    So
at TDC you have to do the two adjustments on each of the
    - number 1 abd 2 on intake & number 1& 3 on exhaust
    Then turn engine 120 clockwise
Then do the two adjustments on the
    - number 3, 4 on intake & 2 abd 4 on exhaust
    Correct?
    Thanx mate

Hi Thanks for a great video ,can you explain the injector tightening bolt sequence a little more ,front bolt 1.1 NM rear bolt ? 180 degree?and front bolt 90degree again ? Cheers and thanks .Paul

Tighten the bolt on the engine front side of the fuel injector holder bolts to 1.1 ± 0.1 N·m.
tighten the engine rear side bolts of the fuel injector holder to 180 ± 1 degree angle.
again tighten the engine front side bolts of the fuel injector holder to 90 ± 1 degree angle.
35 ± 5: Tightening torque of the fuel injection pipe (unit: N·m)

@@PrimeTechauto Firstly thankyou for such a quick reply you're amazing 👍 Im no mechanic and dont really understand the degrees part of the tightening procedure,is the rear bolt tightened until it contacts the face and then simply turned another 180 degrees , obviously I have no idea .just interested in how this all works and the front bolt at 1.1 Nm doesnt sound very tight then 90degrees more ? Cheers Paul

@@PaulDockley-yp1vw yeah , just make sure everything tighten according to the procedure given. If you don’t tight the. Properly there may be serious damage can occur. I’ve seen that many times. Over tighten bolts can cause to built internal cracks in the cylinder head. Also loosen injectors bolts can pop out when compression build. Have seen this too. Burnt harness. So if you not sure . Highly recommend to consult a mechanic.

Have you done a cracked cylinder head repair job on this engine 4n15? I heard it’s a common fault on this engine after valve clearance work people cut the injector seat fo remove corrosion carbon build up with a reamer too much reducing the thickness and over tighten injector bolts .

Hi mate , is it good practice to bleed the injectors first to get rid of any air trapped in the injector pipes by starting car before connecting the injector wires ?
I saw few other people suggesting this step in diesel cars
Or it’s not required in modern common rail engines due to high pressure pumps pushing most of trapped air to return line without any air lock issues
    Thanx

    • @PrimeTechauto
      @PrimeTechauto  Рік тому +2

it doesn't require in common rail engines. since the pressure is too high, it's not safe doing this. just use the feed pump on the fuel filter and pump about 20 times and start the car. this will help to bleed the system.

Nice video, I have pajero sport with this engine and I have completed almost 120k km or 60k miles. Do I need to do it now or wait to 200k and replace the injectors at the same time. What do you think? I use my car mostly on the highway with no towing.

    • @PrimeTechauto

      Hi redfalcon
Yeah it’s due for valve adjustment and fuel filter too. You can do the valve adjustment and required service items according to your region & service schedule.
But you don’t need to replace the injectors at 200k if there’s no problems.

Hi sorry completely not related to the topic in this video,
I have a small issue in my Triton mate, I recently got my intake and EGR carbon buildup cleaned on this engine .
The problem is now It’s making a funny noise after I stop the car for about 5 seconds like a weird buzzing noise.
Had a quick look online and a few forums say it’s due to egr and throttle trying to adjust , open , close and reset and might need a throttle / EGR relearn
Is this correct? Are you aware of this issue?
I am in Melbourne is this something your shop can fix if I bring the car to you guys please?

@@davidm1609I was quoted $1k by Mitsubishi dealer to adjust 3.2 Pajero DID 4M41 valves…I think that’s a bit steep as well. $1300 for 4N15 is also too much IMO…I would think a competent diesel mechanic could do it for $700-800 max including OEM gaskets

    • @RichieRich845
      @RichieRich845 4 місяці тому

I got quoted $1850 three weeks ago when I took the car in to service one and only fault = rpm dropping to 625 then immediately back to 650 every time I come to a stop or when the AC clicks on and off. They looked at car for 15 minutes, checked for trouble codes, updated the computer and that was it, the fault is still there and they made it worse, rough idle, rough while driving. $200 to make my car worse and they said it could be EGR or valve trimming. I replaced the EGR twice with new OEM. Why? I will post another question here.
I will do valve adjustment myself tomorrow, hopefully the injectors aren't stuck.

FYI Primetech, nevermind I order another EGR from Mitsubishi and returned the eBay Genuine EGR. Installed the new one, no vacuum leak. 3X EGR replaced hours of fun😁. I did the valve clearance didn't fix my rough idle, this time I did a smoke test from the DPF sensor hose and found three leaks using smoke and soapy water, 1) leak smoke in the turbo actuator lever that moves the vaines, 2) Leak in the DPF Temperature number 1 Sensor using soapy water, couldn't see smoke. 3) DPF to exhaust pipe flange leak using soapy water, couldn't see smoke. ua-cam.com/video/g85enwsr8Ic/v-deo.htmlsi=I-flZve3WGMcTwA9.
In the video your looking from the bottom of the turbo looking up at the lever with only 0.1 PSI pressure.

Hi Primetech, next time you have MQ or MR can you do a smoke test through the intake please? I recently did one and had smoke come out of the EGR through the little opening that allows atmospheric pressure so the diaphragm can move freely when the engine applies vacuum, so I ordered another one and replaced EGR got the same result, ordered another EGR with the same result, is this normal? I looked on the internet and got mixed answers and the dealership couldn't tell me either or they don't know.
