- The Harris RF-7850M-HH radio uses a different 32-pin side connector keying than other Harris hand held radios. Therefore, it requires a different type of Keyboard Display Unit. Why Harris decided to do this, is beyond me.
The connector on those KDU’s are Fischer 7 pin. Thanks for all the good videos!
thanks!
You can change backlight settings quickly with 3. It is what the LT stands for.
Yes, you are of course, correct. I forgot to show that. Thanks for pointing that out.
Another nice video Eugene. The music is a little funky though.....lol W4OSS
Thanks 👍
Nice kdu good idea
What's the MPN for this KDU?
12113-1000-01 Regards.
How do you change the soft keys?
Hello, is KDU 12113-1000-01 sold on online store?
definitely not, unfortunately!
Do you know if these radios are capable of sending text or data bursts?
I need to find a KDU or something similar for the export handheld radios with 3x3 pin pattern. My radios lcd no longer works 100% and I'm having no luck finding a replacement. An external screen would work fine for me if there is an option like that, I just need a way to program my channels once. Do you have any ideas or suggestions?
I'm not sure what remote KDU was used with the 18 pin side connectors. I think you may have an RF-5800V or something. But I just don't have any information. Sorry good luck
No KDU was made for the F2 handhelds, the only way possible to use a KDU on F2 HH is when it is installed in a F2 VAA, only then can you use a F3 or F2 KDU from a Manpack radio.
@@LukePRTR Ah. that makes sense. thanks.
Are these radios capable of talking to regular ham radios and p25 radios?
Absolutely! That is the great thing about them. For clear communication, this radio will do 30MHz to 512 MHz (covering 3 or so ham bands) P.25 is an option but hard to find on the radio. I think the 7825 radio is more likely to be found with the p.25 option. 73!
Mannnnnnnnn where do you get all these radios!!
