You have stepped your game up on the production side the past few videos. It's amazing watching them and how it's evolved. It wasn't that the old ones where bad but it's really noticeable the effort now.being put in.
I'm watching these Scotland videos four months after they were published because I got a bit behind with things. But the great thing is, with the UK having just gone into lockdown for the coronavirus pandemic, this is giving me a way to experience the Great Outdoors through your adventures while I'm mostly confined to my flat. So thank you for everything you've done in the past and continue to do now. You've made so many people's lives a little brighter!
Hmmm. Eat some food, drink some whiskey, hopefully grab some sleep and forego the astro. You chose wisely. After a tough slog in those conditions, I think any sane individual would concur. It's funny how the reward of the sunset changed your view of the hike. The hope of that reward is the essence of what drives us photographers. Some more than others. Well done Thomas!
How have I only just found this channel! This is pure perfection, a wonderful adventure to a wonderful photo spot. So nice the effort in the filming and really just fantastic, inspiring content!
I freakin love you showing what you awesome photographers go through for shots. I don't go through that extreme, but am hopeful too as I continue on my journey. Just love your video's sir.
I'm one of those subscribers that waits a while between watching your video and when I feel the lack of inspiration I do a binge watch in my warm cosy office and start planning my next adventure when I have time off to do so.
Been subscribed to you and ScotlandsMountains for a wee while now, love the vlogs and well grounded personalities. I’m not surprised that you and Murray have done a few vlogs together. Two great channels with two great personalities, the kind of guys most of us would like to go on a hike-photography outing with. Shame there was no Astro, as we just want more....
Absolutely amazing mate great job! I hate to say it but your uphill struggles etc bring me comfort knowing I'm not the only one that gets days like that (All the time almost) on the Scottish Hills. I'm an amateur landscape photographer and manic camper and since I don't drive I have no option but to hitchhike and camp on the summits of the Munros etc most of the time. But I love it! Thats my style ... and its awesome knowing I'm 24 yrs old and theres plenty of time to fight and capture the elements.! May the universe be kind
I love your commitment to photography and your willingness to face just about any conditions for a photo. I am always amazed. Keep up the awesome videos.
Great video, incredible image and the fact that you’re out in the nature all the time and still get excited by a frog is exactly the reason I subscribed to this channel over two years ago! Love your enthusiasm. Keep rockin‘ it Tom!
Hi Thomas, thank you for this calming video, one can literally smell the trees around the camp site. You know what I like most these days? Besides all market movements towards mirrorless, megapixels or any latedt and greatest news....you just seem to focus on your core topics, going out shooting epic cuts. I know you made some videos about gear, also explaining why not worrying about that anymore. Like what you show there and where you set the focus! All the best.
Greetings from Finland ! These vlogs are slowly turning into a new interesting direction. Hiking on photography location with new thoughts. Excellent !
That video really seemed to convey the coldness, wildness and how remote the Cairgorms can be, but at the same time the sheer joy of being out in the mountains. Great video and great shot!
I don’t often comment but wanted to say a huge thanks for all the terrific content and photos. I think I started my own photography around 2016 so have learned an awful lot. Also just listed to your Togcast from a couple years ago, really great. I particularly love your abstract shots but it’s all good. So keep it up and many thanks for the entertainment 👍
Reminds me of a trip I made earlier this year to Pinnacle National Park, except I had the wrong sleeping bag for the temp and never felt so cold in my life had to abandon the tent in middle of night and take refuge in my truck. The good thing was that I was up real early and got in a good hike to try to catch a California Condor (not successful but great hike nonetheless). Thanks for sharing as always
This is a great video. It is wonderful to go on your hike with you. I love the location, love the frog and love the image you took, and oh those Scots Pines, gorgeous. The info on your equipment was helpful too. Thank you.
Cairngorms 😍 was at Scotland for 2 weeks in 2018 and Cairngorms was absolutely amazing, Aviemore and the Lochs around it... Wonderful! Jealous as it gets...
Thank you Thomas for taking us along on your adventures! Always enjoy your vids. Looked like a great time (but cold, of course). Was excited to see what you would get Astro wise but, hey, that doesn’t always work out. Cheers
Hi, I was watching Thomas’s video. I always wish I can be there and do what he does. What are you doing here? Don’t bother telling me you have just uploaded a Video though, not that I care.. Anyway, you both should do the milky way together someday. I did not like your photos of milky way, even thought I did not watch your video, I could have guess, you know. Maybe Thomas’s photo of Milky way will turn out good. To prove what I have said, here is the crap ua-cam.com/video/YDy8PllU-Tg/v-deo.html
You dont need any tips about photography trips do you? wrong.....buy a bigger whiskey flask.......thanks for taking us with you on your many ventures, they are most enjoyable, your pictures are not too bad either, only joking they are stunning! I love your enthusiasm especially when the weather is so poor... Well done and thanks again.
This video is honestly my favourite of all the ones I've seen so far on this channel. I went to Glencoe for the first time just last weekend and it reminded me of you and your channel so I came back and have not been disappointed :)
Great video Thomas, love these adventury ones, lol. Did you notice the epic dead tree sculpture @10.44 in. You should look out for dead trees on your travels they make superb subjects, especially when all the autumn colours on living trees have left us, cheers.
I’m always confused by the anti-simplistic viewers who leave ‘thumbs down’ on videos which have a clear theme outlined in the description. Why’d you watch if you are not interested in the content? Are they really viewing, or are they just haters with issues?
The photo really describes the condition of the weather. But it is captured a delightful violence of nature. Beautiful! Thank you Thomas for the video. Stay warm:) and wish you good luck!
Thanks for taking me with you on your hike! Was thinking about whether go hiking at the weekend or not. But now I definitely will! Greetings from Berlin!
Everytime i commit myself for an adventurous trip, i have second thoughts, always. When i see your videos I imagine myself taking the images outdoor and thats when the desire is rekindled!
Don't normally comment but that was a top video. Thanks for bringing the elements to life, making it entertaining and informative on gear, preparation and knowing when to act sensibly! I was interested in you, appearing from the video at least, leaving your tripod up and bag hanging outside. Do you do that on every camping - photo trip? Even in what looked like breezy (and potentially wet) conditions? Thanks again 👍
I found your channel recently Tom and love it! Great content, great locations and interesting subjects, all of which has inspired me to get out more and take photographs. Look forward to the UA-cam notification on my phone each week. Thanks and keep it up!
Thank you for these amazing videos that give so much inspiration. Been going out more lately cause of you and I just want to thank you and hope to see so much more from you. Keep up the great work.
Really enjoy these type of videos Tom. Another very enjoyable watch. I notice you are now using the Shimoda backpack, no doubt persuaded by Mr.Page, so I look forward to your thoughts on this at some stage. It looks pretty good. I bought an Atlas Athlete backpack last year, thinking it was the ideal balance between photo and outdoor gear but boy do I find the straps uncomfortable; quite possibly 'cos I'm nearer Mr. Page's size. I may have to switch to something else at some stage.
Great to see you with the Shimoda bag and that all your hiking gear fits into it. How was the experience. Will you do a review on the bag? I’m looking for a hiking and photo bag for some time and think this could be the one. Thanks for another great video!
Great Video Thomas. Nice to see you going back to your original content. (just wondering if the weight of the 70-200 on that pano head doesn't push to much the lens/camera ring connection). Thanks for the content!
A friend of mine used to have a flask usually filled with Jack Daniel's, of course being Scotland a fine sipping single malt would be appropriate around the camp fire. Not a drinker myself, a nice cup of tea or coffee would suit me just fine.
If your intrested the bubbles are back at Lake Abraham not as much snow , some days warm some days cold. Greetings from west central Alberta. Cheers Great video.
Really incredible video Thomas! You had me captivated when hiking towards that epic weather and the set up to photograph them. That photograph was great! It completely resonated with me, it's often the most challenging conditions that tend to yield those photos with wow factor. Thanks for sharing this one
It was great to watch this video .... from the comfort of my warm home , hope to get out there myself this weekend and get some more lovely Irish landscapes in , this time ill make sure ive more memory on my recorder for video Dont think im ready for camping .... just yet ,
Get yourself the Glenlivet 18, it's a proper wee dram for the next time on this hill ;-) watched your vid two weeks ago and was looking foreward for Tom's vid. Great work, both of you! Take care, cheers
Best of luck for your Nepal trip..😊👍🏽 Carry a little of dark rum..one of the most loved brand is called “ Old Monk” cheap, but man it has a cult following!!
Sorry forgot to mention don’t have too much of it..😛😆..peg or maximum 2 should keep you warm..help with sleep..more than that combined with high altitude is just asking for trouble...
When the Vallerets have to come off to manage gear, consider trying a pair of disposable latex. I always have in my kit and I live in a very cold climate..they keep in just enough heat to tie you over until the vallerets and their merino liners can go back on. The latex take up no room. Bring multiples.
Dare I say it, but is this an image for the 2021 calendar as it was a cracking image. Hope you have a safe and enjoyable time in Nepal and look forward to seeing your take on it Thomas
Camping and photography, great combo. Thanks for sharing. Nice photo. 👌
Storm light is the best light!
I have never appreciated you more than when you got excited about the toad. He was MAGNIFICENT!

Oh my ! There was so much emotion in this video! This Scottish series is fantastic! Can't wait for the next story.
Great video Tom! Also the Milky Way course by Michael Shainblum and Gavin looks amazing

Always a great video with you and Murray👍 great wee adventure and well worth braving the elements for that image 👌👌
I freakin love you showing what you awesome photographers go through for shots. I don't go through that extreme, but am hopeful too as I continue on my journey. Just love your video's sir.
This is it, this is the kind of video I like the best of yours. I know they can't all be this, but when there is one it's always a gem! Thanks Thomas!
What a powerful shot. You can feel immediately just by looking at the photograph that this kind of scene demands extreme determination to achieve.
I'm one of those subscribers that waits a while between watching your video and when I feel the lack of inspiration I do a binge watch in my warm cosy office and start planning my next adventure when I have time off to do so.
Ur outdoor overnites trips w landscape photog are a raw pleasure and some of the best vlogs available. Please continue on

I F...ING LOVE YOUR VIDEOS! And I love Scotland too, a place that is close to my heart
Thank for taking us along with you guys, loved the camping, hiking, photography video.
I love when you and Murray do a video together. My favorite two UK based UA-camrs. Great video.
Whiskey and great landscape view , it doesn't get any better. Cheers mate.
What a shot at 16:30 - the pure force of nature :) And absolutely fantastic timing! The cold fingers payed definitely off, Thomas ;)

Literally 60 percent of hikes I take. Miserable during. Amazing after.
Cairngorms 😍 was at Scotland for 2 weeks in 2018 and Cairngorms was absolutely amazing, Aviemore and the Lochs around it... Wonderful! Jealous as it gets...
What a lovely person! 😊 Going up to Kielder tomorrow and I’m now inspired.

Me and my 3.5cm self inflating mat are jealous of that plush cot of yours! As always, thanks for the content Mr. Heaton.
Got really anxious about the water bottle you left behind.
but realised that it's in front of a video camera so you must have come back to grab.

I literally would have taken that whole bottle of whisky with me... which is probably why my photos aren't so good.
I find the same problem with weed.
Jeff Nielsen you prob get the Astro shots in daytime then 😉
