountain rescue teams dedicated to helping those who end up in trouble but all too often end up carrying bodies and injured casualties down from the hills. Enjoy yourselves and have fun but be careful. Scotland thrives and relies on tourism of all types but come prepared and educated for some amazing experiences :)
Still loving your videos, there’s just something about the way you talk to us so naturally that makes you such a pleasure to watch. Plus of course the tips, learning, images and fabulous views. And your new hat of course! Thank you Tom.
I’ve loved every minute of watching you in Scotland Thomas I so wish I was as fit and healthy as I used to be, but I still get by, I’m hopefully on my holiday of a week tour in western highlands end of this month.
Never climbed up Chrulaiste from that side before, always went up from the Altnafeadh end, always feels like a short but brutal slog but totally worth it for the views. That first image was ace.
Hi Thomas - I’m returning to the States from a business trip in Europe and decided to treat myself to a mini vacation. Inspired by your recent videos I’m going to spend a few days at a B&B in Glencoe! Will be my first time in Scotland and the UK. I don’t have the physicality to do the same type of hiking and camping as you but I’m still excited to see some natural beauty!
Love it. I was up here at this exact place taking some photos and making a vlog just before you released this. It's so interesting to someone else's take at the same location. That is my favourite mountain to photograph. It always looks stunning!
Great series Thomas, stunning views and photos. Have made two trips to Glencoe from deep Cornwall, raining the first one and the second, err.... raining as well! so great to see it so beautiful...next trip planned on the strength of these. I will pack my coat.
You did an excellent job with the commentary and a phenomenal job at capturing the stunning views. I had no idea Scotland has so many scenic views. Absolutely gorgeous! keep up the hard work.
Thanks for this Thomas. A stunningly beautiful place indeed but let's pause for a moment and consider that it is also a very dangerous place, and also to remember the six climbers who have tragically lost their lives on Scotland's mountains, including in Glencoe, in the past few days.
Nice to see Thomas, it's not always about the photography just being there is often good enough. I've spent many weeks camped at Glencoe in all weathers, can't have too much of the place. I'm watching this sitting in my shorts with an ice cold beer at 10pm 30 degrees C in southern Thailand - Cheers
Great hike in glencoe Thomas and you captured some nice images along the way too. And seeing you were with Murray I could not ask for more from a video :D Thanks for sharing atb :D Teddy
I enjoyed all your videos from Scotland. 10/10 for effort - tricky driving conditions, and in this video another tough climb and fighting the snow and light at the top. Great stuff 👍🏻 The light may not have been at its best that day but two good images and memories for sure.
@@ThomasHeatonPhoto I watched the video on my big TV. When the close-up of the Pano came up and then zoomed out it brought a lump to my throat. If a photo can elicit such a response then it must be more than special. Thanks.
Another superb video Thomas. Just looks so dangerous climbing in the dark through those conditions. Your a braver man than me but the images make it all worth while. Great job!!
So beautiful place and this your trip in the dark looks very inspiring. Splendid video Thomas! Thank you so much. Wish you a safe journeys and all the best. and yes, black and white photography was attractive :)
Thought of you today while we were walking up Rocky Valley, Tintagel and stopped for our coffee and biscuit break and got out our piece of tarpaulin to sit on! Priceless! Loved the Scotland series. Any chance of you coming to Cornwall then?
Ben Goulash (as we affectionately call it!) is probably one of the most boring hills in Scotland for walking, but the views are great. Loved the pano, I must do more of those...
Great video Thomas. Your channel and videos have been a real inspiration. In fact they have inspired me to document my wife’s and I’s landscape photography adventures. I started a new UA-cam channel two months ago. Hopefully I can help to inspire someone with them one of these days. Thanks
stopped drinking coffee and all caffeine 5 weeks ago. I've noticed zero difference in waking up in the morning. Just an experiment for fun, but I'll def drink coffee again because i love it so.
Another nice video, if I may ask , are you happy with the Ford van and are you running snow tyres?im about to buy a camper for my photo adventures cheers don
Thomas, great stuff yet again, couldn't help thinking it would be a good idea to use your nifty folding seat mat as a french flag .. shading the lens and camera completely from the sun, especially when doing pano's, just a thought it's in the bag, another use?????
You said you slept as a baby... The only ones who say that are those who never slept (or tried to) in the same room as a baby. ;) Thank you for sharing this nice adventure.
Seriously... the first thing I have to do in the morning is to go and let some water go... not take more in. Don’t know why this came to mind but... going outside for some relieve can’t be easy on that weather. :) great video so far (1m) btw. Will continue to watch it.
I can’t help but wonder what the black and white image would look like with the blue sky darkened with the red channel. Great images and vlog as usual!
No, he was referring to the harsh light on the mountains. A lens hood would only prevent direct sunlight coming from the side of the lens. He often simply covers the lens from the side with his hand to prevent this
Obviously depends on what you want from the trip but remember the days are very short in the winter. I'd say late winter or spring - early winter can be too mild.
Drew Jones Polarization can be tricky when shooting wide panos because the the maximum polarization occurs at a 90 degree angle with the sun. So when you change the direction ur camera is facing it can result in differently polarized images. Most often this can be seen in the sky where in some images the sky is darker (more polarized) than others.
Apologies for missing last Sunday's upload. Things were busy at home, but I hope you enjoy this final video from my week in Scotland. X
Thomas Heaton Final? 😢😢
Bastard.
Not good enough. Do you even care anymore you lazy prick! lol
No worries Thomas. Glad that you uploaded this one. Sometimes you've gotta take some time off for family, friends!
So happy that it wasn't anything major at home. You were missed fella, but you made up for it with this belter of a hike. All the best.

I knew Scotland is beautiful because I live in it :) Google Clackmannanshire, it’s the smallest county in the UK but god is it nice

That's really nice to hear, thanks a lot and welcome to the channel. Glad you're enjoying it :)
That pano gave me a lump in my throat. So beautiful. Thank you for sharing another amazing day out.
I love the addition of the data line under the photographs at the end of the video! For a beginner such as myself, it’s really helpful!

Great to see Murray again
Nice images. The pano is gorgeous. Thank you for sharing!!!

Another super video Thomas. Thank you.
Absolutely breathtaking.....I have never seen Glencoe look like that...just blows me away...It would make an awesome canvas....
I really appreciate you showing the settings and images as a recap at the end. It's a great learning opportunity for me!
No worries on missing the Sunday video. Life happens. This series from Scotland in winter has added that location to my trip list. Thanks Thomas!
Another AWSOME episode and beautiful images Thomas! I watch Murray's channel and it is always interesting to listen to his accent....😆
I was so sad there wasn't a video Sunday, but this makes up for it. An epic adventure in the snow in Scotland. Beautiful!
Fantastic video and Awesome shots. Love them.
My favorite way to make coffee, makes such a good cup. 🤗 The b&w pano was wonderful to look at.

Love the B&W pano - really works. Also the new style of putting the images in at the end with the exposure info is excellent - keep that up!
Beautiful Pano in B/W.
To share your experience of the summit is amazing, thanks for sharing, your videos are awesome
Great video from a great day out - was super jealous of that soup 🥣!!

Snow shoes {rackets} might have helped?
