I use both lemon and apple cider vinegar to soak my plain corn meal to reduce starch; leave it covered for two days; put it in the fridge for a week or days. I live in the US and have used this method to prepare my banku for 20 years. The only drawbacks you have to eat it immediately after cooking it.
Wow, I'm learning how to make this recipe for the first time and adding apple cider vinegar too. Well stir without lumps. I love your content and bell is on for more yummy recipes
We need to document our food history and recipes by actively asking our Parents & Grandparents. I’m sure there are more incredible hacks of cooking most of our dishes. ❤️❤️
👏👏👏👌👌👌🥰🥰🥰💯💯💯 wow this is the best banku I have ever seen. Extremely smooth, I have never eaten tapioca before will try and add it to see how it will taste. I wish I had okro soup hmm. You've done so well 👏 👏👏 ayekoo precious one 💖 ❤
Malt vinegar is what I usually use and it always works great 👍🏾.... You are also right on the wisdom of our ancestors and how they knew to formulate recipes.
Malt Vinegar is great. I wish we had our food history documented and used as a point of reference. The more we have conversations with our Parents and Grandparents; we can start documenting the varied ways we all cook. ❤️❤️❤️
Sis I hope u are starting your own line of cooking pots soon ;) If u did ceramics too I will be changing my kitchen utensils for yours. I have an induction hob but will get the adapter if needed. Also if you could stock Wegba/asanka, I would like one. If too heavy with shipping costs that make it not worth ur while, please let me and will find another way 😊
Thank you. Fufu is different from Banku. Fufu is made with Cocoyam, Yam, Cassava and or Plantain. For the Fufu recipe 👉🏾ua-cam.com/video/-EYVZbt2vmU/v-deo.html
I have to try this - it must be better than sticking artificial Poly - L - Lactic Acid (Sculptra) under my skin. I'll put this ON my face instead as a face mask.🤗
Tapioca powder is available on Amazon. The traditional Banku is great, this is an alternative if you don’t have time to ferment your dough. This process mimics the taste and texture of Banku
Corn and cassava are horrible for your body. But it makes sense that you have to ferment it first! That's an excellent idea, that's how you get all the nutrients from the vegetable and you're able to process it and break it down in the body.
The softness of the banku is everything wow what great HACK! Thanks for sharing! Queen of creativity 👌
