i really wanted to like Inzincable, but whenever i apply it, it's like a super oily mask on my face. it doesn't sink in, but just sits on top of the skin. my hair and dust stick to the face all day long. i can't put any make-up like blush on top of it either as it moves and slides around 🙈
Seems like a promotion. Why else will viable products from brands like Colorscience, EltaMD, MDSolarsciences, Skinceuticals etc. be left out of the discussion!
Skin of color have issues cerave has a hybrid with mineral and physical. All sunscreen expensive in Caribbean and brand like.xeravw over 50bds or about 25us so all other brands mentioned dont sell in.pharmacies
@@checksanity That's like the only viable product from the market she ever recommended before releasing her own product. Even in that, she made sure to pick an expensive product so that it doesn't compete with her own.
she calls it a "dewy look". I was so close to buying it but looked deeper into the ingredient list. This has only zinc oxides and not iron oxides. We need both to effectively create an anti UV barrier to reduce hyperpigmentation. Zinc oxides alone won't do. That's why I switched to colorscience which I could try in store before spending an outrageous amount!
I watched other YTer that reviewed this mineral sunscreen who are darker that her, white cast was still obvious especially once the proper amount was used. The hunt continues.
All non-tinted mineral sunscreens leave a white cast, the only one I've seen that almost gets away with not making you look like out of a Tim Burton's film is Elta MD
Does that mean before you formulated yours, woMen of color had no suitable sunscreen? I am all for promoting your brand but not at the expense of putting other brands down.
These days its like all videos are just directed at promoting her own products. Would be nice to have videos where you are reviewing products from other brands and ending there without throwing in your products because it now feels like you are just discrediting other brands to sell yours only. You have helped me so much in the past but you also need to remember not all of us can afford the price point of your products x
I agree! I bought her complete bundle daily range and added the sunscreen since it isn't included in the range and I purchased the same order 3 times and am almost out but I will not be repurchasing. Ive been watching cosmetic chemists videos and although I liked skincarebydrv, I feel like most of what she says about skin of color isn't proven or accurate once learning the legit science with certain products/actives and how they should be formulated when mixing certain ingredients to be most effective on the skin.
There are great mineral sunscreens that do not show white casts. I love your videos, but you only recommend western and DERM skincare there are better brands out there. Specially Korean which I love as a rich melatonin woman. Avene has a tinted mineral sunscreen I use for years and it has no white cast when rubbed it. I also use Innbeauty mineral sun glow which my all time favorite sunscreen ever used and it has two tinted shades.
Hi Dr. V the best on the market that work for me (dark skin WOC) are the Cotz tinted Mineral and the innbeauty mineral glow broad spectrum medium to deep (I offered both on your IG question). Would love to buy yours but the shipping alone to america is very discouraging. Cant wait for you to have a distributor/retailer here.
I love innisfree, I bought it after using all of the famous sunscreens. It’s THE BEST. It doesn’t have any white cast and very easy to rub in, it’s like a moisturizer. It’s awesome. I would recommend it any day.
What about La roche mineral hydrating sunscreen. I feel like this is like choosing really bad ones and marketing her product to be the best! Very disappointed
Probably you've to apply the same amount of other sunscreens like you apply your inzincable sunscreen. Rub rub rub... All Sunscreens will disappear after 10 mins. Patience is the key.
For real? The only tinted mineral sunscreen I tried was by DermaCo and I'm having a hard time getting rid of the white cast. Rubbing it too much makes it look patchy. And I'm only medium deep brown so a good tinted sunscreen shouldn't bother me so much tbh.
I felt that dr v was using too much sunscreen in most of the products n showing us dat it was leaving a white oily paste on her skin. Whereas with her product, she dabbed a smaller amount onto her face n showed dat it blended well. I usually like her reviews, but it was not so this time. Plus, an honest way of promoting ur product wud be to add atleast 2 more products dat she likes n den follow up wid her promotion. This is what she did before, and it felt honest back then. Now she has mostly shown products dat she knew won't work.
Your videos have definitely changed to heavily promoting your own products. I’ve tried your sunscreen, it wasn’t great. Sticking niacinamide in something we have to reapply 3 or 4 times a day leads to dryness and irritation. Also if you watch back your other shorts, you actually contradict yourself by recommending certain sunscreens and now saying they’re no good?
I’m annoyed of your ratings. You post sunscreen reviews of these brands in other videos and give it high ratings. Then people like me go out and buy the product. Then you upload again and give the same product such a LOW score. There needs to be some consistency so that your viewers don’t go and waste their money.
This video you're giving cerave -3/10, then in another one of your recent videos you give it an 8/10. You're confusing and all over the place at times.

I understand she's trying to promote her brand by devaluing other brands but man, she sure is right about Cerave's mineral sunscreen. I have light skin tone and still, it leaves a really bright white cast
In your next sunscreen video can you review Mineral Moisture Defense SPF 50 by MDSolarSciences? I think you'd be a fan of the ingredients, but good to have confirmation😊
The avene i available in tan though, and yes it worked on my caramel skin. I got itchy skin and had to stop using it, but got a bit confused to why the white avene was in the clip when they do have tan. People with normal skin and a small budget might not get a bad reaction to it
i use the avene tinted one everyday and its perfect for medium skin tones, gives a sheer coverage also (i also have very sensitive skin and it doesnt irritate)
I use inzincabke and realize that the only way not to get the white cast is to apply it after the moisturizers have completely sunk in.
